This hotel was a real find and we had a great stay here. The room and the whole hotel were in a really clean and obviously cared for material state. We had the quadrupole room and it's size was perfect for our group, beds were extremely comfortable and the room well equipped. The location is great and you've got ample choice of pubs and food outlets nearby, although breakfast isn't available at the hotel the nearby Spoons (2 minute walk) is perfect. Special mention must go to the owner (Danny) who went over and above to help out, great communication and service. He clearly cares about his hotel and his guests, thank you. To sum up, a really well run and comfortable hotel in a great location. We would have cheerfully paid more for our stay and this place is highly recommended if you're looking for somewhere in the Barnsley area

The room was very clean and well equipped. It was suitable for our needs for our stay. We arrived while the bar was still open and a member of bar staff was very helpful and helped us to obtain our room key from the key box.

There wasn't really anything that we didn't like. We were messaged by the hotel to explain the situation with reference to Staff onsite and the location of the hotel so we were well prepared.

I stay here regularly and know the housekeeper quite well now. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is wonderful and friendly. Don't be rude to her, she works very hard! This is a budget hotel, literally a place to rest your head for a cheap price, so dont expect anything other than your room. However, I have stayed in the majority of the rooms at one time or another, and they are always extremely clean, comfortable and very well turned out. Toiletries and complimentary coffees etc in each room. WiFi is fairly decent too. If you are staying for a while, there is a large lounge room with microwave, toaster, and fridge space available for each room. Local takeaways will deliver to the hotel via apps, and there are also plenty of cafes, shops, bars and takeaways on the doorstep. Its on the high street so regular buses to all the local towns, a carpark is also available for guests at the rear of the building and the train station is a two minute taxi ride or a ten minute walk away. The local "town" bus also goes from around the corner to outside the station too, quite regularly.

There isn't much not to like about this hotel if you are looking for a budget place to use as a simple base when travelling. It ticks the boxes. There are no staff aside from the housekeeper, who comes in each day although if you have issues there is a prompt email service to let them know if you have a problem. The hotel is set in an older building over a bar on three (?) floors. There is no lift, so this would probably not be suitable for disabled guests.

The bath was fab, good size, water was hot, bed was comfy. All clean. Car park was private and had cctv and fencing. No staff on hand but the gentleman who helped with my booking was very helpful. Good communication.

It was a bit noisy due to pub across the road and when people were leaving though obviously this isn't the hotels fault but could do with better window system to reduce noise. The entrance and key system was a bit difficult at first but partly my fault as I hadn't seen my email just the text, once had figured it out was quite straight forward.

Our room was small but newly refurbished and spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfy and the heating was spot on. We could barely hear any traffic or noise from the street. Perfect for a 1 night stay. Checking in was simple with the unmanned system. It was in a great location with bars a 2 minute walk away. Parking was a short walk away and free of charge. This was a last minute booking for us and we were really pleased with everything.

The bedroom and bathroom were great sizes. Immaculate throughout. Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Loved the ease of getting the door codes, key pick up - emails clear and concise. Initially no hairdryer in the room but when I saw the cleaner she was only to happy to get me one. The Squires pub below was the perfect spot for a nightcap.

Nothing not to like. Although we were on the front and there was music coming from the pub opposite it didn't stop us sleeping, if a light sleeper request a room at the back.

We were visiting a family member for a couple of nights, so the location was convenient for our needs. The room was large and very clean as was the bathroom. There was tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The entry system was a key safe facility which was fast and efficient. A convenient car park was at the back of the hotel. All in all it filled our requirements very well and we were happy.

I was in Room 13. Really a nice space. This sounds nuts, but Wombwell looked a bit spectacular out of the window. Nice angled ceiling, kinda cool. Bed was comfiest I've stayed in for ages. 3 flights of stairs, mind you, but not an issue. Affiliated (?) Squires Bar downstairs... Insanely good Tapas. Sound-proofing. Strange one, this. No external noise at all. Unusual and welcome for a Hotel near any nightlife, slept right through. Lighting. Not the most modern, but you'd be amazed how complicated/ wrong some hotels get it. Here it was fine. Enough options without being dazzled or tripping over stuff. Related subject...perhaps one wall socket closer to the bed would be handier... A bit of a stretch. Price. Very very reasonable.

Checking in. Not difficult, but a 'faff'. Links, emails, texts... A bit clunky. Bathroom. Not dirty, but needs IMO ripping out and restarting. Chuck the bath, a nice fully tiled space with a decent showerhead would be better. Old bath screens and the world's craziest radiator not for me. Internal sound proofing. More of please. I thought I'd brought somebody back with me... Was sure someone was using my toilet. Nope, it was an adjoining room. Car park. Not secure. I'm sure the people of Wombwell are all great, but you have a gated/fenced car park, and it's open all the time? If going to the trouble of codes and access to get in hotel, definitely do the same for the car park.

A very nice basic hotel. Exceptionally clean, I think the room has recently been renovated so everything looked new. A great place to stay.

I received the door code and another email requesting me to register. I did not register. On arrival at the hotel the door code did not work, so I then registered while stood outside, and the door code worked. I think the hotel should give a stronger message that registration is mandatory otherwise the door opening code will not work.

The room is spacious, easy to access, meet our basic needs.

It's a bit cold and the thermostat on the wall is locked and cannot be adjusted (or only me that did not find the way to adjust)
