The Merrill Field Inn exceeded my expectations. The shuttle service is exceptional. Antony picked me up at the airport at midnight. The next day he took me downtown for tours in the morning and in the afternoon - and picked me up when the tours were over. The following day he took me to the train station at 7 am - all for free. Amazing service! My room was better than I expected. It was warm and homey with great lighting, a bath, frig, microwave and instant hot water. There was a good sized window with a view of 2 trees, an empty parking lot, and Highway 1 which was noisy. My room was on the ground floor. I liked the pots of flowers outside – added to my feeling of safety. I didn't know that the Merrill Field Inn provides a hot breakfast in the summer - so I didn't get it the first morning but I did the second morning. Overall I highly recomment the Merrill Field Inn. You get an awful lot for your money.

The receptionists could be a bit more efficient - got mixed up about picking me up from the airport, didn't tell me about breakfast etc but they did their best and were nice friendly people.

Clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The 24 hour shuttle was a life saver. It picked us up from the Eagan Center, took us back to town for dinner on Friday. On Saturday we were able to leave our luggage at the Inn. The shuttle took us downtown where we spent the day. We called when we were ready to go to the airport, he brought our luggage and picked us up. Driver was very helpful.

Not in the best part of town, not walkable to anything. The building was old, but they had made some improvements. It still needs a lot of love. We were on first floor and could hear people above us walking.

The staff was wonderful! They helped load my three 50 pound suitcases and 100 lb German Shepherd and his extra large kennel into their hotel shuttle at the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, they put all my luggage in my spacious room while I walked my dog. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of hot and cold choices. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It's not fancy but excellent for the price. Again, clean is important to me. New fixtures are not. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The sheets were soft and clean, and they didn't have a nasty bleach/chemical smell. It was a nice place to stay after a long flight. My husband is staying there again this month. We will definitely be staying here every time we need a hotel room in Anchorage.

I found everything met my expectations.

Ok so let’s be honest the Merrill Inn has seen better days and is rather tired’ but that being said and set your exceptions accordingly what you will find is a group of friendly helpful staff and a warm welcome. The rooms are clean and equipped with all you need. The greatest bonus is the shuttle service with a wonderful guy called Anthony who will take you anywhere in the city, pick you up and drop off at the airport anytime within reason. All you need to do is call the hotel. Where else would you get such service. Forget the fact the infrastructure has its issues and go and enjoy Anchorage

Nothing that getting your priorities straight can’t fix

The Inn is great value for money. The free shuttle with its driver, Antony, really sets this hotel apart from the crowd. Antony picked me up at the airport, took me to my tours, and dropped me off at the railway station - exceptional service! The room was large, clean, and comfortable. I even liked the homely decor. I also liked the pots of flowers around the outside All the staff were friendly and tried their best to be helpful. The hot breakfast was a delightful surprise (only in summer). It was especially good because there weren't any cafes around

Some staff were a bit disorganized at times causing me some inconvenience - but they were very busy and trying their best. I am glad I chose the Merrill Inn and would happily stay there again.

The airport shuttle to the motel, even very late at night, was easy to schedule, connect with and quicker than most. The room on the second floor was pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave. The window opened to allow fresh air in and the blinds did a great job of keeping out the light. There was a breakfast buffet that included, eggs, hash browns, sausage and the usual muffins, cereal and toast. The breakfast was better than expected.

Not much seating in the breakfast area. No elevators so you have to haul your luggage up the stairs. It was a ways away from anything, but the shuttle was willing to drop you off where you wanted to go.

The Proprietor and his wife were very friendly and accomodating!! They picked us up promptly at the airport and we checked in around 10:45pm with no issues. The BREAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC & INCLUDED!!! The lobby area was adorable and very down home cozy! We met other travelers in the lobby and shared our various stories! We would definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Anchorage!

I admit we were a little put off by the area, as we had heard from locals on our flight that it was not a desirable location, BUT IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FINE!! The room was clean, the shower was great and the bed VERY comfortable!

The free airport shuttle was very convenient. I was also offered use of the shuttle to travel into the city in the evening. The motel looks plain from the outside but inside the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. The included breakfast was quite good for a budget motel with some hot food options available. The adjacent Chinese restaurant offered a good evening meal (it has some Western options on the menu).

The surrounding area was mostly commercial and not particularly attractive. There were few alternative places to eat within walking distance.

The breakfast was adequate and the shuttle worked for us once out of two requests. The bed was good and the room facilities were also adequate. We booked a rental car from the hotel at a great rate and the vehicle was very good.

This property is desperately in need of a make over. The staff do a great job with it but the facility itself is very tired,

It's not a modern hotel, but it was more than adequate for our two night stopover. I loved that they provided a shuttle service for free, we were picked up from the airport, the next day taken to downtown and picked up again, finally we were transferred to our next hotel. Breakfast was also included, I hadn't expected that. There is a great value restaurant next door.

It isn't walking distance to downtown, but I knew that from the maps, but it didn't matter because they provided a shuttle service for free. I was more than happy with the facility, but some might find it a bit old. It's a motor inn, not a fancy hotel after all.
