Lovely inn located in a quiet rural setting. A good base to explore the local countryside or walking. Good choice of breakfasts and dinners. The rooms were cosy and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. We were especially grateful to the younger guy who worked behind the bar and gave us info on taxis.
Not really a criticism of the inn but people need to be aware that this is in a very remote location and the inn is the only amenity in the village. There are no shops and taxi travel is a little problematic. We had to go to an event in a neighbouring village. We managed to get an Uber there but it was difficult to get an Uber or any other taxi back afterwards. We ended up having to pay £50 for a taxi as the nearest taxi company was 20 miles away. So people need to plan their trips or drive more.

The location was lovely. In the village of Wilmington which was quant and cute. The breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpful and polite. Walking distance to the long man of Wilmington which was a fun hike. The room wasn't huge but it was very nicely decorated and comfy. I had breakfast and dinner there and they were both very tasty and excellent quality. Also reasonably priced. I would recommend the restaurant even if one is not staying there as some of the restaurants in the nearby area seemed quite pricey.
For some reason I didn't sleep well but that could've been my fault as I can't sleep with a duvet and I forgot to ask for a flat sheet. For me it seemed a bit dear for a pub B&B but I have to say it was a very nicely decorated and well presented and clean place.

Lovely, comfortable stay with friends at Long Man Inn. Breakfast and dinner was tasty, and the B & B was in a great location to visit Eastbourne, Brighton, and the South Downs Way. Easily catered to vegan and gluten free diets. Rooms were warm and the entire B & B was tastefully decorated. There are two dogs who live on the premises who are very cute! Thanks so much for making our stay as lovely as it was.
There was nothing we didn't like

Excellent location and atmosphere. Friendly staff, new facilities, great breakfast and dinner. A quiet village and a 10 minute walk to the Long Man . Great pub with some local drinks. All areas, rooms and bathrooms are very clean.
For a couple using a super king at home for many years, a standard double is a little bit of a squeeze. Hopefully with the next upgrade the beers can be upgraded to a king.

Nice location, good parking a warm welcome, decent room and bed, superb bathroom with spacious shower, good food and drinks, including breakfast. Friendly team.
The room was just a little small and lacked a wardrobe, a second mug, milk and no snacks were provided (say biscuits, as is the norm almost without exception). Attention to detail and attentiveness of younger members of waiting staff could have been much better - they missed basic things requested several times (but there was a staff party in the offing, so we guess concentration may have been elsewhere). Very limited low/zero alcohol stout/ale offering - two or more different low alcohol lagers were available and one fruit cider. Overall value could have been slightly better.

I had such a lovely stay at this gorgeous pub. I was here for a work trip and my stay was exceptional. I really loved all the finishing touches in the room- local art and coasters, gorgeous smelling reed diffuser in the bathroom, books for local walks, etc. The staff were fabulous and the food excellent too. And it was a short walk to the monument. Couldn’t fault the place!

Excellent pub with rooms. Friendly and exceptionally accommodating staff. We were visiting Glyndebourne - location was great. In addition, the Long Man provided a picnic to take with us - this was fabulous food, excellently presented. Thank you Jayne for this - it made our Opera trip extra special
Nothing - it was a perfect stay

The decoration is to a very high standard, a great sized bedroom and beautiful bathroom with toiletries. The food and service were both excellent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Stopped for one night while walking the SDW the pub is situated not far from the trail and was well worth the detour, you det to see the Long Man of Wilmington too.

We've spent a night there . Lovely, cosy and warm room. Kind and professional staff ,and nice breakfast. Free parking and they are dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this place .
The bed was way too soft and the cushions were too big for my taste. But it wasn't a problem.
