The location was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food in the cafe and restaurant was fantastic.

Unfortunately, some of the electrics in our room needed updating, mainly the ones next to the bed, my husband has sleep apnoea and has to use a CPAP machine, but the staff supplied us with an extension lead so that helped. Also, we had a problem with our dinner on the Saturday, we had a very long wait for our food due to being a chef down, but the staff were very apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks, the food was great once it did arrive!

Location, staff really friendly and helpful. When i called to ask about having a ground floor room due to mobility issues staff could not have been more helpful. So glad they also at time asked about doing the £50 upgrade for check in/out, slippers, daily chef special and other little extras etc so worth the money.

Only thing was the room was so hot on one of the nights struggled to get to sleep and in the morning founf fan in wardrobe, maybe helpful in future if reception were to say its there or a note in room as noticed all rooms did the same as us and had window and door open throughout night.

The views were amazing from the restaurant and cafe. Our room was very clean and had everything we required. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was really good with plenty of choice, and the main courses of the evening meal were delicious. We will definitely be back to stay in the future.

The only negative was our desserts in the evening, as we had to wait over an hour and there seemed very little effort in preparation or presentation. My chocolate tart looked like it was popped out of a packet with a blob of ice cream, and my partner's deconstructed cheesecake was several blobs on a plate. It was a let down after such good main courses.

The View from the hotel was amazing 👏 We were there only for 1 night but once I parked my car I knew that me and my partner will love the area . Next time we'll come in for 2 or 3 nights and I'm sure now that I'll enjoy that view from the hotel bar . It was really nice time to explore all the area incl. Weymouth and The Durdle Door . The breakfast was really great and hotel staff was very helpful. We had a double standard room but we were satisfied with our choice coz the main reason for stay was to explore the town ,area and beautiful beach. So overall it was amazing weekend.

Room sadly did not live up to expectations:Specifically requested a ground floor bedroom.On arrival was allocated room up several stairs. Thankfully Denise intervened and was able to accommodate us in ground floor room,(although it would have cost more but was given a reduction under circumstances.Bed in the room seperated in the middle and was uncomfortable. No bathrobe or slippers

A warm welcome from Denise on the front desk, a warm, comfortable room. I would recommend staying here just for the views. The food was lovely. The staff were all friendly and although the restaurant was unexpectedly busy we were served a lovely meal with night views across the Chesil beach and Weymouth Bay. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of items to choose from. Breakfast was very relaxed and unhurried with no staff fussing around you to clear the tables quickly ... All together a lovely overnight stay for my wife's birthday weekend.

This is in no way a complaint as it was an unprecedented occurrence in an off season and we fully appreciated the staff were doing everything they could and kept us informed. Due to it being out of season, the amount of " walk ins" took everyone by surprise This in no way detracted from the service and overall experience.

It was very quiet, the staff were ultra friendly and it was an ideal base. The views from the restaurant, bistro and cafe bar are absolutely stunning just like the photos. Less than 10 minutes to Weymouth and about the same into Portland bill which is also worth a visit. Try the lobster pot restaurant and cafe there, I can recommend the crab and prawn sandwiches. While on the subject of food, going back to the Heights restaurant, the food on the main menu is out of this world, from what we saw the bistro servings were also impressive. My wife and I will definitely be returning to the Heights again. Thank you to all concerned for making our stay unforgettable for all the right reasons.

Fantastic view over Chesil beach and Portland Harbour. Excellent choice for breakfast to suit all dietary requirements from a Traditional British Fry up to veggie / vegan. Booked a Superior size room which was a good size with King Bed, Bathroom with Large Bath with shower.

Very poor wi-fi strength ( signal kept dropping out VERY annoying ) in are Room/ Area of hotel. Please get it sorted owners of Portland Heights Hotel. One small and might be looked on by some as unimportant but there were never enough milk pots / tubes with the tea/coffee making facilities, although if you popped down the reception they always supplied more willingly.

Superb Location. Come here every year & our 1st stay with the Height Hotel. Bit dated and basic rooms but clean and comfortable. Best views on Portland ( especially at Sunset) from the upstairs bar/restaurant. Easy access to the coastal walk along the cliffs which is a must, including all the Portland Stone carvings. Lovely place to stay.. friendly staff, cafe is very good too . Plenty outdoor seating too

Nothing to dislike Apart from basic back dates rooms. Not really a complaint

The hotel is in a great central and high position and affords tremendous views accross Portland, Weymouth and the Jurrasic Coast. The food was good in both the Restaurant and Cafe. The staff without exception were brilliant throughout our stay, polite, helpful and hardworking.

The Hotel is a bit dated now but all areas were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our room was in need of redecoration but was comfortable and clean. The ensuite bathroom was small and was an internal room with no windows or ventilation. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not operate with the light switch and had no separte switch. Ours was a first floor room so we were able to leave the windows open for ventilation in any case.
