The house has a beautiful breakfast/sitting room, had a full english the first day, exceptional! I never eat breakfast normally so it was a treat. I went back to normal for the rest of my stay with just tea, although my brother indulged himself! The whole atmosphere of the place is so peaceful, a lovely environment to be in. The vaulted ceiling is amazing! The location was perfect for our trip, and parking was no problem.

In no way their fault, but make sure your room is locked when you leave! Should have known to do that but I don't get away much so had to learn from my mistake, it won't happen again...pity, what happened after I left rather soured an otherwise brilliant stay.

We had a very warm welcome. We were made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. Our room was lovely, very clean and the bed was lovely and comfortable and we were very cosy and warm and it was December. Breakfast was very nice there was plenty of choice. We had a lovely view from our window. We were looking over the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We watched the steam arriving and returning to the station from our window. The village is beautiful and we enjoyed walking round the village. We will be visiting again.

The owner's welcome on arrival. The room and the view. The availability of fresh milk and chilled water in a guest fridge. The location - it was quiet and peaceful, even though we were very close to the Grosmont station, they were only active during the day. The breakfast was exactly what we had chosen, good quality ingredients and attention to detail. The service was attentive and discreet. The information about local places to dine. The car park.

The duvet was a much higher tog than we were used to, but we got used to it. Although the en suite was small and perfectly formed, the towel rail got very hot and was too close to the toilet. I touched it several times during the stay when I forgot to allow for it.

Private and peaceful with limited but adequate parking. Very clean and a very good breakfast. Ideal for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and a good starting point for the Grosmont to Goathland railway walk. About 20 minutes drive to Whitby.

Room was smaller than expected by reference to photos on the website (clearly not the same room). OK for a couple of nights but would have been problematic for a longer stay. Limited amenities in the village, other than the railway, one pub (with a limited menu) and a cafe, which closed around 3.30pm and a small general store. A couple more pubs a car ride away, for which meal reservations may be needed - we ended up driving into Whitby for fish and chips one evening.

Perfect location for our stay which was a visit on the Pullman Dining Train. Perfect host who couldn't have more friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again.

The breakfast was really good & served in an exquisite dinning room, it real was a beautiful setting, our room overlooking grosmont station was ideal The staff serving were extremely polite & helpful, we even tested out our limited Portuguese on Anne,

The room could have been a bit warmer when we arrived & we struggled a bit with the small shower, but for a short stay we managed & the heating did improve

We were booked on the NYMR dining experience and could not have found a better place to stay. The room was spacious and well thought out. The shower room was lovely with good quality soaps etc. Selma was a lovely hostess and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were cooked to taste and plenty of choice. They provided a good start to the day. In a beautiful setting Grosmont House provided a good base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast, going to Whitby and of course accessing the NYMR.

The house is set off away from the main road down a track. A bit awkward but worth the small bit of hassle. If you have mobility problems there is a flight of stairs plus a few more steps up to the rooms. There is no lift. Normally I would have discounted staying but am so glad I didn't.

The location was just what we needed not far from the station the room was clean comfortable and relaxing the home made bread was just what you need at breakfast the timings for breakfast was perfect.

The sausages was tasteless not what we thought they would be would rather have one large then two small the scrambled egg too runny for me and you had to be careful in the shower as I nearly ended up like a lobster

Great location very near NYMR station and engine sheds. We attended the NYMR Steam Gala and Grosmont House proved ideal for this purpose. Breakfast was superb. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were kind and helpful.

Be aware if arriving on a motorcycle that the entrance lane from the main road to Grosmont House is very rough and has to be treated with the utmost caution.

The breakfast was pre-ordered the night before. The food was excellently prepared & perfectly served. There were 3 types of home made bread & homemade organic marmalade for heavens sake. What more can you expect.

Nothing with the property. To be really nit picky the access road was unmade & a little stony but that applied to all the properties in the locality.
