We really enjoyed our stay ,breakfast was great quality ie bacon and sausage ,plenty of continental options too ,very generous amount of tea and coffee that you can top up if required, very clean and everything you need for your stay but do bring your own shower gel etc,the view is amazing overlooking the beach with plenty to do on your doorstep ,we enjoyed the pool table which on a drizzly day was handy ,we did ask for a double bed but we resolved this by pushing them together ,but we will definitely come back we would also recommend to friends ,to support a great hotel who really like to make you feel welcome thank you .

We loved the sea view and proximity to town. The advert said private bathroom, so we were pleased to find it was ensuite. Tea, coffee, bottled water and hot chocolate provision was really good and replenished daily. I was pleased to find a hairdryer in the room. The continental breakfast we opted for had cereal, yoghurt, muffins, fruit and toast, which was good. The WiFi worked in the room, after scanning the QR code on the router. The staff were really helpful and attentive to our needs. They were really friendly too.

There were only 3 cereals to choose from (cornflakes, alpen and crunchy nut cornflakes). They could have done with another healthy option like bran flakes. Room 3 needed another bedside table, as I ended up using the dressing table stool.

Superb staff, cuisine , décor ,ambiance ,situation . Coming from Military families on both sides .and having worked with WW2 Veterans as a MIND social worker in the 80`s ,I just wish I had know of this marvel decades ago. My late father was the Voluntary Navigator for the MTB 102 on her trips to Dunkirk with Blofield & Brundall Sea Scouts. after her restoration.

The loan of a USB plug socket would have really helped as I forgot mine .As a listed building , it doesn`t have modern wiring resulting in my error leaving me unable to ring the hotel from my own room or stay in contact with Suffolk Chamber Orchestra members I was there to meet after checking in ? This was an issue that is easily resolved . I did note the shower glass plate bottom swivel point needed a clean .Other than these points all was Above Board and Bristol Fashion & Tickety Boo !

We enjoyed our stay very much (4 nights). The room was comfortable and a good size, with a nice view of the sea. The bed was large and comfortable. The location is very good and the staff was friendly. Breakfast is included. We didn't want full English but it is available, when pre-ordered the day before. The continental breakfast is very simple, which was fine but something to be aware of.

We heard some sounds from neighbouring rooms, but it can be expected in an older building. There were no toiletries in the bathroom.

It's not for everyone.. It's basically like walking into a large home and being told to relax and take a seat on the couch. But the staff are lovely, it is not expensive, it is clean. The rooms are massive. The honesty bar really adds to the feeling you are at home. There are multiple sitting rooms and a snooker table. And it is rarely full, meaning it almost feels like you rented an entire house.

Very limited in soaps for the bathroom. The staff are often hard to find or not present at all. But compare that to say an overzealous B&B owner watching your every move and it could be a plus.

Fantastic location- over the road from Lowestoft's lovely beach. Warm welcome- room was on first floor but is also accessible (has lift/ stairlift/ raised toilets and handrails) if needed. It is just full of memorabilia, as it is normally a holiday home for ex- services & veterans. Room fully equipped, comfy and warm. Choice for breakfast- we had full English. Freshly cooked and lovely. Great to hear about plans for next year from host. Fantastic stay!!

Nothing really. You can hear traffic from road as lorries navigate the raised -sleeping policeman humps on the road & of course there are seagulls (I don't mind them- as grew up in Lowestoft)

Liked everything. The hosts and staff were great. Breakfast first class. Guest house was clean and tidy throughout.the bedroom was spot on, cannot fault beds or room. Kettle, tea coffee and hot chocolate in room.We were in room 4, great sea view. Hosts made us feel at home straight away. Cannot do enough for you. All the memorabilia in the guest house was great to see. Claremont pier across the road with 2 bars arcade fish and chip shop. Ice cream stalls. Just 15 minute walk and you are at the harbour and town centre shops.we will definitely go back to kitcheners. First class.

Hotel was in a great location with a welcoming and helpful team! Room was very comfortable and the house itself lovely had a very homely feel with all the various social/entertainment areas, feeling comfortable being able to spend time in them. Particularly liked the 3/4 snooker table that was fun! The decor and information around was fascinating and added to the history Breakfast was also very good!

The only improvement I would suggest is the shower in our room had very little pressure and kept changing temperature, there was also no shower gel just a bar of soap which wasn't new

The guest house has a sea view and it is a short descent to the beach. The breakfasts were good, although you had to know the night before what you wanted. However, there was a good variety and plenty. Strangely, there is nothing in the description to mention that it is primarily a holiday home for former members of the armed forces. The first day, we were chatting with a couple of Chelsea Pensioners! The room was well-stocked with tea-making facilities. There were enough restaurants around, some of which offered discount to Kitchener guests.

We booked a double room and when we arrived, we were given a twin, with two single beds on opposite sides of the room. When we queried this, we were told that was the only room available. The next day, the proprietor told us all rooms were configurable and the beds could be joined together. It is a shame no-one did that before our arrival or told the member of staff on duty when we arrived.

Very good location. Just a short walk from the seafront with gardens and seating areas outside the property and across the road. Lift access to the upper floors Separate lounge areas decorated with memorabilia from Army, Navy and RAF.. (RAF room has a very good library). Hotel supports both serving military members and veterans, and has a regular program of events, talks etc. Very good atmosphere. Friendly staff and good choice from breakfast menu. Vegetarian options available. Happy to recommend this guest house/ hotel. Local shops and takeaways 2 minutes away (turn left, then left again). Town centre shops about 15-20minute walk.

Nothing. If you need anything during your stay, just ask.
