Kudos YHA Thameside for the cleanliness and providing a safe space for your guests. As I entered the building compound then the building itself, I was greeted by a sense of calmness and spaciousness. The surrounding is also quiet and peaceful. I shared two pictures from the neighbourhood. I forgot to take the pictures in my room / building. What you see in booking.com is what you get. I stayed in a single room at level 4 and the facilities provided exceeds my expectations. Trash and my room being cleaned on daily basis. Perhaps, one tiny request for me and fellow guests would be providing a floor towel in the bathroom so that we come out dry from it. Bus stop - Smith Close - is just 2 minutes away and the neighbourhood area is worth exploring.

Nice and quiet location, very close to the river and the interesting Brunel museum; good breakfast; helpful staff. Our 4-bed room had a big bathroom.

The hostel is popular with children and youth groups, and one night a scout group was very loud. The beds seem short.

Excellent value for money but cost of breakfast and towel extra . The only concern I had was the shower base needs attention. I have attached some pics

I had a 23 hour layover in London, and was planning to be in the area, so this hostel was a good, inexpensive option. Front desk staff were super friendly, the rooms and bathrooms were clean. It's conveniently located about a 12 min walk from the Canada Water tube station.

I would've liked to see more room to put your stuff, especially when using the bathroom. Bathrooms are shared, but still, you need a hook or something to hang your towel, or a place to put your change of clothes when you shower. I had to put my clothes on top of the toilet seat cover and place my toiletry kit on top of the toilet paper dispenser. The water pressure in the shower was weak and it took forever to shower because the water was just like a spray. Also, halfway through my shower, the light turned off and I had to shower in the dark.

Wifi turned off when we needed it to check where to buy tickets, asked lady where to buy metro tickets and told canary walf station and woman even said seven minutes walk up road was not a metro station and no tickets, had machine and ticket office in the station. Maybe the lady wanted us to take the ferry to go across the river to the other metro station? My wife even asked twice same lady who said twice no metro up the road. Was left very confused 😕🤔 10am was to soon to check out needed to be 11am like other places be nice.

Amazing property. Location and size. It’s got two lifts and a kitchen area. It’s a proper hostel styled place with upgrades of u need. The staff were very very helpful. U can leave ur luggage with them for a short while of ur checking out early. The rooms themselves were sufficient and very clean. Very spacious toilets. The kitchen was well equipped and clean as well. Will definitely stay there again. It’s also located in a very safe and residential area, just about 300meters from the nearest underground railway line.

This might be just over bearing. But the shower pressure could’ve been a bit more. That’s all.

The check in was smooth and the staffs were polite and nice. The room was simple but clean & meet the needs. Bed frame were firm & rigid that do not make squeaky noise. The staffs were great and pro-active. ie: a kitchen user informed a staff that something in the fridge is smelly. The staff did not go to make a report or inform the mngment but acted immediately, inspect & clear the problem thoroughly. Even got another staff to assist and clean around and behind the 2 fridges. :) Thumb-up to her!

Bathroom should have a bathroom rake to place shampoo & soap. Very difficult putting on the floor esp bathroom is small. Bathroom & toilet should be added with hooks behind the door to hang towels and cloths. The kitchen facilities were great and highly utilised. However, it could be helpful to add an exhaust fan. While I was there, cooking trigger the fire alarm in the next lounge room but nobody responded to the alarm!

This hostel is modern and spacious! I really like the water bottle refill station and the spacious lounge area with lots of comfy couches and tables and places to charge my phone. I like the big glass ceiling which let's in lots of natural light. The staff are super amazing! They kindly printed out my plane ticket for me. I liked how spacious the room was, and the shower was nice and the locker was spacious. Although the neighborhood is a bit far from the more touristy parts of London, it is really nice neighborhood with lots of lovely trails along the water, and the C-10 bus stops right in front of the hostel. There is a nice little neighborhood grocery store about a ten minute walk away. I also really like how the staff are there to help 24/7.

The shower in my particular room took a while to drain. This isn't always the case because I stayed here twice and the first time I stayed here the shower drained perfectly. I felt the kitchen was a little small and slightly lacking in some kitchen equipment. I like how there's a free food shelf in the kitchen, but I kind of wish there was a reserved "free" section in the fridge as well. These aren't reasons to avoid this place though, as it was excellent value and I would come again.

I really enjoy staying here when the opportunity arises. I was very appreciative of the hostel reserving me a lower bunk due to my bad knee. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed, hot shower, more than adequate security cage underneath the bed and plenty of hanger space. Good ventilation.The very efficient lifts here are a blessing. Downstairs there is plenty of space to relax. Only a 10 minute walk directly up from Rotherhithe Station. Members of staff are always very helpful. I will certainly come here again though perhaps towards the end of the year when it is less busy.
