Our second stay here, staff are welcoming and helpful, our bed was very comfy. lovely cocktails!

Breakfast menu is good and food is tasty (although we prefer to book a rate with breakfast included, which they don't offer) The only slight issue was we would have liked to have been given choice of bread for the toast. Our breakfast came with a couple of slices of seeded brown which was pretty dry and wasn't enough, so I asked for a couple more slices but requested white bread, the waitress said she could do sourdough which is our favourite and would have chosen in the first place if we had been asked!

We cannot praise the staff and the owner enough, they made our stay extremely welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Rooms were very very comfortable, clean and stylish with everything there you need for your stay including a lovely coffee machine. Even though you’re above a pub, it was very quiet and in such a great location to the coast, only a 5 minute walk. Food was excellent, we had an evening meal, breakfast and lunch the following day. Just couldn’t fault it. The pictures on the website don’t do it justice, such stylish comfortable surroundings. This will be our go to accommodation when we visit Eastbourne again. The staff were very friendly, genuine and helpful. They really did made us feel like special guests. The Pilot is well run and has a great atmosphere and offers a fantastic selection of food and drink. It is located in the Meads Village area of Eastbourne only a 5 minute walk from the promenade. There are also another nice pub and two restaurants close by. The room we had was modern and the facilities were top quality. The full English breakfast was the best we have had in a long time.

There was nothing we didn't like!

The location was perfect for us because it was just across the street of my son`s summer school. We did not get breakfast but we had lunch or dinner time to time and I can say that meals were too delicious !! The staff were all so nice and always helpful. We really enjoyed a lot and felt safe during our stay as a mother & 10 years old son. Thank you Pilot Inn !!! Hope to see you again :)

Everything was so good... nothing to complain indeed

Restaurant / pub was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Location - quiet neighbourhood but close enough to everything.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Only suggestion we have is maybe advise people upon booking that reservations may be required if planning to eat there. After flying from Canada and arriving at the hotel, we just wanted to eat, have a drink, and get some sleep. Restaurant / pub was full and advised reservations were a good plan. Luckily we’re able to sit outside (a little chilly but we didn’t care). Not a big deal but just an idea to let people know. We did reserve for the next night and had a nice dinner inside.

The choice of food, beer and spirits was excellent in the bar. The food was good quality and well cooked, not excessively priced for the quantity and standard. The staff were all friendly, helpful and were pleased to help. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, well decorated and clean. There was a small fridge in the room, tea and coffee making, the TV worked and considering we were a above a pub the noise wasn't intrusive at all. Breakfast was very good.

The shower was a bit weak, but it did work fine.

It's inside an Inn - upstairs of a busy pub. They have very good soundproof door so even the pub was packed and happening I couldn't hear a thing in the room. The room was much bigger than I expected, with a spacious bathroom + shower. Bed is pretty comfortable and there's a tv so everything you need for a short stay.

The shower started to get a bit cold after a while, not sure if they have a small boiler or there were other people using hot water.

I cannot recommend The Pilot Inn enough, I traveled solo with my 5 year old daughter so was nervous at the thought of staying above the pub, the wonderful staff squashed those worries straight away. They went above and beyond for my daughter, even went out and bought her cereal for the morning! Felt very safe, no noise at all during the night, dinner was perfect… there was even oat milk in the room which I’ve never seen before. 100% would recommend, the restaurant had so much character, we had a great game of eye spy in there with all of the ornaments!

Fourth time I've stayed here in the past year, in fact now if I need to be in Eastbourne I will not stay anywhere other than here: since my first visit in July 2023, I've planned all my subsequent trips around when the Pilot Inn had accommodation available. Location is brilliant, food is great, staff are polite, rooms are nice.

It's really hard to put anything in this "What didn't you like?" box when there was basically nothing I disliked. Oh, must admit I've got in the habit of bringing my own loo roll, because what's provided is like sandpaper: this would literally be my only complaint, and I've had the same issue elsewhere, so maybe it's just me? My companion last year didn't have a problem, and she is really fussy!

Our room was excellent and spotlessly clean. We loved the bathroom and in particular, the walk-in shower. The bed was large and really comfy and the room really quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. The food at lunchtime and at our evening meal was superb.

The breakfast was based on a tick-box that is handed in the day before. Although I enjoyed my full English breakfast, I would have liked a little more choice. ie a choice of fruit juices (not just orange). Also, cereals could be on offer along with fresh fruit and croissants?
