This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel and I must say we found it fantastic. Communication was great so when we arrived we knew we could park there early. When we entered the hotel, it felt cozy and comfortable straight away. The lady on reception Cathy checked us in. She was really friendly and showed us up to our room which was a good size and spotlessly clean. It is a dog friendly hotel and they supplied plenty of treats during our stay which Nellie enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again. The hotel is in a prime position in Goathland near to the train station and shops. We enjoyed the walks and will definitely go back again. The food was spot on. A good choice to choose from and the breakfast had something to please everyone. All the staff were friendly and helpful and made our short stay perfect.

There's not much not to like. But when we go again we would probably ask if we could have a room with a view. But that's me just being picky.

The staff were all brilliant. Efficient, friendly and obviously proud of the service they provide. Our room (No 16), had been refurbished recently and was extremely comfortable clean and well equipped. (The only downside was that the view was somewhat limited.) The food (breakfast, bar snacks, and main meals) was universally excellent.

The hotel is going through a refurbishment process. Although the work was relatively unobtrusive, the outside of the hotel still looks a little tired. (Overall, this was a very small price to pay, given the excellent service once we'd stepped through the door!)

Very comfortable, bright, spacious and newly refurbished super king room. Lovely modern bathroom. Ample wardrobe space and a fridge. All spotlessly clean. All staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were superb; all served to us at the table and freshly prepared. Great location close to the station and the heart of the village.

I didn’t enjoy my choice of evening meal (although my husband and friends enjoyed their, different, choices) But after a quiet word with our lovely waitress the issue was resolved immediately without any fuss.

Our room was recently updated with a lovely modern bathroom with under floor heating, a very large comfy bed with good quality bedding and a beautiful view over the moors. We took our 2 collie dogs who got a great welcome from the friendly staff. I was very impressed with the dogs package, being provided with dog bowls, bedding, blankets, towels and doggy bags containing balls, poo bags and dog treats. The food was very good and plentiful, the tasty breakfast giving a great start to the day. There was a lovely open fire in the lounge which we enjoyed while having a pre dinner drink.

There was a good selection at breakfast and the food was well cooked and tasty. The staff were friendly and provided a good service. The evening meals were excellent, a good choice and portion sizes were ample. The hotel was well located for the NYMR and other places of interest in the area. It had a welcoming atmosphere and felt homely.

We booked a standard room which was an adequate size. It would have been good to have had space for another chair.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly. Great food.

The property is in need of repair, looking tied and in need of restoration. Our room was a small cosy double which was clean, extremely warm and a little tied. It rained last night but couldn’t have the window open due to a blocked gutter which dripped onto the conservatory roof all night. There was a fan provided in the room which did help. We stayed last year for the May bank holiday in a standard king room and this year also the May bank holiday but a smaller room and the price had increased by £108 from 2023 in a room half the size.

Location great for walking around the local area and lovely, friendly staff. Our room was recently refurbished and comfortable with a nice countryside view. The breakfast was fantastic and worth setting the alarm for - the other party we travelled with had a dog and even they got a little doggy breakfast.

Wasn’t really a warning of refurbishment when we booked, think the hotel is good but has the potential to be great if the standards are similar to our room. Main areas were tired which is understandable in a well used building but parts could have been presented better. Looking forward to seeing finished results.

The staff were very friendly and courteous and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, catering for all types of diet. Bonus was being greeted by sheep in the garden.

Our room was quite basic but comfortable and didn't have a view which was a shame. However we booked late so we accepted that it was our fault and it didn't spoil our time here as we were out most of the time.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by an extremely friendly receptionist who quickly offered all the information required. The room was welcoming and, despite my reservations being a doggy hotel, extremely clean (a must in my books). The food was amazing, we ate in both nights of our stay. There was a dog pack in the room containing biscuits, toy, and doggy bags should you need them. Staff were lovely. We would certainly come again. Thank you.

No snacks after 4, which left us in a dilemma as we had eaten fish and chips (has to be done by the coast) at lunchtime. We ended going with just a light meal.

Great location. Really lovely staff both at reception and at the bar. Beautiful grounds. Lovely food and bar. Convenient parking. Amazing views. Nice breakfast and again lovely serving staff, nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again

Only thing that was a little bit annoying was the extractor fan which was quite loud and stayed on for a long time after you'd turned the light off, but understand why it's there as no windows in the bathroom.
