Staff member Tiana was excellent at checking my mother in and made her feel like a VIP. I came shortly after and hadn’t realised she checked in already . Jenny warmly welcomed me ( even through I probably looked a little disheveled from rushing to meet my mum) and tried to find my booking . Tiana came over and identified that she had just settled my mother in already which explained the confusion caused by me . Both ladies were lovely !! My mother was given complimentary breakfast and they decorated her room accompanied by gifts for her 60th birthday. Truly a 5* experience and I have no regrets at all that I spent extra to book her into this hotel. My mother mentioned that the sauna was perfect and had the right amount of steam. I also love that lifts only work with a key card. As someone who has worked in a 4* hotel some years ago I really appreciated all the efforts and could definitely tell why this hotel has a 5* ranking .

Breakfast had a good variety but because our stay was during Christmas and new year, it was overcrowded and the restaurant was not prepared to deal with such crowds. The hotel was so thoughtful to put presents in front of my children’s rooms for Christmas. Such a lovely gesture.

The limit for the use of pools for children. I booked this hotel so I could bring the kids to the indoor pool but there was a 2 hour time limit during the day when we were normally out and about. Kids are not allowed in the pool in the afternoons/evenings. The housekeeping staff took £250 from my purse. Sadly I was in a rush and forgot to put it in the safe and it was removed from my purse. Hopefully they needed the money more than me.

My sisters and I were in desperate need of a break from the non stop day to day and the  plans finally made it "out of the group chat" when we stumbled across Montcalm East! We didn't know what to expect but let's just say expectations were exceeded! Everything was absolutely perfect from the super welcoming staff- especially Abdullah (I hope I have spelt that correctly) whom I understand was extremely helpful to my sisters when they checked in, to the delicious food, to the very comfortable and clean bedroom (the heated bathroom floor 🥳🥳🥳) with very nice amenities. I think the key thing for us was to find a hotel that allowed unlimited access to the spa facilities. Montcalm East is one of the very few establishments in London that offer that to guests staying at the hotel. Other places only allow up to 2 hours!

Hand on heart this was one of the best hotels I’ve been to. The buildings interior is so nice and the customer service was elite. I booked a stay to do a girlfriend proposal and Anista & Coco from the guest experience team did everything they could to make the experience so special and unforgettable. I was given so much assistance and support even from before I got to the hotel being sent offers and information about personal room decoration setups, spa treatments, and cool extras like having Polaroids developed for you! We were given complementary drinks on arrival at the bar, bags were taken up for us and the functions of the room were explained to us very professionally. All the staff were very kind, personable and had a good positive energy about them. The spa was perfect it has a soothing atmosphere and has everything you need there to unwind, I’d come back even just for the spa! From beginning to end we were made to feel very important and any questions or issued we thought we had were made a priority and were solved. Again big thank you to Anista and Coco they are amazing. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to family and friends.

The hotel is lovely with amazing facilities available including a 24hr gym. Great location for evening nightlife and restaurants. Walking distance from train station. Staff were very attentive from the moment I arrived right until the end of my stay. As I was celebrating my birthday, I had a nice birthday set up by the hotel with complimentary snacks and juice and an introduction with one of the managers who also gifted me a bottle of rosé free of charge which made it that little more special. The restaurant and bar are also a really good place to hang out if you don’t want to leave the hotel at all. The spa was included with various treatment rooms to cater to everyone’s preference.

I’ve stayed here a few times before and as it was for my birthday I upgraded my room. I was upgraded to a corner room which although was lovely, was quite small compared to the room I had the last time I stayed. I’m only going off of what I had previously without an upgrade so an upgrade wouldn’t always be necessary

My stay at Montcalm East started with a small hiccup, but it quickly turned into a fantastic experience thanks to the incredible staff. The Guest Experience and especially Denise, the Duty Manager went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction, resolving the issue promptly and making me feel truly valued as a guest. The thoughtful gestures, including different forms of compensations, completely turned my experience around. The follow-up from Prabhash, the other Duty Manager, was also greatly appreciated and reflected the hotel’s commitment to excellent guest service. I left Montcalm East feeling genuinely impressed by the team's dedication to creating a memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for their outstanding guest care and attention to detail.

Very nice and spacious room, our child got two presents and we even had a popcorn machine! Great location, tube a 5 minutes walk, many bus stations around. Staff very kind and helpful. Breakfast was also good but not excellent

Our bed was a bit squeaky and soft, which was not something one would expect in a 5 star hotel. The other thing I would like to mention is that one day while we were in the room having afternoon rest someone got into our room - when we asked who it was they left (we did not see them as the bed is located in that way). And the other day someone heavily knocked on our door at midnight and woke us up.

Everything was great.. The receptionist who checked me in was very understanding and hopitable. The room was lager than expected so a nice surprise.. The bed was comfortable.

Upon booking , The payment details stated at £251, £50 was a deposit. Upon arrival to the hotel , I was informed that this is not the case and I had to pay £50 deposit.. I was informed that 3rd party bookings get this information wrong at times... As a customer the wrong information can lead to unexpected additional cost...Clarity in the finer details is essential.

Proximity to Moorefields eye hospital where my treatment was to happen. Very nice comfortable quiet room. The birthday celebration package was really lovely and worth the cost. Room service was delicious (see comments below re ordering issue) The guest experience director was Excellent, I was able to have online orders sent to the hotel and kept till we arrived from France which saved me a lot of time and effort. Their postage service also likewise.

The overly complicated light switches with no instructions. No instructions for the AC either so had trouble adjusting that as the room was too warm. The room service was via a QR code but turns out they had changed it so it was wrong. They delivered the new one quickly though. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, they had no English breakfast tea(every other kind), I ordered eggs benedict which our waitress had clearly never heard of before (we had to point at the menu) actually I think it was her poor english skills and obvious lack of training. Traffic in this area of London is a nightmare, very busy but proximity to the newly rebuilt Old Street tube station should help.
