Position is excellent - on the Esplanade and right opposite a great beach, and just along from from a play park that suited both our 2-year-old and a very adventurous 7! Rooms (116 & 117) were/are a good size, and nice & light. Good tv service with all the extras. Nice lounge area and space for dining/breakfast, overlooking the sea, and with several tables on a big terrace too. Breakfast offer pretty good, although no granola or muesli is a bit unusual these days...? Good cooked English, and also kippers & Eggs Benedict! Super staff - everyone we met was very friendly.

Small bathroom (particularly in 117) on the small side, particularly the shower enclosure. Also, the passageway lighting to our rooms was a bit flickery, as though the bulbs (probably the led drivers, though) were on the way out. Otherwise everything was fine.

The Hotel was welcoming when we first arrived. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and spacious. The hot water, was really hot, I had to remember to use the cold tap too. The staff in all areas were friendly and up for a chat whilst working. Made for a pleasant environment. The location was excellent to walk the promenade both ways and nearly had it's own private beach. Car park a bonus.

I understand that the restaurant had a set menu and as is open to the public, this is perfectly normal. We were only there for a few days but I would have liked a bit more variety. Likewise we could have gone out also. That's the only thing.

Lovely spacious room, really good strong shower, minimal tea/coffee provisions in room so no waste. Able to open windows to safety locks, so able to listen to real waves all night. Helpful staff under much duress with wedding guests to check in too. Night manager very attentive to needs/ Door lock problem. Breakfast was excellent in both taste, as amount of food choices available. Happy staff who were willing to help with questions too. Liked the maintenance card to alert for room faults if needed.

Website said Reception was available until 11pm, but was actually open longer than this. Worried we would not get there in time to check in for the night could have been avoided. Please can this be updated?

Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant and Bar very comfortable and well laid out. Very relaxed atmosphere and good range of food and drinks offered at the Bar. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable .

Room although spacious and beds comfortable and very clean could do with a bit more TLC - the bathroom rather basic and naked plaster patches which were left unpainted. Does have lift but still requires one to negotiate series of stairs once on your room floor - bit of a challenge for those with mobility issues.

All the staff were great. Never looked bored or morose. The room was spacious and airy with a great view . All the room furniture looked very new as did the curtains. The carpet was clean , modern TV. Out of the room the bar and breakfast area are spacious with great views of the North sea and the breakfast is very good value. Drinks also reasonable prices.

I booked a disability access room (hence the space) with hand rail supports in the bathroom. Unfortunately (sorry I forgot to report this) the one on the tiles by the bath/shower came off when I used it as support to get out of the shower. (screws were nowhere near sturdy or long enough for a hand rail) This led to me nearly falling as I slipped when it came away from the wall. It's not conducive for people with disability as the bath is a higher level than the floor when you step out so that put force on the hand rail as there was no other way to manoeuvre out.

Nice hotel on the seafront, reception was open till late, not too expensive, restaurant was open till 9pm which was helpful as I arrived late, warm and cosy. 10 mins walk from the train station.

At breakfast, the staff asked each person to bring the cardboard wallet that their room card came in, from what I observed 100% of customers had to consequently go back to their room to fetch it (including me). I'd suggest to follow the example of most other hotels who ask you your room number and name and providing they correlate, you can have breakfast or some hotels have a room card reader at breakfast. Anyway, this is only a minor issue and didn't exactly affect my stay!

Location of the hotel is great and the parking was easy. The room was a good size for a twin room. Very comfortable beds too. The restaurant has a varied menu where the staff aim to please. Both the ladies and the gentleman on Reception were helpful. They even pointed out that Booking.com have not updated some of the room descriptions, hence we did not have the 'expected fridge'!!! I love this hotel and I love the area...

Our twin room did not have the socket placings as described. So only one double socket for the whole room. Needed to use the fan but it could not be positioned as required, due to the one socket. Bathroom needed finishing touches e.g. fill and paint holes where the towel rail and over-sink shelf had previously been positioned. Being picky here, but no wall art and not enough hooks for bathroom towels... This hotel deserves the 'finishing touches' to get a higher rating

The Hatfield hotel is within walking distance of Lowestoft railway station, and the back of the hotel looks out on the esplanade, the beach and north sea. The hotel has a great location overlooking the beach and sea, on the front promenade quite central with the town centre just a few minutes walk away. The bar and restaurant are always open for guests and non staying guests alike. The menu has a good variety of dishes to choose from and are all prepared to a high standard. Customers have the option of dining inside near the bar area or outside where a decked area with conservatory are also available. For people with mobility/access issues there is also a ramp up to the decked area and bar. And in addition the hotel now offers stays in the newly acquired lodge rooms on the road opposite. Again this is a great option for people with mobility issues. If you are staying B&B the breakfast is amazing, and will fill you up for the rest of the day! 😀

There were very few negative points to pick up on during our stay. The current parking setup could be addressed. With guests having to re-register their car reg every 24 hrs. And the lodge room we stayed in had a towel heater in the bathroom with no controller on it, and was permanently on. Without the fan that was provided by the hotel, the room could have got very warm.

Relaxed atmosphere Almost on the beach and not far from town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful Gluten free catered for Very good quality food. Restaurant area mostly felt spacious and relaxed. Room and ensuite both larger than expected. Good view of the new Kittiwake nesting towers.

Very small car park used by two hotels plus casual diners. We had to drive around looking for parking. Although there are large car parks close by, it was an extra hassle and expense we weren't expecting. Bed was not comfortable and felt rickety. Restaurant area crowded when there was a wedding on the Saturday and we felt we couldn't be around the restaurant/bar without intruding.
