The Tiger Inn is on the village green in East Dean a delightful village set on the South Downs. Great walks straight from the door and easy to get to Eastbourne and Brighton. The village also has a couple of cafes and a Thai restaurant and on Wednesday a well supported farmers market. The Inn has a varied menu for lunch and evening meals and included in the accommodation is a very good breakfast. Again lots of variety and served in the snug bar , a well appointed space.

More than satisfied with the whole experience

From arrival to departure, the staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable, with all the extras (toiletries, multiple towels, drinks and snacks) and the breakfast was superb (continental and freshly cooked). I had dinner in the Inn and it was excellent (both the food and the service). The location is wonderful: right on the village green in a surprisingly vibrant little village, with excellent bus links to Seaford and Eastbourne, and walking distance to the coast at Birling Gap and a pleasant walk in either direction to Beachy Head or the Seven Sisters. I would definitely visit again.

Beautiful, cosy little pub with rooms in a perfect location to explore the Seven Sisters. Really pretty and cosy room with all the necessary for your stay. Good breakfast options. Super friendly and helpful staff (outstanding service during breakfast). Once all the daily tourists leave and only the locals and people staying at the inn remain is the perfect time to seat outside in the beautiful outdoor area and have a drink in the sun - magical place.

Our room had access not via the main building but from outdoor via a door with upper glass pannel. The light was coming in only from the glazed part of the door and there was no extra window, which means during the night we couldn't get any fresh air in. Probably not an issue in winter but for our next stay I will make sure to book a room in the upstair of the pub.

Wonderful, picturesque village location, perfect for a stop off on the South Downs Way, lovely characterful room ['Grace'], separate from the pub, most excellent breakfast, good evening meal too. Very warm and friendly staff. The pub got very busy at 5 - 7 though with locals and walkers popping in for a pint.

Friendly staff, straight forward check-in process. Room sits above a fantastic pub with good food and a great beer selection. Breakfast was fantastic and overall location is a great base for walking the Seven Sisters.

The rooms are in an old pub so don't have great sound proofing. We were unlucky in that the guests next door arrived back late from a wedding and made a lot of noise about 1am. The second night was fine.

The pub is set in such a beautiful area and the best of location for walking, can ditch the car and find many different walks. We stayed in grace and it was a beautiful room with everything you can need. The room is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures. Had a great nights sleep - it’s not often I can find somewhere that is as quiet as my home at night! Food in the pub was really good, massive portions and I loved that you could opt for a smaller dinner - this meant I could get through all the courses! Staff were super friendly - highly recommend. It’s been a great find and not far for us to travel to so will be making stays here a regular thing

The Tiger Inn is situated in a delightful village ideally located for walking and exploring the area. We stayed in Grace which overlooks the green. It was very peaceful, the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom met all requirements, and both were extremely clean. The breakfast was very good offering a full English and even poached eggs on a bed of spinach. Staff very friendly. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

The room (Grace ) was exceptionally clean, well furnished and a very comfortable bed. We ate a number of meals in the pub, including 10 of us for a birthday celebration and the food and service were everything we wanted. Breakfast was superb and beautifully cooked and served by friendly efficient ladies. Will certainly re visit!

Maybe a more extensive menu, but then it was good pub food for hungry Beachy Head walkers.

I loved how old the inn was the staff were friendly and welcoming I would love to take my children here in the future.

The only thing I didn't like were the taps in the bathroom being too close to the side. But this is me being really picky honestly nothing bad was lovely place to stay :)

The village of East Dean is beautiful and the pub is positioned on a pretty village green. On a very cold but bright January visit, the walking was superb. A circular walk directly from the pub over the seven sisters was wonderful in the sunshine. The evening meal in the pub was delicious and the staff were all extremely friendly. Breakfast was great; a delicious choice cooked to order and the staff were charming.

We were in the bedroom ‘Grace’ ,accessed from a door outside the pub. The room was very comfortable, but had no window. It wasn’t until the next morning that we realised there was a stable door opening. Consequently, the room was extremely hot, even on a cold January night, and it was difficult to sleep.
