Brilliant, such a lovely guesthouse, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunnyside and Lorna was just lovely. we felt welcome and relaxed from the moment we arrived. great room and on-suite, breakfast was spot on and we found it the perfect place to stay, would 100% recommend all day long. Lorna went above and beyond, Lorna took the time to tell us about the Isle and its attractions to boot, she also cycled up to the ferry terminal after we'd left to deliver a ring I'd left in the bathroom on our departure, thank you very much, what a kind thing to do, we wish all guest houses could be so friendly and welcoming, perfect :) Jason & Lynne

Lorna was a superb host. She could not have been friendlier and was a font of knowledge about the island. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious, home-cooked by Lorna. The location was perfect, right on the front and a short walk or cycle to the ferry.

Our room felt a little dated and a little tight for space, but it was incredibly comfortable and cosy, and it was not an issue for the two of us. What the house lacks in glamour, it makes up for in character, and you can tell that it's a very special home.

Was really well looked after and the owner went above and beyond what I have usually experienced got to know you and had a wealth of local information to share which enhanced my holiday. So friendly too breakfast was more like being in company of friends, which as a solo traveller I enjoyed. Was a lovely spacious family room on the ground floor with excellent seaview.

There was nothing really as owner available at all times to respond to any questions and provided me with her mobile number.

The absolute perfect getaway experience at Sunnyside! The room facilities were excellent and came with a fabulous view from the bay window. Breakfast quality and quantity outstanding and Lorna was happy and enthusiastic in her recommendations of what Bute has to offer. This accommodation is ideal for a relaxing stay within a very pleasing home. Thank you very much Lorna for a lovely couple of nights at Sunnyside.

I chose Sunnyside House Hotel because of the price and its location. It's right on the seafront a short walk from the ferry terminal. The owner Lorna made me feel like part of the family right from the start. I loved the full the full Scottish breakfast in the mornings and would definately stay there again.

The rooms aren't massive but they do have everything you need and it was much better than I expected for the price.

Perfectly positioned in Rothesay for all the local restaurants and pubs and places to visit. The breakfasts were amazing and the room was so cosy and comfortable with everything you need for that perfect stay. The host Lorna was fantastic and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Will definitely be back when visiting again.

There was nothing to dislike

The location was perfect lovely view ,room was great on suit fully stocked with water ,tea,coffee etc comfy beds Nothing was too much for Lorna she made us feel welcome . So much so that my grand daughter has requested we return again 😃 the morning we were leaving Lorna made our breakfast earlier than the set time as we were getting a early ferry which again wasn’t to much bother for her amazing customer service and appreciated First time staying over on Rothesay and thanks to our great experience at Sunnyside House it won’t be our last oh and the breakfast was Amazing cooked to perfection .

I booked at the Sunnyside to enjoy the sea view of Rothesay Bay. My room (No.1) had massive picture windows giving a fabulous view of the whole bay. The room was very comfortable and well equipped, the full cooked Scottish breakfast was outstanding, and the owners were delightful, friendly and most helpful. This was the best place I have stayed for a long time and was far more than I had hoped for.

The breakfast was lovely - full cooked breakfast, with options for cereal, yoghurt, or fruit. The location is excellent, only a short walk from the ferry terminal and historic sites around the town, plus easy to get the bus to other parts of the island. Extra bonus was the lovely view of the bay and access to a living room looking out over it.

The property was charming, clean comfortable and relaxed. Our room was large, bright and airy with plenty of storage, plenty of comfortable pillows, comfortable seating and with the MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWS of the sea. The host Lorna was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was BEAUTIFUL as was Lorna’s homemade bramble jam with attention to detail and remembering what each person liked. Beautiful views in the dining room also with a comfortable seating area. Location was great with a lovely 10 minute stroll on the front to the ferry port and centre of Rothesay.

There was nothing we did not like about the property. Our room was on the ground floor and we had our own personal shower room on the ground floor which was decorated beautifully and only used by us.
