I was pleased to get a room with a corner bath! Had a few hot & cold soaks before and after the beach visits ;-) also loved Friday karaoke in the bar! Great atmosphere and loads of talent at The Bear :-) landlords were welcoming and friendly.

Not that I didn't like it but perhaps a few suggestions for the room if I could - net curtain for window would be suitable especially during hot summer and when walking around the room naked - don't need no spectators ;-) maybe a portable rail for clothes with hangers, and a hook/rail for towels in bathroom. That's all.

Was clean and functional for the price paid reasonable. Bed had mattress protectors on and was clean. Room was a little cold, heater could have been provided to take chill off. But was offered an alternative on checking in. Room number as lovely and large and well equipped. No food was available but shops within walking distance and lots of restaurants locally. Parking was available to rear of building or on local streets close by wasn’t any issue finding a space. Dogs were welcome but was told extra charge on checking in. Building was easy to find.

Was a door downstairs that was repeatedly used and banged every few moments up to 11 pm heck guys buy a door wedge. Draws in room had debris in from previous guests and didn’t look appealing to put clothes in.

The staff were so friendly to me. I had forgotten essential items for checking in but they let me stay. The room was spotless and warm when I turned the radiator on. I got parked easily onsite. It is so close to the sea front and has great takeaways 5 mins away, fantastic Chinese. They are so dog friendly and my dog was so happy to play with other dogs in the bar and get lots of attention. The locals made me feel so welcome when I arrived and when I went down for a drink in the evening. As a solo female traveller I felt so safe and at home. Thank you team! x

The shower was very cold in the morning despite there being hot water from the tap.

Perfect stay for one or two nights. Lovely staff, James the barman really nice chap & staff will look after you. Great price for what you need on a short stay- Basic but very clean facilities & room. I’d definitely stay here again when passing through on my travels. The pub it’s self is very vintage, & traditional with some very kind and lovely interesting local customer drinking characters, although some folk it may not be there scene but I did. Parking can be a problem-ish (but it is a popular seaside town after all & a beer festival was on that weekend I stayed) trying to be near to the pub, I think I was quite lucky on my first visit here and managed to park (free) 2 streets away, but took me a good 10/15 mins drive around to find one.

I'm a regular guest here at least once a month the staff are brilliant caring welcoming and kind every day you get fresh towels the bins get emptied and the loo gets a clean also if you leave a note asking for things like tea or coffee the staff happily provides your given a key to access the building 24/7 if you want a cheap luxurious stay in Weston-super-Mare the bear is the best choice for you

I have no things to dislike about the bear I will not make something up just to make the review complete

Good location Lovely guest house, food wasn't included which it states that but there was a cafe litually 2 Min walk and loads chip shops and pubs to go to. The room I had was above the bar so was a bit dubious about that but never heard nothing, the floor was very creaky but other then that lovely place to stay

tidy room clean hot shower bed was a little squeaky but ok tv in the room relaxed at night not noisy quite beach was just down the road perfect would def stay there again great value nice private entrance side door .

the shower was a little steep for my liking I nearly fell over but managed to stay upright as I'm in my late 50s stepping out was the problem but either way was ok spacious clean an tidy new loo roll would def a re- take.

Friendly staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived till the day I left the room was very clean fresh bedding and towels without any stains there is a side entrance for when the pub was closed had a clean ensuite bathroom toilet and shower if I had any problems or request the staff where happy to help without delay

Absolutely nothing to not like about the pub or hotel whatsoever there is really nothing to say or anything negative about my stay

Although the building is worn it has character, the staff were great. James the barman went and got a drink for me as the didnt sell what I liked, nothing was too much trouble. Made some great friends, cant wait to come back. Only thing is bedroom could do with a small mirror and maybe a chair. Bedroom was clean, beds were changed. Maids were very pleasant overall we had a great stay

The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. she gave us a decent sized room when she realised we had dogs. nice bar with pleasant customers. good selection of takeaways within walking distance or call to deliver. Clean and tidy.

Quite an old building( but seems to be well maintained) shower could do with upgrading.
