all the staff were faultless. Lovely mid week stay, meant it was fairly quiet. Made full use of the lovely spa facilities. Evening meal was fabulous in Mirabelle restaurant.

Slightly dated, but kind of expected that in a hotel of this age. Still has that sparkle though and so clean. Charger cable for phone didn't work in 2 sockets and minor marks on the carpets. But to us that is so inconsequential it is hardly worth mentioning. In restaurant seated near to big bay window and my husband was in alcove of it. He did feel a bit of a draft but once curtains got pulled around it much improved. Lovely meal.

All facilities were very good. Food was excellent and the dining environment very elegant and relaxing. Service was exceptional on the first evening but a little less so the second but improved once we got attention to our waiting to be served. Breakfast offered huge and delicious choice. A perfect start to the day.

Parking was good with the concierge finding very convenient space for us as we arrived. Checking in at reception was rather impersonal and mechanical. Concierge service was very helpful. We had asked to be notified when our room was ready but nobody called and it was clear when I asked for the key that it must have been ready for a while. We had thought that booking the suite option might have prioritised room readiness. The room was very comfortable but had nowhere near enough electrical sockets for charging phones and other items and the only two were in very difficult places to reach. The shower being over the bath was not mentioned when we booked and made it very difficult for one of us with less agility to get in and out.

Absolutely fantastic hotel with old world charm in a very convenient location for the beach, pier and the art gallery and theatre. The entrance is stunning and all the rooms off were lovely and cosy. There are plenty of places to sit quietly and relax. The bedroom was spacious with everything you need and was nice and quiet. Had breakfast which was in a lovely room and couldn't fault the service or the food. Lovely cooked breakfast and well stocked buffet. Swimming pool and spa was nice and clean with lovely pool and jacuzzi. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Chris on the door was so nice and was always interested in my day, which is lovely when a solo traveller. The lady who made up my room was lovely too. All in all a lovely stay , it feels special to have stayed at The Grand Hotel.

My only niggle was that there wasn't a bar menu, which would have been nice. It would also be beneficial to the hotel as over the time I was there I spent around £100 in local restaurants that could have been income for the hotel. On the plus side it made me venture into the town and found some lovely little places to eat, followed by a lovely walk along the beach in the evening, something I may not have done if had eaten in the hotel.

I stayed on Monday for work and came back Friday with my husband. Bringing him was a bit last minute but the hotel accommodated this without any issue. The food was fantastic and the room was lovely. Concierge were helpful as always the receptionist on checkout was lovely. The hotel has a traditional feel and is welcoming.

The receptionist on check in was surly which is such a shame as ALL of the other staff are outstanding. Housekeeping woke my husband twice despite us booking a later check out time. The waitress got our breakfast order wrong but it was rectified and the waiter forgot to get the sauces after asking if we wanted any! (Minor issues and I will still go back because my stay earlier in the week was 10/10!)

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel’s charming, old-fashioned elegance, which added to the overall experience. The Mirabelle Restaurant was a highlight – an absolutely beautiful dining experience with excellent food and impeccable service. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional, and always happy to help when needed. A special mention must go to the Piano Player, who created a lovely atmosphere in the evenings – such a nice touch that made our stay even more memorable. If you're looking for a hotel with character, excellent service, and a touch of classic luxury, The Grand Hotel is the perfect choice. We would definitely return!

We did notice that housekeeping trolleys and cleaning supplies were sometimes left in the hallways for quite a while, which took away slightly from the otherwise pristine feel of the hotel. Additionally, while we expected premium cocktails, they were quite pricey and didn’t quite meet the high standards we anticipated. These were only small issues in an otherwise delightful stay, and they wouldn’t stop us from returning. The Grand Hotel remains a beautiful and elegant place to stay in Eastbourne.

We really liked the ambience of the hotel. It really is breathtaking from the outside and inside. The hotel is like going back in time and is certainly luxurious. The afternoon tea was lovely. Breakfast served both continental and traditional, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had our evening meal in the hotel too and this was also very good, and we were very well looked after.

The room we booked was a superior inland room. Which although was very clean, there was a stain on the carpet as we came into room, and the room was very small, with a huge air-conditioning unit taking up most of the room space. There was no natural light in the room as the window had a permanent blind over it. There wasn't a full-length mirror in the room.

Staff were quite wonderful; nothing was too much trouble, everyone greeted you so politely and everything was explained very well. I am gluten and lactose intolerant but was able to order oat milk, GF sausages, toast and even croissants. Staff were very attentive. The indoor and outdoor pool were lovely. The hotel is beautiful with the most wonderful interior and sweeping corridors and grand staircases and decor. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were amazing! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The fan was greatly appreciated as it was a hot weekend.

Room could have been a little larger. The taps in the bathroom dripped. Some areas were a little 'tired' but I would expect this in such a huge, historic hotel.

Lounge etc were lovely for us to relax in, We were there for the rest and change of scenery as my husband is very ill with cancer, and we had just had to cancel a 4 week holiday in Malta. The lounge staff were really wonderful, attentative and caring.

Attitude of restaurant not at all pleasant, all because we just wanted a bowl of soup and roll, not a full blown dinner. I had explained the circumstances with my husbands illness, but the manager was not the slightest bothered, and was very offhand with reluctantly agreeing that we could go in just for soup, As the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied I would have thought he would have been most obliging. It did make us both quite upset.

On arrival we were made to feel welcome and the car was parked for us. I suggest reserving parking at weekends. Reception staff were very efficient. Our room with a side sea view overlooked the front and lawn, all very clean and well cared for. The lounge area, Garden Dining Room and breakfast all first class Only a one night stay but would happily stay again.

We think the lounge bar serving staff should acknowledge you are waiting to be served even when they are already very busy. We had noticed a few couples looking a bit lost and wondering if anyone knows they are there. This is just an observation not a criticism However staff were friendly and seating very comfortable.
