I recently stayed at this hotel with my two children, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The entire place was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even adjusting the food menu to suit our needs. What really made our visit extra special was the thoughtful gesture from the hotel manager, who surprised my kids with a gift box filled with treats. It was such a kind and personal touch that made us feel valued and appreciated. Everything about our stay was perfect, and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for families. We’ll definitely be coming back

The grand old building is in such good order. Staff are attentive and know what you need before you do. Room was immaculate and the breakfast buffet and menu are extensive and excellent quality. Fabulous Margaritas in the beautiful bar.

The sat nav was useless in finding the hotel. It's set up high above the ring road and you access Victoria Station Road via Furnival Road near the Blonk Street junction. You drive past the Best Western Hotel. Took a bit of working it out in the rush hour on a Friday night. The private function on Saturday night meant no access to the bar area in the evening and the party went on till late. We were so tired from exploring Sheffield we slept fine.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and possibly the best meal we’ve had in a hotel.

We arrived at 4pm , 2 hours after check in opened to be told that the bookings for the previous night extended their check outs so our room wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be ready until approximately 7pm. We were offered 2 complimentary drinks each which was appreciated however due to their being a conference and the entire Swansea City football team (the late check out from the day before) it was very chaotic and crowded in the bar area and was very overwhelming at times. I felt we could have been contracted prior to our arrival to inform us of the delay.

Friendly staff, location is close to city centre and plenty of parking available Didn't hear any noise at night

Touch ups needed in the room and mattress is super firm wasn't keen on taking a £50 deposit on arrival although it was given back to us we've stayed in many hotels before and this is the first time it's happened I can understand why they do it so people don't do runners without paying for their bill View out the room not so great but that's not anyone's fault just for anyone booking please don't expect lovely views because its not the only views you'll get is of Sheffield city centre

Bedrooms were spacious and well furnished. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were lovely. Good selection at breakfast

I was under the impression breakfast was included in my original price as this was specified on my booking. So that was an extra £48 on top of the £306 I had already paid. Had £100 charged to my card for breakfast and parking. Have not been refunded the £40 overpayment. Will contact the venue however I was informed this would happen automatically.

Room 214 was elegant and spacious with all the needs a guest requires for a short stay in the city whether for business or pleasure. QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) Breakfast was a sumptuous Buffet of Hot and Cold/Continental, English and Yorkshire. All the Crown Plaza Team where both friendly and attentive make the guest feel special and cared for. We had the pleasure of meeting John Conroy one of the co-owners of Hotel Crown Plaza (Hermann Beck and John Conroy) whom was most interested to know if we were enjoying our visit and stay of which we were delighted to proffer our delectations and enjoyed our discourse and discussions!

Room 412 has a small bathroom disproportionate to the expansive 2 x double bedded Room. The narrow bath and shower unit was almost dysfunctional - would be better to loose the bath and engage a large modern shower unit. Equally loose the bidet and install a double sink more appropriate for a 2 x double bedded room. Please install a functioning/reachable toilet roll holder!

We really loved it here, it was a nice old building with lots of features. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was really comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was amazing, the French toast is highly recommended. Parking is easy and close by at £6 per 24 hours. The location is great for a wide range of food and nearby attractions

The desserts are not very good as they are not made in house. Also our toilet was crammed in between the bath and shower. This place was still 10/10 for us though because the positives were amazing!

Rooms clean, beds large and comfortable; housekeeping and other staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast range varied and good. The breakfast was included in the price paid. Parking close by. Like the fact that the building had a history and connection with the railways- it had a Victorian feel. Appreciate being able to book a family room.

Resent being asked to pay for parking as a guest at a hotel. This seems a way of adding to the headline price. Bathroom a wee bit cramped- probably because this was a family room with two large beds.

Very grand & historic building, really friendly staff, excellent customer service, plenty of parking. Fabulous breakfast, lots of choice in lovely dining room. Clean bedroom and good en-suite.

Minor niggle, as lighting in the bar during the evening was very bright and the Christmas music a bit too loud & jolly. Some relaxing music, plus lower lighting would create better ambience. The blue velvet sofa is the most uncomfortable sofa on the planet - lt looks great, but try sitting on it !

The rooms were very big. The breakfast very good and excellent range but the coffee was not nice.

Short staffed in bar.The price of drinks at bar was a touch expensive even with recent inflation. £7 for Guinness is too much. Also there was a television blaring away in the corner bar showing kids films. Given the time night and that no kids around asked for it to switched off. She said would check with manager if ok, then never kids, sge forgot as too busy due staffing.
