Very friendly staff, everyone. It was clean. Room facilities were generally good and clean. TV sound was distorted and not too clear. See below for more comments.

Food value was very poor. The celebration meal on Friday night was good but was very poor value. It did not live up to the billing. Breakfast was even poorer value. £14.95 for a cup of tea, one very small pastry and no muesli on offer. Very, very poor value. That offer needs a rapid review. The bed was all worn through on one side and sagged, not very comfortable.

The room was quiet, very comfortable and well equipped. Very pleasant view from the window and no noise from other guests. The room was very neatly laid out with plenty of tea/ coffee and milk available each day. The room and bathroom was very clean. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant staff were very attentive without rushing you to finish your food. They were quick to serve you and check things were OK. The garden room is lovely and the food excellent.

The mattress was a bit out of shape on one side so I just moved to the other side of the bed. Not a big problem for me.

Really enjoyed our stay, the staff were helpful rooms small but clean and had everything we needed. Pool area was better than expected, and the bar was relaxing, couldn't fault the breakfast. We had a great time except for one problem . What we didn't like.

Unfortunately three times in the night and early hours (3 am)we were woken up by alarms going off no expectations, didn't know if we should stay in room and ignore or run for our lives, I don't sleep well at best of times ,so I did find this annoying, but I'm sure it doesn't happen often so I would return, cos the good things outwayed the bad.

location was important to us as halfway stop between Devon and North Wales. The room on ground floor just beyond reception was large,comfy, and clean . Car parking is very convenient. Very good buffet breakfast.

when we stayed in 2023 there was a chef from India cooking the most marvellous food and the restaurant service was great - in fact the food was so good we extended our stay for another night. This year unfortunately there was just the usual type of boring ‘gastro pub’ menu at inflated prices and some serving staff who seemed very careless - water poured over table,thick tomato flavoured jus spilt over husband’s light trousers, coffee slopped into saucer. The restaurant area is lovely and perhaps staff were new so that this was ‘just a bad day at the office’.

First room, bed was broken. I was told that the beds are in the process of being replaced but seriously 209 needs doing now. A good bed can make up for many shortcomings. Bedside lamps would be good rather than one very bright light over the top of the bed and all sockets were in the opposite wall. This is nitpicking though.

Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Easy to get to. Parking on site. Has beautiful golf course along side it. Staff were lovely and .very helpful Bar and restaurant areas very pleasent, clean and tidy. Nice outside patio next to the bar. Room very comfortable and bed large and comfy too. Ensuite bathroom clean and had all you needed. Shower very powerful and scalding hot water. Lovely breakfast. Plenty of choice.

Disappointed with food choice for evening meal. It was a Sunday and we were told Seasonal Special menu not available Sunday evening. This was not mentioned anywhere. Food was tasty but very over priced for what was essentially 'Pub Grub'

Your accommodation is in a character building; I got lost every time I left my room. But the room was very comfortable and everything worked well. I was slightly surprised to have a shower/bath, but other rooms might be differently equipped. My room was spacious with a nice tea/coffee facility. Silence is Golden, and it was so in my room with a quiet comfortable sleep had. The Facilities are extensive, but I didn't get to use them so I missed out. But take your gym wear/swimming costumes and book a spa treatment if you've time. Or simply sit on the terrace or in the extensive gardens and relax with snacks and drinks at any time of the day. I arrived mid afternoon and ordered a sandwich in the garden and this was imaginatively presented and delivered in a friendly way. I went on to have an evening meal in the restaurant and a fantastic breakfast. I recommend choosing to have breakfast, which includes extensive hot and cold buffet. But push the boat out and get the special orders; the Eggs Royale was the best I've ever had with very tasty smoked salmon drenched with the hot yellow yolk of a perfectly poached egg. The staff are attentive, and you've a provision here which is of a very high standard. It may be priced a little higher than your usual 'Brand Hotel', but the value is in the offering here that is quality and also personal

No plug sockets near the bed. Many of us have electric alarms or other devices. Yes, there were ample sockets elsewhere in the room, just not convenient to my bed. This isn't a deal breaker, just inconvenient.

The location was good and away from everything. A little further out than I’d expected. The rooms are a bit small, but cosy. Access to upper floor rooms is via a lift. The property is wheelchair/baby buggy friendly (which is good as I tend to not see so often) Last but probably most important. The post code takes you way way past the property, so that needs to be looked into. We ended up using the name of the property in the sat nav to find it! That’s why I’d didn’t give it 5*

The decor seemed a little dated, you need a car if you don’t want to eat at the property. They don’t take cash after a certain time at the bar. Not good!!

Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff - all of them bar one (see below) greeted us with a smile and engaged us in conversation. Beautiful views from the restaurant and bar and the rooms on one side of the hotel. Rooms were well equipped with everything you could need.

The music in the bar and restaurant was intrusive and not to everyone's taste. All the members of staff were polite, helpful and friendly but we did witness one member of staff, named Steve, tell one of the other staff members to go home and come back for the evening shift. He didn't ask him at all politely or give him any chance to reply. We thought it was a very unprofessional and disrespectful way to speak to someone, especially in front of guests.

The room, and the way you had milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Also when asking reception about extra coffee pods they were so helpful and prompt, also asking reception of places to eat other than the hotel again very helpful. Accommodating my social anxiety in the restaurant made my stay more pleasant. The swimming pool was very clean and toasty warm. The receptionist in the spa on both days, very helpful. The jacuzzi both days it was so quiet, I had it to myself and this made it more special.

Our room was an Executive suite, located on the ground floor. It seemed to suffer heavy traffic by other residents. when we booked this higher rated room, we kind of assumed that it would have been a little quieter. During our stay, both of us suffered from cramping stomach pains and also overheard other residents with the same complaints.
