Hotel staff were very accommodating when the room we'd reserved didn't match the room we were given. They rectified the issue within 24 hours, and we were more comfortable (and very appreciative!) of their attention to making the switch. The fitness facility was standard for a hotel, and I appreciated that it was there (and had a place to fill up my water bottle!) NB: It's very small. Two people who aren't doing cardio will be doing a delicate dance with each other. Several good options for dining nearby (and, of course, drinking, too, this is the UK!), but the hotel's food and wine selection was also quite nice (skip the rosé, though, it's a bit too sweet.)

Front-line front desk staff could be more welcoming, more friendly, just do more to acknowledge a guest's presence or existence. We encountered two front desk staff who were incredibly warm, kind, and helpful. The rest seemed to be passing the time.

Loved the location and it had two tube stations locally. Old Street a five minute walk and Liverpool Street 13 minutes walk. Lovely staff, decor, breakfast was great.

The room was beautiful but small for a single and double room. No walking room to get around to window, had to shuffle sideways along bed to move around room. A small fridge would be an excellent addition plus another chair. The room size made it difficult as a couple and a teenager to navigate. Long mirror blocked by lack of space. Expensive food for what it was in Grain and Grill. And storage was an issue. Please add in drawers for storage.

I was really impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, as well as the clean, modern aesthetic of my room and the common areas, and the high-quality breakfast on offer. The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from two different metro stations and about a half-hour walk from several key sites like St. Paul's Cathedral, the Monument to the Great Fire of London, and the Tower of London, which was extremely convenient for a traveller like me who was visiting the city alone without a car. And, despite being very central, I never had any issues with noise or light pollution.

As much as I appreciated the overall comfort and splendour of my room, there were times when it did feel slightly cramped. As a solo traveller, I don't need much room in general, and if you're planning on spending most of your time outside the hotel then it's not an issue in any case; but for those people who, like me, might need to devote some time in the mornings or evenings to work-related tasks or other responsibilities, it would've been nice if there had been more counter space and/or a bigger desk that could accommodate a laptop and paperwork.

The room was very quiet (even though we were placed on the second floor, Fri–Sat, in a relatively loud neighbourhood), and the aircon worked like a charm, which was exactly what we looked for two of the hottest days in London this summer. The neighbourhood is nice to walk around (lots of cafes and pubs), and everything is easily accessible on foot. The room is quite modern, with a spacious bathroom. I also really liked that the whole check-in and check-out process was automated, and that we were able to store our luggage at the hotel after check-out.

- As already mentioned in other reviews, the staff is not always the friendliest, but if you don't have any requests, you'll be fine, as pretty much everything can be done online. We asked for a second duvet (quite late in the evening though), and the first person at reception said she had no idea where it was stored (?) but would look around. We heard nothing after that. A second person, several hours later, after one more request, was thankfully more helpful. - Our room had a window overlooking a wall, which was perfect for us (quiet!), but the room is very dark thanks to that, even in the morning.

It's great to find a triple room where the third person can also sleep on a real bed, not on a foldable sofa bed. Also the location is great, staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel is new and fresh, rooms very quiet, breakfast very nice and there were lots of small nice touches.

So much spam before and after the booking! I've gotten at least a dozen e-mails and even an SMS from the hotel wanting me to check in online, check out online, insert my data online, rate them online, then reminders to do all of this urgently, because the time is running out etc... Less pestering the clients, please, and maybe for this price don't ask the clients to do all the work for you. Coffee at breakfast was also rather horrible and the machine had problems 4 mornings in a row. The triple room had only one chair, so this wasn't really ideal. Also being able to open a window in the room would be lovely. But these are minor details, the overall stay was lovely.

Room size was large. Bathroom looked brand new. Location was great - 5 min walk from old street.

The only thing that was disappointing was at check in. As it was valentines, guests in front of us were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco. However, when it got to us, one of the staff members said to another to open another bottle to give us a glass but she did not bother. Instead she ignored the woman and went and stood at the check in desk despite there being no one behind us. We just left and went to our room instead as there it was awkward between them.

Location is amazing! Hotel seems quite new and fresh. Our room unfortunately did not have any view, but when going on a sightseeing city trip, that did not matter to us much. What surprised me is that there was hardly any closet space and nowhere to hang your towels. Breakfast was good enough, but not amazing. The staff was very kind! Overall I can say that we had a very pleasant stay!

Breakfast could be better (better or more choice of bread and perhaps some warm boiler eggs in stead of cold). More closet space to lay down the close would be nice. Perhaps this was an exception due to the lay-out of out room.

Really good breakfast (with smoked salmon even!), well-designed, modern hotel. Small room but still feels high quality

When checking out i asked for an invoice, receptionist said she'd email it, but never received anything (maybe it went to an automated booking.com address). Also said they'd refund the extra breakfast i accidentally paid for but still nothing recieved. They sent at least 7 emails and an sms asking to 'check in online' before the stay. Totally pointless since you can check in at the hotel in about 30 seconds anyway, so its just annoying spam. Don't see the point of online check-in anyway - they should already know all the guest details from the booking.com account so why ask again.

The amenities at the hotel were great. The pillows/bed were very comfortable. The room was more spacious than I thought and our view was very lovely. It was in a central location and easy access to the main street. They let us check in early and even though they had a machine to check in, the staff was very helpful and provided support. Overall, we liked our stay there.

The room was not necessarily super clean when we checked in, there was a lot of dust under the beds. We found an opened candy and a sock under our bed. There was construction outside of the hotel when we stayed there. Unfortunately, they worked very early in the morning and even though it was outside we could still hear them. Important to note that the construction happening outside was not from the hotel, but from the building next door.
