It's a very sweet little Inn in the lovely village of Stoney Middleton, we only saw 1 member of staff but she was friendly and helpful. We ate dinner out choosing the fish and chips just down the road which was delicious and then went back to a very clean and nicely decorated room with on suit. The breakfast was delicious and good value and they make a cracking cuppa.
I dropped only 1 point because the car park and path leading to the rooms were quite messy, items dumped, litter and a lot of cigarette butt's. I appreciate that the path to the rooms is also the path to the beer garden so would expect to find a cigarette dimps but it worried us as to the state of the room we would get but as I say we couldn't fault the room, it was clean, cosy and comfortable. Over all a very enjoyable stay.

Our room was clean and spacious with good facilities. The shower was nice and hot.Beds were comfy and heating was good in form of small electric radiator. Shaz from the pub was lovely and very caring, keeping a look out for Mum when I was out with the dog.
Although the doors were wide enough for a wheelchair and there were no steps I would not describe the room/shower as accessible. The shower had no grab rails, there was a small step in. The toilet was positioned in an awkward place with little room for your knees and no framework for support for a disabled person. This meant I had to supervise Mum everytime she needed the toilet. She couldn't have a shower. It was O.k for us but a bit disappointing in terms of accessibility

Very friendly family run pub. We were a group of 5 friends and had 2 rooms with a very comfortable bed each. The rooms were very spacious and quiet as overlooking the beer garden. Delicious breakfast included in the price. Ate at the pub in the evening, the food was very good too. We were staying over to visit Chatsworth House the next day which is only 10 minutes away in the car so perfect location for us!
The pub is on a very busy road but once you've parked in their free car park you can't hear the road at all.

My goodness it’s hard to write this is a few lines but honestly it was heaven ! The location was perfecta lovely young girl greeted us , the staff were friendly helpful and made time to give us great advice and guidance about the area and what to see. On our first night Josh served us and made us feel so at home we had a lovely table next an huge open fire the home cooked food perfect on a cold winters night Josh made sure we had everything . Sadly it’s so rare to find staff like that now a days !! Every where was spotlessly clean . It has snowed a lot our room was cosy warm . We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast each morning served again by a lovely staff.Everything was beyond perfect but truly the staff made our stay extra special we will always remember our stay at the Moon Inn in the deep midwinter . A truly hidden Gem .
Having to leave !!!🥺

We stayed in the garden room which was very spacious and the bed was so comfy. Even though the staff were extremely busy, they were always friendly and pleasant. We had breakfast both mornings which was really nice and ate in the pub for Sunday roast which was outstanding! And as a gin lover, the choice of gins was amazing. We stayed there as we were visiting chatsworth house and Christmas market and ideal location. Will be back next year for sure!
The extracter fan from pub was quite noisy and if you are a light sleeper this could be issue if staying in the garden room as it runs all night.

The staff are very good, friendly and helpful. The pub has a nice welcoming atmosphere. Generous amount of tea and coffee in the room which was very nice to have especially as the weather was not great. The room I had was attached to the pub, the rooms have outside access, again this was very useful if you are returning from a walk soaking wet and not having to go through the pub. The village is historically interesting, quite a bit to explore here. You get a very hearty breakfast to fuel up for exploring this varied landscape and the many trails all close to the village.
It's primarily a walkers pub, the carpets in my room had seen better days, it's probably dog friendly too but I am not sure. Don't expect the Savoy is all I am saying.

Food was lovely-great pie! Breakfast was pretty good too. - maybe some might say they want more variation, though it suited us. Friendly staff and friendly area in general. Nice atmosphere with the fire. Rooms were clean enough-have seen some negative comments - it is an old inn so it's never going to be like a slick modern hotel. We wanted a bit of atmosphere.
If you're really looking for something to find fault with - maybe outside could be tidied up a bit, but then it's winter, wet and grey.

Good sized modern rooms comfortable bed nicely presented.staff were friendly and attentive. Shower was good, nice sized bathroom. Able to take the dog in all areas. Food was very nice evening food and breakfast all cooked and presented nicely. Homemade food is always a winner and didn't disapoint but there was a shortage of some things on the menu seems to be happening in alot of places just lately not just here but alternatives were still excellent quality. Would definitely stay here again

Everything, location, staff, drinks choice, menu choice, pet friendly, the staff upgraded our room to an apartment so as to give us more room with our dogs, family run and very well run..easy reach to bakewell and the Monsal trail actually several minutes by car.. close to a Indian restaurant, many other hotels and spar for any forgotten essentials..loads of dog walking places less than a minute from the moon inn.
The A6 is the main trunk road from Manchester and Stockport so expect a little noise from heavy traffic this didn't spoil the trip away..

Nice village inn. Good food, good beer, friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent shower. I only stopped over for one night on my way south but this would make for a good base to explore the area on a longer break. Good free WiFi, no personal data harvesting required.
It fronts onto the main road through the village which gets busy from quite early in the morning so there's some traffic noise that isn't conducive to a lie in.
