Staff are fantastic, the hotel is very clean and the location is perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and bathroom amenities are fabulous.

If anything the rooms are a little tired could do with some touch ups lots of scuff marks and peeled paint. Bathroom needs re sealing and grouting and electrics need to be looked at we had a few flickering bulbs and one socket didn’t work.

Good size room. Friendly staff. Complimentary water around hotel.

For 5 star hotel I expect coffee machines in the rooms and complimentary dressing gowns. Lobby is beautiful however there are signs of tiredness around the hotel. Fraying carpets. Our table in the room was scratched and tired. Dust everywhere in the bedroom too.

Location was super, in between 3 metro stations, all within 10 minutes walk. Rather quiet district at night, people don't yell at the street, that's great. Even when the hotel was hosting a party in the inner yard Friday night, you couldn't hear any noise in the room. Welcoming, very polite personnel, fancy lobby. I'd say, the folks took extra effort with room cleaning, which was not necessarily what we, as guests, wanted, but the effort to make the bed on daily basis was remarkable. Air conditioning was operating well. All necessary accessories were in place: cups, kettle, slippers, hair dryer, plenty of sockets, there was even an ironing board and safe. Comfy large bed.

It was impossible to turn the lights off)) We tried all combinations of switches, ended up with removing the card from the cardholder. Luckily, sockets and air conditioning still worked, so this was bearable to live with the hack. Another challenge was to turn on the shower and not get flushed with cold water, seems it's a common problem in UK, so let's say it's a feature, not a bug. Lastly, it would've been nice if there was a toilet brush in the room. No doubt, we enjoyed regular (let me stress this again - remarkable) room cleaning, but it'd been even more beneficial for us to be able to perform certain self-service.

I booked the Wow suite for the weekend, to celebrate my husbands birthday in London. The name certainly is apt. It's what you say when you enter the suite ! It was beautiful. WOW. Bathroom was a surprise. Beautiful too. Huge bath with spa type shower over it. I didn't realise there was a glass wall separating it from the bedroom, however there is an electric blind for privacy ;-). Staff had put balloons on the bed and there was bubbles and sweet treats waiting too. A lovely touch. Bed was super comfy and environment was pretty quiet. Every member of staff we encountered were super friendly. There was a good choice at breakfast. We didn't have any other meals there as we spent most of the time in central Central London. Hotel was a few minutes walk from Moorgate. Easy to find. We've stayed before, 7yrs ago on our last visit to London and the standards haven't slipped, however we just had a double room then. That was beautiful back then, hence me re-booking and snapping up the Wow suite when I saw it available. If you're celebrating a special occasion book this room. You won't be disappointed.

This hotel is a gem! Incredibly attentive staff, very professional, and felt like you were receiving 5 star treatment all the time. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the rooms are nice, and very comfortable! The location is very convenient (not the most charming neighborhood itself, it is more of the financial district from my understanding, but absolutely perfect in terms of walking distance to everything you need (20 minutes walk to Shoreditch and Islington, easy walk to the Thames and other touristic sights etc. - I picked it specifically because the location was so convenient for me). The hotel has a unique charm to it, which is what I was looking for, and seemed to be tough to find in this price range (most other hotels I saw in this price range were quite cookie cutter and boring, or too modern feeling, lacking charm). Definitely recommend staying here! I would absolutely come back when I return to London.

We originally booked a room in the Montcalm Brewery hotel but due to maintenance issues we were contacted in advance and offered accommodation in a nearby Montcalm hotel instead. The location was excellent – just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station with good connection to the airport by train. The staff were very professional and welcoming. Our room was spacious, quiet, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We really enjoyed our time here and had a great rest. We had an amazing breakfast too. Overall we’re very happy and satisfied with the experience. In general we had a very good impression from Montcalm hotels treatment and care and if we return we will book it again.

The room, WOW Suite, was lovely. Spacious and clean with plenty of natural light from the huge windows. Loads of space for clothes and very nicely presented. Enjoyed the breakfast, although some mushrooms would go great with the cooked breakfast!

The big downside was that the restaurant and bar in the hotel were not open on either night we were there. On the first night, we just wanted to relax and unwind after travelling, but instead we had to go to the nearest pub. The pub was nice, but it was very busy and we couldn't sit down. Decided in the end to go back to the room after just 1 drink.

My fiancé and I had the most magical stay at Montcalm Hotel Brewery and we’re still talking about how special everything was! From the moment we opened the door to our room, we were absolutely blown away. The staff went above and beyond to create the perfect romantic atmosphere for us. The room was beautifully decorated with rose petals scattered across the bed, elegant towel swans, helium balloons floating above, and even a bottle of chilled champagne waiting for us. To top it all off, there was a delicious cake prepared just for us—it was such a thoughtful surprise and made us feel truly celebrated. Everything from the décor to the service was flawless. The team made us feel welcome, valued, and completely at ease throughout our stay. It was clear that every detail had been carefully planned to help us enjoy a beautiful, intimate moment together. We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience. Thank you to Montcalm Hotel Brewery for creating such a romantic and unforgettable getaway. We will absolutely be recommending this place to all our friends, and we can’t wait to come back—maybe for our honeymoon!

Location was great, off the Elizabeth Line to be easy from Reading via Paddington, but on the Northern Line to get to Chinatown and Highgate for a gig in the evening. Value for the accommodation was good, as it's the city and quiet on a Friday

The breakfast was very disappointing. £25 is expected in a 5 star (albeit some of the hotel finished were in need of touching up), but the selection of hilot items was poor, with just scrambled eggs , a whole big bain-marie of baked beans drowned in sauce, one side browned sausages (butbtasty) part steamed as the centre was pink and gelatinous streaky bacon! For a 5 star, back bacon , properly cooked would be expected, perhaps a choice of fried and poached eggs , mushrooms and hash browns! I have had better in a 3/4 star Hikton. I would really improve or I would notvtake breakfast next time.
