It’s a fantastic period property. The renovation is under process. Amazing building coping with the effects of age and because of beachfront location coping with effects of Welsh coastal weather. We were upgraded and had the amazing balcony room with the enormous newly renovated bathroom. All staff are superb and do over and above to ensure your stay is perfect for you. The breakfast is as good as any you would have on a TUI holiday with lots of options. You cant beat this hotel for a short stay in Tenby. Come on booking dot com users this is a typical Welsh seaside hotel coping with hard times and still standing and smiling. I will be back for more. We had a lovely stay. The location is fabulous as are the views. Lovely choice at breakfast and good, friendly service. The room had everything we needed for a short stay and good that there were tea and coffee facilities. Room was completely modernised and to a good standard. We had a classic sea view room no. 211 with a gorgeous view of Candy Island.

The room had an open cupboard and no the room had no drawer space? It would be difficult if one was staying for more than a few days. No phone to connect to reception.

The staff were very helpful when we checked in The room we were given didn't have the facilities in it that was on my booking though Booking. Com they did their best to change the room for us but unfortunately they were fully booked and we're very apologetic The staff were very friendly especially Callum the hotel manager who always took his time to speak to you in the evening when we went in the bar for a drink and he always asked how your day had gone He has only been in the job for a few weeks and we wish him all the best with the future of the hotel

The room was very small and had no ironing facilities and no were to hang your clothes not even a coat hanger so we had to live out of our suitcases for our 5 night stay You literally had about foot space each side of the bed and 2 foot of space at the bottom of the bed but had to manover around the cases as their was no were else to put them They said it was a cosy double it should be called a very cosy double The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was lovely

Wow, what place and what a sight! We were booked in unknowingly, days after the bar and restaurant opened after the large-scale refurbishment of the hotel (other areas still being refurbished). In the morning hearing the sound of the sea crash on to the sand, it’s soo soothing. Upon first signing in, we were greeted by the check-in team Tracey and Shannon, they are incredible, so friendly and accommodating. They are so easy to talk to, always wearing a smile and a little cheeky charm from Tracey. Once in our room, (we stayed in room 210,) it was massive, the deluxe bed was amazing, the softest most comfy bed I have stayed in a while! I’m forced to share a hard mattress at home! The carpets are a lovely blue style that we thought create a sea like image on the floor. The bathroom is a great size too, with a lovely shower that has the large head so you can stand under it like you’re in a rain storm, it was amazing. Two large windows really let in the light if you want it but also, for those that are not early morning risers, the net curtains and blackout curtains really block out the light. I swear when looking at all the other hotels across the beach front, none of them were anywhere near as close to the beach as the Imperial hotel and as large a terrace either. Coming on to the night/evening we were served by Mark, Ian and Callum, all very lovely and professional in their roles. It’s all table service there which is nice, I had to remind myself not to keep popping up to the bar haha. We really engaged with Callum, he really made us feel welcome by spending the time to come chat to us and get to know us while sharing a little bit about himself which just made it nicer and even more special. It was like hanging out with friends while we were there which I loved. If you like a Moscow Mule, Callum is your guy, he makes a mean Moscow Mule! The big boss Tracy even had time for us, getting to know us and even kindly taking photos for us outside the hotel.

We were unsure about the scaffolding outside the back part of the hotel as we had paid for a sea view room but I’m glad we didn’t cancel. Looking past the scaffolding, the sea views are incredible and we were blessed with clear sunny days, the sea looked amazing with its sandy beaches, turquoise in colour and fading in to a darker blue. In the distance you can see Caldey island which we visited to see the monks and their monastery, even sent a postcard from the post office on the island.

The Standard Double with Sea View was fantastic. Such a wonderful view of the calm sea and the golden sands below our window. The location of the Hotel is second to none and boasts a prime position within the remnants of the castle wall. The Staff were extremely friendly and the breakfasts a great variety with quality ingredients. Thumbs up to the chef!

The 'patio' area behind the Hotel which should be perfect to enjoy a glass of wine or chilled beer whilst overlooking the sea. Unfortunately a few things let it down and we did not use it again afterwards. The 'rubber' floor mats look like a relic from the 60's and showed signs of tiredness and ingrained dirt. The patio area was covered in litter, and the tables remained dirty or remnants of drink during the time we spent there. It was just a lack of attention to detail, cleanliness and honestly detracted from the rest of the hotel ambience and decor, we just felt it let it down, so we spent our evenings elsewhere.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Imperial Hotel in Tenby. All the staff went above and beyond to make our experience so special. The room was beautiful, with an amazing sea view, incredibly comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and all the amenities you could want. We slept so well and wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel couldn't be better situated to explore Tenby and enjoy the nearby beaches, and the food and drink we had at Essence was second to none. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, probably one of the best experiences we have had and we will definitely be returning!

The Hotel has just had a refurbishment. The rooms and hotel areas; stunning! My congratulations to the designers. The staff are proud of their new space and it shows. Our welcome was lovely. Staff accommodated me when I advised them I would be back at a late hour. The bed - very comfy, the shower- fantastic, the room - spacious. The complimentary refreshments are very nice, along with towels, bedding, and cleansers provided.

The outside bar is yet to be completed, and the lift wasn't up and running when we arrived, but was due to be done by the end of the weekend. All in all, we had a lovely stay with our pooch. This hotel is now up-to-date high-end hospitality. The price of the breakfast reflects this at £15-£20 a head. Taking the price of one-night stays up to £185.00 a night. Including the charge for our dog.

Lovely Hotel in a great location in Tenby. Room was super clean and nicely refurbed equipped with everything you need… (kettle, toilet amenities, waters, coffee,tea and some tasty Welsh cakes!) Staff were super friendly and welcoming and the bar/food area was nicely done and perfect for a drink in the evening. Breakfast was good but could’ve had a slightly better selection for the price. The hot breakfast was lovely though and the service from the staff couldn’t be faulted! We didn’t try the food in the evening but the menu looked good! Thank you, we enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future :)

I like the vibe if the hotel on entrance, with the music felt inviting. Staff were friendly. Location was central to the town, beach, bars, restaurants etc… Nice clean room with everything we needed.

Was a little confused with the signs to reception, little misleading as a newcomer. Anyway we worked it out but was expecting a desk in the hallway. We thought the reception in the bar area was odd, but worked out fine. Fire alarm went off during our stay very briefly made us jump out of bed not knowing weather to evacuate or not, but nobody else did so we stayed put.

When we booked we were aware of major building work being carried out at the hotel and this was reflected in the price we paid. However, our room was in the completed part of the building so was newly refurbished. The rest of the hotel was still a building site but noise was kept to a minimum and we were not disturbed at all. We have stayed here in the past and as usual the staff were absolutely brilliant despite, I am sure, many challenges, we are looking forward to staying here later in the year when the building work has been completed and we can take advantage of the new facilities. Hats off to all the staff.

Given the circumstances everything possible was done to make our stay stress free. Well done staff.
