The breakfast was superb! It had every option possible. Was great quality food. We enjoyed it very much. I have a dairy allergy and there was plenty options for me as well as all the alternative milks available. Went a druve to St Ostel beach. Lovely beach. Self catering apartments were well equipped. Comfortable bed. Good range of TV channels. Good WiFi signal. Lovely views. Peaceful resort. Big fans in room which we needed on at night, due to the heat in the apartment.

No bars or restaurants nearby of walking distance. No public transport nearby such as a local bus. Limited to eating and drinking at restaurant. Quiet resort. No entertainment. Sauna shower wasn't good. Pressure low and not cold at all. Jacuzzis weren't great. No steam room. Apartment too warm to sleep well. But it is summer!

Meals and spa facilities were all excellent. Accommodation in the Shepherd's Huts, very luxurious but minor points of comment, see below. Staff were all lovely.

Minor points, wouldn't stop me visiting again. You might think about moving the wee wooden shelf above the wash basin in the Shepherd's Huts bathrooms, difficult to wash your face without hitting your head on the corner! Also, lovely though they may be, fine china mugs and glasses in a smallish space are not really safe with a Belfast sink! And, probably the most important safety item, the steps to the door are very narrow and with small feet myself, I still had to place them sideways on the steps to walk down them, can't imagine if you have size 10s!

Well equipped studio. Very clean. Lovely restaurant with good food. A nice relaxing location. Very quiet.

Having to book times for breakfast and a swim. For example only left with the choice of 8am or 10am for breakfast and advised if we turn up outwith the allocated time slots we might not get in. It meant we had to plan our whole day around what slot we could get for breakfast and a swim. No loungers by the pool so unless you pay extra for the spa experience it is a jacuzzi and a swim only. It might have been helpful to have had a brochure describing what was available in the resort including the extra for the spa as we were not informed of this as we did not have the app.

The location was excellent and the leisure facilities were very good especially the infinity pool.

The restaurant service could have been better. The staff were lacking in basic greetings and showed little personality or enthusiasm giving the impression that what they were doing was a chore. Something as simple as 'good evening/morning, how are you today' would have been welcomed. Small things like no spoon provided when soup was served, having to ask for additional sauces, excessive wait for drinks to be brought to the table, getting the order wrong these all detracted from the restaurant experience.

The accommodation was amazing, right beside Portavadie port with awesome views across to Tarbet. The apartment was very spacious, and well equipt and spotlessly clean, the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful during our stay, the outdoor infinity pool and jacuzzi's with views across to Tarbet is an amazing experience anytime of the year, the staff on Saturday 12th April went above and beyond by keeping our luggage for the day, we visited Tarbet which is only 25 minutes on the ferry, Ostel bay beach by the Bothey is a beautiful beach with breathtaking views with white sand and not many people 😀 Kilbride bay is further along the coast, the views are just amazing, some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland

A beautiful place with outstanding food, dinner and breakfast. The team are extremely friendly and the lodge rooms (where we stayed) clean and tidy. The spa is something special (we went on a sunny day), the views are amazing, the heated outdoor pool and partial glass sauna my favourite.

The spa closed at 5:30 in the afternoon and you have a free 90min session once a day if you purchase accommodation. By the time we travelled to this hotel from Cornwall we arrived at 6pm hoping to use the pool to relax from the long drive. I should have checked times before travelling so thats on me but still think 17:30 is early to close the spa facilities.

Loved the relaxed atmosphere and location. Accommodation was spotless with quality bedding and the most comfortable of beds. A wee issue that the fridge didn't work very well but the kitchen was well equipped for self catering.

As with previous reviews, I have to agree that staff were quite uptight. Any offer of a friendly word was snubbed. Not very friendly or chatty and a little frosty. I was advised that from the patio of the studio apartments that there was a view of the Loch but it was so overgrown I just looked out to bushes.

The setting is beautiful, and the property really makes the most of it. We stayed in the cottages and the view of the marina is lovely with a nice seating area to enjoy. The leisure facilities are also well situated to make the most of the views - exactly like the pictures. Breakfast was included in our stay and the service was impeccable. All the staff couldn’t do enough for us.

Some of the property is looking a bit tired. The cottage has all the amenities we needed, and while none of this spoiled our stay, some the cottage and communal facilities are well worn, and the cottage windows are starting to fail in a couple of places - affecting the view out from the living area. The opening times for the leisure facilities are too short. It would have been nice to be able to use the pool before breakfast and in the evening, and potentially an adult only session to make it more relaxing. But again this didn’t stop us enjoying the facilities, it just meant we had to plan our day around availability.

I booked one of the cottages, which on arrival we were very impressed with both the size, modern features and cleanliness. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen equipment etc plentiful. We used the Spa three times during our visit utilising the one and half hour slots to the full on each occasion. Spent all the time in the outside heated infinity pool and the two heated jacuzzi's which were amazing. Weather was touch and go, but did not detract from any of our activities we had organised. The complimentary round of golf on the Kyles of Bute golf course was very much enjoyed.

Spa was amazing, food at the marina was lovely, staff were very attentive, cabin was gorgeously appointed with a very comfy bed and all the home comforts too. We enjoyed the spa both days and a lovely walk to the coast line past kirsty's bench and the ghost village to enjoy stunning views of Arran. Amazing couples retreat, we will be back!

Loved every thing, but to add the cherry on top id suggest hot tubs at few more of the properties (only current available at one) - I would pay a little extra for that if there were options and still attend the spa. I would also suggest a little live music on a Saturday night perhaps just to add that last piece of atmosphere (just a guitar and singer rather than anything too loud and rowdy).
