The location was excellent for me. I travelled up from Maidstone in the evening and arrived very late. The morning staff were very helpful and, too late of course, said they would have sorted a better room. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful.

Somewhat restricted in my walking nowadays I requested a ground floor room. I was informed that single rooms are all on the first floor and why had I asked. The reality was two flights of stairs full up and half down and the room was a long walk. The only window was a dormer high in the ceiling which required standing on the bed to open.

I was a bit apprehensive as review rating quite low, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff in the hotel were all lovely and helpful. Especially the two receptionists sat night/sun morning. It was a Saturday night, so the bar and garden were very busy, but good vibe..bed comfortable, good shower, room clean. Some carpets may look a bit tired, but it's mid range and you get what you pay for.. it was well worth it for me. Breakfast was great, and not overpriced the coffee good. The young lad in restaurant was very friendly and helpful too. I would definitely stay again.

No hairdryer. Broken handle on shower door, not an issue, but it's good for management to keep on top of these things. Walls are quite thin. I could hear neighbours talking into the early hours but did not keep me awake.

Excellent breakfast the location was in beautiful countryside at the back of the property with beautifully kept beer garden. The staff were very pleasant and helpful..The eve meal was delicious and the lovely waitress went out of her way for my vegetarian friend ti see uf something else could be cooked for her as she had an achy tummy.Another option was offered thankyou.

The chambernaids had not restocked the teabags nor had they left enough towels for 2 people.We found a bag of clementines in a drawer and a piece of paper in another ,so obviously drawers had not been cleaned. The t v control was missing and Kalami was very attentive and brought us more teabags,towels, and other t.v handsets. Whilst he was in the room I spotted the remote down beside the bed and bedside table. So your chambermaids need to just be mindful of what should be in the room for the next guests.Tge general cleanliness of the room was very good.

Opted for breakfast and dinner for the duration of our stay, the food was amazing each time, very generous breakfast size for the price as well! The room's were great as well, beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean and well kept. Staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful, amazing service from them across the two nights.

Shower was quite week but it was fine overall. While the food was great the service was very slow, often with a mostly empty restaurant, but even then the quality of the food was worth the wait. Small nit-pick but the mains sockets were in a very awkward place in the rooms, so my electronics were often placed on the floor (again very small problem and didn't really impact anything.)

We wanted a short notice night away and when we came across the Strawberry Bank Hotel online we thought this was the type of hotel that we would like. We had drinks in the main bar and some starters to share between the two of us that were exceptional. We booked in for breakfast for next morning and both myself and my partner agreed that it was the best hotel breakfast that we have had. There was plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order. Both the bacon and sausage in particular were of great quality and cooked to perfection. All the staff were cheerful and couldn't do enough for you and we can't wait for our stay on Valentines Day

We did unfortunately have an issue with our room initially and had to switch rooms due to the main light constantly flickering, the connection for one of the wall lights by the bed being loose and the toilet was black with something that had previously been left and not flushed away previously but after going to reception and explaining, the issue was rectified quickly and we were allocated another room, with several apologies given by the lovely gentleman on reception and we were more than happy with this.

Booked for the Back to the Beginning Black Sabbath gig as it was excellent value compared to Birmingham hotels on that weekend. Tricky to get back to late at night but during the day there was a bus from close by the hotel going straight into Birmingham centre. The room itself was basic but good, we didn’t try the breakfast but appreciated the tea making facilities in the room. Staff were available 24 hours and were friendly and helpful.

Our shower screen was broken. Our room was quite noisy as it was next to the car park.

Room was absolutely fine, though a little warm in the heatwave weather we had been having. Everything as expected. Dinner in restaurant was good. Staff all good

It would have been nice to have a little more choice at breakfast - the basic cereals, cooked breakfast items, OJ and coffee were all good but I would have preferred a continental option (some pastries) and perhaps some yoghurt. Some signs of neglect in places - paint a little tired, only one Iron in hallway and it was contaminated so didn't risk using it. No signs to reception from 'bar' entrance.

breakfast - - buffet style - help your self breakfast on a morning served here - very good. room - - ensuite shower room with toilet and sink and very thin toilet paper - room rating - average. dinner - - we had a sunday dinner - 2 courses starter and main course - - king prawns on toast with water cress - starter. and main course - - trio meat - belly pork, beef two small slices , and chicken leg, breast - with carrot, parsnip and four roast potatoes , with an extra veg side orders of mash potatoe and caulifl;ower cheese, cabbage for 2 persons sunday dinner - - both courses were cooked perfectly and were absolutely excellent quality - - both of us would recommened to anyone. and we will be coming back here sometime very soon staying sunday evening to have two sunday dinners again !! n + n hayward - gloucester - - sat 14th/sunday 15th/monday 16th december 2024.

Nice place, lots of parking space ,nice exterior and interior the place appeared far better than expected for the price I paid. Breakfast was good but cost extra (worth it).

Finding the place - largely due to road works, road closures and a busy road system that seems to be designed to confuse. I finally found it by coming up from the south on the M42, when I was initially coming down from the north! A sat-nav might have helped or it may have added to the confusion. Bathroom light / fan failed, heater did not work (it may simply have been switched off). Room was warm enough without it.
