Staff are all lovely, polite and efficient. Location superb, just on the outskirts of town, 2 minute walk to the harbour and the shops and restaurants. The building itsrlf is stunning, beautiful old building. Excellent en suite. Breakfast was delicious, fresh high quality produce, preparef well. Parking available.

Our bathroom bin was full of someone elses rubbish on arrival, only one part used toilet roll (my wife took another from the ladies on the first floor). Some days the bar did not have certain draught beers.

Amazing welcome from the receptionist (Maisie) so professional and engaging. Room was huge, and spotlessly clean, main building was so original with the restaurant bar and reception area. Fantastic location, only two minutes walk on the flat into the Town. Wonderful 3 course breakfast, with amazing staff who where so polite and professional.

Nothing, will be returning very soon.

The location was very good where we were. Just 5 minutes walk into Whitby We managed to get a carparking space. Which was a bonus. Checking in and out was very good. The staff are very friendly and very helpful and kind. The hotel is very old but lovely at the same time The breakfast was very nice.

I didn't like my bed too firm, our floor boards in our bedroom creeked, the bathroom there was molder everywhere, the TV no single, I couldn't really watch it. Disappointed with the TV and bathroom. Because for the price you pay for your room. It shouldn't be like that. It was off putting, you can get a seaview hotel with the same price you pay for cheaper and a better room. And it's not haunted I am a medium, I just wasn't getting it at all. The traffic at night gets very busy, you need ear plugs Will not be staying again

The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very helpful. Our room had everything that we needed and was cleaned well each day. Tea / coffee was replenished and there was no shortage of anything. Everyone was friendly.

Our bed was not very comfortable and also creaked when you turned over so I didn't sleep very well. For some reason, the rooms were hot even though the outside temperature was average and there were no radiators on.

Gorgeous hotel, steeped in History and oozing with character. Everyone was super friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfasts are high quality and choice. We really liked our room, especially the outdoor private patio & a good wifi signal. Really lovely stay with the plus of a well stocked bar and evening dining. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful service and splendid hotel. We'll see you soon x

Perfect location in the centre of Whitby at sea level. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was too good - I put on 5 lbs during my stay.

Not much storage for clothes in our suite. Perhaps asking for a lift to be installed in an iconic fifteenth century building would be too much to ask

Beautiful historical hotel perfectly situated for all the sights. This is how a hotel should be run - spotlessly clean comfortable room with plenty of coffee/teas and toilet rolls so no need to ask for extra. Breakfast was perfectly cooked with plenty of choice served by lovely pleasant staff. Car park a big bonus. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

We loved everything M.

Excellent position for all the activities in Whitby. A lovely evening meal, with one of the best pasta meals I have had. Breakfast was substantial. The room was very comfortable.

Uncertainty over parking. I was lucky to be there when it was quiet, but the weather was bad and would not have liked to have to deal with luggage in an off site car park

Excellent location, literally a two minute walk into town with good parking, breakfast was very good and the staff were polite and helpful. We've stayed in the main hall before, this time we were in the annexe. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable with a large en-suite. Be prepared for some floorboard squeaking from upstairs if you're in the ground floor rooms, to be expected in a building as old as this. It's a little more pricey than some, but you're paying for character, location and good parking. Would definitely recommend, great place.

No real issues, enjoyed our stay.
