The hosts/staff were very friendly. The breakfast was lovely and very filling. The evening meal we had was also lovely. The village is beautiful with lovely walks around.

Our room was a little on the small side and the only place we were able to put our dogs bed was in front of the door which was a bit of an obstacle to get over and round to the bathroom in the night, although we do have a labrador so that room would have been better with a small dog instead.

The Board Inn met all my requirements for the area that I wanted to visit. The facility is a mid 18th Century Inn that has been modernised to a high and comfortable standard. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed all the meals that I ate there. The breakfasts were excellent. The evening meals were all of what I might term "high standard bar meals with plenty of choice:" the prices were very good. My room was clean, tidy and comfortable though space was a little "tight" when all my luggage was inside. Lealholm itself is a quiet, small rural village in North Yorkshire though the road traffic can seem very busy. There is a small post office, a general store and a garage/filling station as well as a small shop selling sandwiches and cakes. There are also several small tea shops but visitors should note that these may not always be open for business when they want them to be. That said my visit did rather border on being "out of season."

My one negative issue was reported to the owner before depature.

Great location. Very welcoming hosts. Lovely room, quite small but well set out and very clean and comfortable. Food was delicious and there was seating outside by the river which we made use of with a drink. Lealholm itself is a very nice peaceful village. We will definitely return.

Closes at 9 and being a pub you could only sit in your room or drive into Whitby and surrounding areas. Not a major problem and would still stay again.

The owners Adele and John were very friendly and helpful..the room was clean and beds very comfortable...breakfast was fab and set you up for the day ahead. We had an evening meal aswel and it was fab...the beef n blackbean sauce with rice was lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights and left the used towels in the shower liked asked to on the notice in the bathroom. The notice says if the towels have been uses please put in the shower so they know to get changed for fresh ones...we came back to our room around 7-45pm and the only thing that got changed was the toilet roll the used towels was still in the shower. Glad we kept one or 2 clean ones so we could get showered again without using wet or damp towels. I'm not sure how often everyone else changes towels but a fresh set for 3 of us would of been nice. Apart from that everything else was fab.

A beautiful place to stay inside and outside. Very pretty scenery. We came to go to a wedding at danby Castle our nephew and family were in the same place and we were kindly let to their room to change etc before we could get in our room fabulous. We had our breakfast together that was really kind thanks and the breakfast was delicious.

Can't say I didn't like anything it was perfect for us at the time, I would recommed this place.

It's a beautiful location, we received a lovely warm welcome from the owners and other guests. The room was amazing, well appointed, clean and spacious for such a beautiful old building. The food, dinner and breakfast were delicious. The dinner was well priced and the large breakfast was included in the price. We'd recommend them highly and as a bonus, the TV village of Aidensfield (real name Goathland) from Heartbeat is a few short miles away.

The bacon at breakfast was unsmoked but that's a personal preference NOT a fault. Most places we've stayed only offer unsmoked bacon but it would be nice to be made aware/given the choice.

The location is superb, very quiet and little or no traffic after 21:00. After a 3 hour drive we decided to eat in the Board Inn and not as planned have Fish & Chips in Whitby, I am so glad we did as the Steak & Ale pie is to die for, absolutely delicious and well worth the money. The Breakfast was very well presented and again was absolutely delicious. Thank you to Adele & John for making this quick getaway a lovely and memorable weekend, we definitely will be back. Nothing I didn’t like about this.

We loved our stay at The Board Inn. The hosts were warm, friendly and helpful. The location is picturesque and tranquil. We couldn't fault the room and the breakfasts were spot-on.

The only thing to be conscious of - and it's nothing the inn can help - is taxis that need to come from Whitby can be a little pricey.

The whole experience was great. The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was so cosy real fires, lovely and warm and very Christmassy. We had a very tasty evening meal and there was a good selection of beers and spirits. Breakfast again was great, we had the veggie option, there was plenty to keep you filled up until tea time. We would recommend the Board Inn as a great little pub in a lovely setting and would visit it again next time we are in the area.

Owners were extremely friendly the place was cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was beautiful very good start to the day. Charlie the dog was a little sweetie. Very very clean and well presented Inn. The evening meals we had were also lovely. The Saturday night we had a quiz night and the locals welcomed us which was lovely from them. We had an absolutely wonderful stay will definitely be staying again. Thank you Adele and John. (see you soon).
