Our room was a lovely large comfortable room with a large bed. Bathroom with bath and shower. Breakfast was fantastic value and one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. The hotel is wonderfully situated right on the seafront and very close to a main bus route into Sunderland city centre. Parking was plentiful and conveniently positioned.

The restaurant menu was a little limited with an Asian theme which is not for everyones taste. They did do a simple bar menu which was good.

The reception was excellent, efficient, cheerful and organised. Secure parking included. Public spaces were pleasant and well maintained Our room was lovely,. Clean, spacious and well equipped. We had sufficient towels, hair dryer, iron and in-room tea facilities.Large TV. Good lighting. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower and was stocked with soap etc. Bed was large, firm and comfortable. Housekeeping were very friendly Breakfast was excellent (Buffet style).and in a lovely space Again, staff were very friendly.

Nitpicking, our room was a little too warm and the tea at breakfast is pre-made in an urn so a little too stewed.

Location is excellent right next to the beach

Facilities of the pool, the bar & decor are great but it was not great that room service menu was so limited and no option for children’s meals. No good options available for children gif room service and although the bar menu looked nice they room service was a limited Asian style menu with no other option if you wanted to eat in the room or don’t like that stylus if food With having the children and no food option for them and food on room service not quite what we like had to take children out late to find somewhere outside to bring food back

The welcome we got from the lovely male receptionist. Excellent customer service and clearly loves his job! Lovely guy! Dark hair possibly chinese. Needs a pay rise

We where swimming and the young lady at the check in was sat chatting to some one in the jacuzzi, there was a group of lads trying to check in and they got a bit rowdy and climbed through a gap. Staring at us in the pool shouting for the girls attention. We felt un comfortable so got out and shouted over to her someone's trying to get your attention. She shouted back ill be 2 minutes!! By this point the lads where in the pool area. We grabbed our towels and left. Later saw the girl looking stressed on reception. Hope she's OK she did a lovely job checking us in. Think them lads where a bit of a handful

Excellent position on the seafront overlooking a very attractive bay. Fantastic long lower promenade close to the sea and only five minutes from the hotel. Perfect place for walking or exercise, huge stretches of clean sands and the sea in all its moods feeling close by. Comfortable beds, lovely big rooms and amazing sea views.

I liked it all except for the lack of choice in the restaurant which only served Asiatic (Thai food ) and did not cater for Coeliacs. The bar served the usual bar food but all they could offer me was sandwiches made with gluten free bread. Breakfast was better with gluten free cereals available and gluten free bread but no toaster to prevent cross contamination. The advice on the menus that there was no guarantee of gf food not having been cross contaminated in the preparation of food meant that I had to eat sandwiches brought from home whenever my family ate an evening meal in the hotel.

Lovely beach front property and we had a sea view which was lovely. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely night stay in an incredibly comfortable bed.

This is the 4th time staying here and every room we have had has a lack of sockets. On this occasion we had 1 single socket near the dressing table so we had to unplug the fridge to use the hairdryer, then the straightener, then the iron etc. Last year the room was almost half the price of this year but nothing has changed to warrant the price difference. We also had breakfast, I would describe it as edible at best but definitely not worth paying any extra for. It really was a very poor quality breakfast.

I had stayed in this hotel befoe many years ago.I loved it then and it did not disapoint this time either.from the grand stair case in the entrance dec with stunning christmas tree you are greeted by pleasant staff .the rooms had been decorated and furniture updated but still in keep with the hotel. The use of the pool hotbtub sauna and steam room was an added bonus.Even a gym if you wanted.the bar and resteraunt had a cozy homely feel and stunning veiws out on the beach.A short walk to many bars and resteraunts .not to mention the stack . With amazing food warm fire pits and heaters even live music. Then back to the hotel in a room with a veiw a shower and a bath.I cant fault a single thing .Breakfast was lovely with lots on offer .Definately stay again xx

Upon my arrival I was given a room on the lower floor, the window didn’t open and the room had just been painted, so the smell of paint was very strong. I went to reception and asked if it would be possible to be moved due to the situation. Straight away I was given a room on the top floor 356. Room was straight away 10x bigger… had a big window that opened, bathroom was huge and Bed was lovely!! The guy at the reception Think his name was Giano was amazing. Top service. There is a beach right outside the front door, with a load of pubs and restaurants near by not a far walk. Worth the stay.

The room that I was given at first, it was a small tiny box room, no ventilation felt very claustrophobic.

The staff are exceptional. Ronnie was amazing. Haven't had service like this in many hotels. Any little problem fixed straightaway with a smile. The room was spacious and location great. Room maid was so friendly and helpful. Pool and gym a bonus. Lovely. We wished we were staying longer and will return. Asian fusion restaurant food delicious. We went 2 nights - recommend.

Nothing - couple of things in room were fixed by staff quickly. If I have to say anything - please could windows be cleaned to make most of the view!

very well placed on the seafront. lovely walk along front. lovely big room and fab bathroom with separate shower and bath. no clambering over high bath sides. lovely shower and plenty water pressure. breakfast had loads of choice and plenty portions for all. staff friendly and helpful. visited for conference initially and all facilities were good and food lovely. stopped over for extra night and able to relax and enjoy location. staff again were all lovely. nice to see updating into the hotel and decoration - glad not all features removed and some of the old atmosphere retained. really happy have proper wardrobe and put clothes away - not a silly hook and shelf offered as modern alternative in many places now.

my only whinge would be that good central lighting has been abandoned to lots of scattered lighting. gave a lovely atosphete. lovely dressing table which had all the plugs but no task lighting available. in daylight fine from light pouring through large window but not suitable when sat drying hair in undies and want privacy or at night when area became dark and a lot of shadow.
