Staff are fantastic, the hotel is very clean and the location is perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and bathroom amenities are fabulous.

If anything the rooms are a little tired could do with some touch ups lots of scuff marks and peeled paint. Bathroom needs re sealing and grouting and electrics need to be looked at we had a few flickering bulbs and one socket didn’t work.

For 5 star hotel I expect coffee machines in the rooms and complimentary dressing gowns. Lobby is beautiful however there are signs of tiredness around the hotel. Fraying carpets. Our table in the room was scratched and tired. Dust everywhere in the bedroom too.

I booked the Wow suite for the weekend, to celebrate my husbands birthday in London. The name certainly is apt. It's what you say when you enter the suite ! It was beautiful. WOW. Bathroom was a surprise. Beautiful too. Huge bath with spa type shower over it. I didn't realise there was a glass wall separating it from the bedroom, however there is an electric blind for privacy ;-). Staff had put balloons on the bed and there was bubbles and sweet treats waiting too. A lovely touch. Bed was super comfy and environment was pretty quiet. Every member of staff we encountered were super friendly. There was a good choice at breakfast. We didn't have any other meals there as we spent most of the time in central Central London. Hotel was a few minutes walk from Moorgate. Easy to find. We've stayed before, 7yrs ago on our last visit to London and the standards haven't slipped, however we just had a double room then. That was beautiful back then, hence me re-booking and snapping up the Wow suite when I saw it available. If you're celebrating a special occasion book this room. You won't be disappointed.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location stone’s throw from Underground, that’s all you need in London. The room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff. Every single one of them was genuinely friendly, always smiling, and ready to help without even the slightest hesitation. They were all dressed smartly in uniform, giving a professional and welcoming vibe from the moment we arrived. A special shoutout to Syed, who went above and beyond to make our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel truly taken care of, this is it!

the bedside cupboards & wardrobe space need updated as the surface was lifting & bubbled up, the bath was broken of which did get fixed , definitely not up to the 5⭐️standard of which the hotel should be, fire alarm twice around 5.15am which were false alarms!!! not 1 word of apology we had to call down to reception to ask is this a real alarm the reception finally answered practically laughed when I asked so was not impressed, I was concerned after I booked after seeing photos from others thinking that I may if booked the wrong hotel but overall the stay was good it was a special stay for my husbands 60th birthday!! but needs updating even the strange blind on the bathroom didn’t work, didn’t bother us but it might others

The room was excellent and had been prepared for my partners birthday with balloons as a surprise. There was a bottle of 'bubbles' and chocolates too! So thoughtful. The room was on the road side of the hotel so was a little noisier than I would usually like, but its a city hotel, and it was fine for the night we stayed. The staff were very helpful and whilst the layout is certainly unusual, being several interconnected properties, we found our way around just fine. Breakfast was good, although the selection on hot food wasnt the largest Ive had, but our request for poached eggs was met with a very 'can-do' attitude and they arrived quickly and piping hot. A lovely London City financial district spot and we will return when in that part of London again.

A little noisy on the road side of the property. When asking about snack food, recpetion didnt tell us about the Chiswell Street dining rooms, which was adjacent and conjoined to the hotel. It would have helped with our mid afternon munchies!

The staff were amazing. Everyone was in good spirits. Taufi helped me with my luggage and was very polite. The receptionist with the man bun charged my smart watch for me while I was out and when I came back it was good to go. (My usb charger in the room wasn't working) The gym was really nice, could probably do with 1 more treadmill. Loved the refreshing lemon water in the lobby every day. The breakfast was really nice, real 'coffee machine' coffee. The only thing I would improve was the eggs.

It is not often that a hotel exceeds my expectations the way the Montcalm Brewery did. I booked the hotel online expecting the usual tiny London rooms and worn-out interiors, but it was a pleasant surprise from the second I entered the lobby to the moment I left the hotel. I stayed there for a week with my sister. Our first impression was the beautiful welcome and the helpful staff at the front desk. They were accommodating of our requests to have a room on the street side with two separate beds. The room was very clean, with comfortable beds, functioning AC, room slippers, complimentary water, tea, coffee, and cookies! The hotel itself has so much history, which was showcased through a series of photos across the hallways and facilities. I used the gym a couple of times; it was clean and well-maintained, with towels and water provided for free. The breakfast was perfect and included the hot and cold items you would expect. Our room was cleaned daily, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Mayuri and Katina made sure we had everything we needed and pampered us with extra towels and extra pillows. On our last day, we walked into our room to find complimentary drinks and macarons. I made sure to call and thank Rodhika personally for her nice gesture. This hotel was a random find on a hotel booking website, but now it will be my destination whenever I'm in London. I know that my review sounds a little too positive, but I honestly can't think of anything negative to mention.

We loved our “Wow Suite”. It had a lovely poster bed which was so comfortable it felt like I was sleeping in the clouds! We had everything we needed and house keeping kept asking to give us more stuff to make our stay more comfortable. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect as we were able to park at the Barbican car park. I had booked our stay before I read the reviews. Most of them were negative and I was worried and wished I could cancel the reservation. However, our stay was perfect! My husband and I loved our experience including the wonderful breakfast. We had a great weekend. Thank you for such a wonderful time at your hotel.

Nothing! It was just perfect!

The property is very large in size and very nice to look at. You will always be greeted by lovely staff in the reception. The connecting bar named the Jugged Hare is also nice. The layout is so big that it’s easy to get lost.

Room lighting is poor and the air-con was not great and quite dated and kept increasing the temperature to 24 during the nights. I also had an odd interaction in the reception toilets with a female cleaner who got very angry at me because I needed to wash my hands after she had cleaned the floor. She told me not to wash my hands and to stay off the floor she had cleaned. Was quite strange.
