Malmaison London has become one of our favorite places to stay when we’re in the city. It strikes a great balance between style, comfort, and value. The rooms are modern, cozy, and thoughtfully designed—cute without trying too hard, and always comfortable. One of the things we love most is the location. The hotel sits on a quiet, leafy square with a little park in the middle, which gives it a calm, tucked-away feel despite being right in the heart of the city. It’s a short walk to great restaurants and bars in Farringdon and Clerkenwell, and it's just as easy to stroll into the City for work or sightseeing. There’s also a Tube stop nearby, so getting around London is a breeze. The hotel’s restaurant and bar are decent—great for a relaxed meal or drink before heading out—and the room service is reliable when you want a quiet night in. All in all, Malmaison London is stylish, well-located, and reasonably priced. It’s become a go-to for us, and we’re always happy to come back.

The location was why we chose Malmaison as we had two bookings at the Barbican, which is a short walk from the hotel. The surrounding area is very interesting with the gardens right in front of the hotel. The staff were all excellent, particularly Fran on reception. They were all friendly, professional and helpful. The bar is great for drinks. Again the staff were friendly and happy to spend time talking about the cocktails on offer. The breakfasts were excellent with a good range of hot food which was cooked beautifully. We would recommend this hotel which is well placed for visiting the new London museum when it opens in 2026.

The hotel is in a wonderful location on Charterhouse square - very green and quiet for central London. Approx. 15 mins from King's Cross St Pancras. 20 minutes to the West End which was the sole purpose of our stay. The staff on arrival were super friendly and helpful. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was large with a large comfortable bed and seating which was ideal for relaxing. Large powerful shower with good complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was very good with a range of cooked options plus a comprehensive continental style breakfast.

Our room was close to the lifts - we heard some minor disturbance of other guests returning from a night out.

Great situation on Charterhouse Square and a comfortable, modern hotel. Very large and comfortable bed in our room, where we paid to accept an upgrade offer received by email a few days before arrival. A good place to stay in Central London.

We accepted a room upgrade "special offer" received by email a few days before check in which cost us c£30 per night extra. However our friends, who also stayed in the hotel on one of the two nights we were there, received a room upgrade totally free of charge ! Breakfast was disappointing. Expensive at £27 and service on the day we took the option was very poor with one poor member of staff running around trying to do everything. Took a long time to get our cooked food ordered and even longer for it to come (when it did it was good). The cold options were limited ...surely the continental breakfast buffet options should include some good bread, cheese and ham choices, not just a few pastries, sliced bread and fruit.

The staff were exceptional. We arrived after booking through Booking.com and our request for a pet friendly room hadn't been conveyed. The staff were able to quickly sort the error and accommodate our four-legged friend, and even brought through a pet bed, bowls, and treats and toys. What a wonderful experience.

There's not too much to complain about this site. The feather pillows would be the only thing that were a draw back. I would recommend - if your sleeping is based on pillow comfort - bring your own pillow, everything else was great.

Perfect location to the tube station at Farringdon- hotel has everything you need - rooms are great - very comfortable beds . tea, coffee, fridge, iron, ironing board hairdryer everything provided that you need for your stay Great wardrobes space. The most amazing choices for breakfast, including full cooked English or continental options lots of choice very worth it . Hotel is in great location for restaurants local our favourite is Luca on John Street. It’s a Michelin star Italian restaurant and is exceptional..

Easy check in. Great breakfast. The ambience of the hotel was absolutely stunning. The carefully chosen paintings and art pieces added a touch of elegance and uniqueness, creating a visually captivating experience. The furniture was not only stylish and luxurious but also incredibly comfortable, seamlessly blending modern design with timeless charm. Every corner of the space felt thoughtfully curated, making it a perfect setting to relax and enjoy.

I wish the room might have been a little more larger. The clock wasn’t working (needs a change of battery)

The room was comfortable, quiet and clean - as was the bathroom. As a woman travelling alone, it was reassuring that, on check-in, the receptionist asked if I would feel safe with the ground floor room that had been assigned to me, and happily moved me up to the first floor instead. The location in Charterhouse Square is beautiful and very convenient, with excellent transport connections a short walk away at Farringdon train and tube station. Bars and restaurants of Smithfield, Farringdon and St. John Street are all in walking distance.

The bar/restaurant downstairs is too dark and service was not great. The bar shouldn’t be offering cocktails if there is no-one trained to make them!

This location offers a great view of the leafy park and is situated in a quiet spot close to the train station. The friendly staff offered to store our luggage after checkout, which was a great service. We also appreciated the 11am checkout, as it allowed us to sleep in a little longer before our evening flight.

During our summer visit, the room was quite warm, even with the air conditioning on. It was quite uncomfortable to sleep.

I Had a wonderful view from my room and separate breakout area to work from in my room was brilliant Gorgeous food the staff kindly made me a fresh fruit salad off menu which I really appreciated

There was a constant humming /buzzing from the bathroom extractor /fan that disturbed my sleep I couldn’t work out how to turn it off Shutting the bathroom door muffled it but it was distracting. I am a good sleeper and don’t typically get woken by noises. Such a shame - other than that everything was five star
