Very large and surprisingly quiet room with kettle, fridge, TV and fast WiFi. The was ample milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even 2 biscuits.The bed was large, there was a sofa and plenty of storage, drawers etc. The TV had plenty of channels and worked well. The host was there to greet me upon arrival and his briefing was quick and informative. There was a communal lounge and a place to heat and eat your own food. The fluffly dog was lovely and we made friends. Breakfast was good. A large choice of cereals, juices, tea and coffee, jam, marmalade and Marmite. The female staff member that greeted me was wonderful, friendly and efficient. There is a lift and free parking on-site.

Unusually, the bath and shower formed part of the bedroom which as I was alone, was fine and somewhat novel but I'm sure that some couples would prefer privacy in which case, select a different room (this was room 15). The duvet was the same width as the bed which for me was ok because I was alone but if a couple were there together, they might be battling for the covers. I was sad to not see my doggy friend to say goodbye when I departed!

We liked shared facilities downstairs. The dining room, sitting room and bar area were exceptional. Amazing homely place and very original murals. Steve, the owner, was very chatty, interesting and pleasant guy. We liked the breakfast, tasty and plenty to chose from. Our room was very quiet, no street noise. Very central location and near the sea front.

The room was a bit bland but to be fair we knew it will be like that. We didn't want to spend too much money on the better and more exciting room so in the end it was ok. We appreciate that the owners are working on updating the rooms as and when possible.

Excellent hosts, ethos and environment. We liked the non-corporate approach and felt very welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and in particular the quality of coffee. The parking facility was an added bonus, everything in general was easy and effortless. A great location!

It would be harsh to criticise too much on the basis that there is so much to like about the property. The water pressure in the shower was poor and difficult to regulate but was manageable. Our room was spacious and clean although a little tired in places however, we understand that work is in progress to address this.

The property has a range of 'rooms where guests can sit, meet others, share time together. Such a good idea! The rooms are quirky in their decoration and I liked the fact that they are different to lounges or bars in bigger hotels. The owner, Steve, greets each newcomer and shows them around so it feels like being welcomed into someone's home. My own room was more than adequate for a solo traveler. The TV was beyond my capabilities but Steve sorted it out and even made the radiator function. I think the family has only been there a short time but they are putting the work in! Breakfast was an added, welcome bonus!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sheldon and honestly can't believe the value I got for the money I paid. Their communication was excellent, responding positively to all of my needs. At check in, I was greeted outside (I was travelling by bike) and immediately shown where I could store my bike overnight. The decor inside is really quite special (and further proof that a wife is always right and a husband should already agree 🤣) and it almost feels like a boutique hotel in some ways. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms were also to a high standard. I hope I get to return some day

Great welcome from staff member who showed us around and explained the facilities - sitting room with big comfy sofa & chairs, microwave to heat food if you wanted to bring your own in and use the dining room. Shower unit small but had a good head of water which was important. Clean room with comfy bed, good heating controls & ability to open a window wide enough to ventilate. Loved the decoration & meeting a couple of the artists. Having a parking space - this was important to us as we'd travelled a long distance. Good wifi. We were made to feel really welcome chatting with the owner & staff. A great ethos for a B & B.

Not complaining as it is almost a universal problem even with new builds, but bathroom ventilation units very noisy.

Nice family-owned hotel that is centrally located in the center of Eastbourne. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The owner is friendly and provided us with a lot of information of the area. The breakfast was very good and the common rooms of the hotel are beautifully decorated. The hotel has many parking spaces, but the entry to them is very tight. If your car is very tall or wide, you might need to park somewhere else.

We visited in the off-season and ended up with another room than the rooms we booked. Something went wrong with the availability and the room we booked was closed for maintenance. The room we got was smaller and more cramped, but the owner also reduced the price. It was too late for us to find something else. The rest of the hotel made up for the mistake.

Lovely comfortable bed. Nice soft and absorbent towels Brilliant facilities in the restaurant available to guests at all times and told upon our welcome we could bring in our own food (eg fish and chips) to eat there using the plates, cutlery, microwave etc. Large guest lounge with drinks and snacks available to buy. Very good value for money

The pillows were too firm for me. Had we been staying another night I would have asked for a softer one The shower in our room had very low pressure. Started out OK but suddenly went low which was frustrating as it took me ages to get the soap off my body! (not dangerous, water temp did not change)

Lovely B&B situated only couple minutes walk from the beach and within walking distance of the town and train station. It’s nice and quiet on a quiet road. Free private parking is a bonus. Friendly staff and very nice breakfasts. Giving guests the option to use the breakfast room for bringing in their own food (lunch & dinner) and providing cutlery, crockery, microwave and fridge in that room is a great touch. Comfortable bed.

Water pressure to the shower was on the low side (1st floor) and I personally would prefer a removable shower head. At one point the bathroom window stuck fast and couldn’t be opened. I understand other guests also had problems with stuck windows and it was soon sorted.

Just before I tell you about this amazing place - I didn't request a quiet room as this survey suggests! As it turns out I wouldn't have needed to anyway! So where do I start 🤔 Welcomed on arrival by the owner - lovely man - showed us round the building and explained everything we needed to know! I can't remember his name coz my other half was with him when I parked the car in the free parking area at the rear of the building 👍 Canadian chap - very lovely 🙂 Exceptional room! We were upgraded which was very kind of them 🙂 very comfy bed and the best bed linen ever! There is also a lift which takes you to the 2nd floor. Cannot express how much love and dedication has been put into this property - it's just beautiful - the decor and furnishings are exquisite. There was an artist still painting the ceiling of the breakfast room while we were there - her work is amazing! Breakfast was great too - everything from yogurt and granola to full English!! I can definitely recommend this B&B 100% - come on people they have an honesty bar too 😀 we had an amazing experience there and would return in a heart beat 😍
