Staff member Tiana was excellent at checking my mother in and made her feel like a VIP. I came shortly after and hadn’t realised she checked in already . Jenny warmly welcomed me ( even through I probably looked a little disheveled from rushing to meet my mum) and tried to find my booking . Tiana came over and identified that she had just settled my mother in already which explained the confusion caused by me . Both ladies were lovely !! My mother was given complimentary breakfast and they decorated her room accompanied by gifts for her 60th birthday. Truly a 5* experience and I have no regrets at all that I spent extra to book her into this hotel. My mother mentioned that the sauna was perfect and had the right amount of steam. I also love that lifts only work with a key card. As someone who has worked in a 4* hotel some years ago I really appreciated all the efforts and could definitely tell why this hotel has a 5* ranking .

good check in experience, room was presented beautifully with balloons and petals on the bed for my partner's birthday. excellent staff in all areas of the hotel, breakfast was superb, so much choice! beds were comfy. great location

we had to ask for our shower gel to be topped up and for more toilet rolls and they were just placed on our beds, rather than in the holders in the bathroom, spa got too full and there was faeces in one of the showers, which to be fair was cleaned up straight away when we brough it to their attention (just don't understand why anyone would do that!), took a bit of time to figure out the technology in the room - no explanation and no guidance on how to order room service?

The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location was fantastic. You can go everywhere by bus or metro, which are very close to the hotel. However, they don't have parking, so if you have a car, it will be a problem. For breakfast, it was good. Not excellent, but it meets your limited expectations. Clearness is very important for us, and their room, bar, and kitchen were clear

I wanted to say thank you so much for making our engagement staycation so unforgettable!!! The entire experience at The Montcalm exceeded my expectations and made this special moment picture perfect. A special thank you goes to Domi, the Guest Experience Manager, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and accommodating with the proposal package arrangements. Her care and attention to detail made all the difference. When my partner (now fiancée) walked into the room to find balloons, night lights, a bottle of wine, and our initials beautifully spelled out in rose petals, she was absolutely ecstatic. Her excitement and joy were beyond words—and when she turned around to find me down on one knee with the ring she had always wanted, the moment became one we will both cherish forever. Thank you again for going above and beyond to make this experience so magical and memorable. We are deeply grateful to the entire team, and especially to Domi, for helping make our engagement everything we dreamed of and more.

The staff at this hotel truly went above and beyond! From the doorman to the check-in lady, everyone was exceptional. The hotel itself is modern and perfect, with beautiful art throughout. The cleaning staff were friendly, and the bar area staff were amazing. We were particularly impressed with the luggage handling - our bags were dropped off in our rooms before check-in, and two gentlemen helped us with our luggage to the car for our Uber. The hotel room was modern, the bathroom was clean and lovely, and the staff were always willing to go the extra mile to sort out any issues. Overall, our experience was exceptional in every way.

I rarely write reviews but my daughters (6 and 22) and I absolutely loved this hotel! The location is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the pool area is clean, friendly and relaxing, with set children’s times. But what made our stay truly memorable was the AMAZING level of friendly, personalised service we received. Not only did we find a little welcome gift in our room upon arrival, Tiana (?) at reception let us check in early and gave us a free room upgrade and Bruno, the restaurant manager, went over and beyond to cater for one of our friend‘s allergies… A wonderful experience overall and we would definitely go back!

We moved to this hotel from a „hipster“ hotel down the road and were worried that it might feel too „corporate“ - but our fears were unfounded.

My sisters and I were in desperate need of a break from the non stop day to day and the  plans finally made it "out of the group chat" when we stumbled across Montcalm East! We didn't know what to expect but let's just say expectations were exceeded! Everything was absolutely perfect from the super welcoming staff- especially Abdullah (I hope I have spelt that correctly) whom I understand was extremely helpful to my sisters when they checked in, to the delicious food, to the very comfortable and clean bedroom (the heated bathroom floor 🥳🥳🥳) with very nice amenities. I think the key thing for us was to find a hotel that allowed unlimited access to the spa facilities. Montcalm East is one of the very few establishments in London that offer that to guests staying at the hotel. Other places only allow up to 2 hours!

Breakfast had a good variety but because our stay was during Christmas and new year, it was overcrowded and the restaurant was not prepared to deal with such crowds. The hotel was so thoughtful to put presents in front of my children’s rooms for Christmas. Such a lovely gesture.

The limit for the use of pools for children. I booked this hotel so I could bring the kids to the indoor pool but there was a 2 hour time limit during the day when we were normally out and about. Kids are not allowed in the pool in the afternoons/evenings. The housekeeping staff took £250 from my purse. Sadly I was in a rush and forgot to put it in the safe and it was removed from my purse. Hopefully they needed the money more than me.

my only bugbear is that in the changing rooms for the pool, there isn't a mini spin dryer for wet swimming clothes or a bag dispenser to keep wet clothes in. I was offered a bag by the lady in the spa reception. There are so many obvious attentions to detail throughout the hotel, I'm surprised this obvious requirement has been overlooked.
