Great location. Room was a nice size and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. No need for a car, because you can walk all over downtown from this hotel. Front desk was extremely busy, but all staff was friendly. We were an hour early for check in, and they were unable to let us check in, but we went across the street to the Alaska Escape Room, spent a fun hour there, and then checked in without a problem. We asked for a late check out, but they had a cruise coming in and were only able to give us 30 minutes. They did keep our luggage for us for another few hours, so it was great. Room 1003 had a perfect view of Denali, since it was such a clear day.

If you spend more than a few days, you may want a refrigerator and microwave, and the rooms don't have that.

The location of this hotel was great - right smack dab in the middle of downtown. This hotel could definitely use some updating and renovation but it didn't take away from our stay. The A/C of our room worked great, the 2 queen beds were comfy as can be, and we all loved the fluffy pillows. It had a refrigerator and TV and hairdryer, and plenty of towels - all things we needed on our stay. The front staff was so kind and accommodating. I wouldn't mind staying here again for sure.

I hope they do invest in some updates/renovations in the future. But it was still a great stay.

The Westmark is very well located in downtown Anchorage, and most of the downtown area is easily walkable from the property. Service was excellent, Jannelle at the front desk was able to get us checked in early after our flight arrived super early and was a comforting presence throughout our stay. I wish every hotel I stayed at had someone like Jannelle at the front desk -- but everyone on the staff we encountered was helpful. Also, value for money is extremely good. Parking was convenient.

The property could stand to be refreshed. The wifi was extremely spotty -- which I knew going in -- but I didn't pay anything for it either.

The hotel is in the middle of the center, great for shoppimg, eating and sightseeing. The supervisor of the reception was great and so helpful with printing the test result and replacing the broken hairdryer. It is also only a short walk to the trainstation. The shampoo, conditioner and bodywash was very nice.

The new receptionist was just horrible. Very unfriendly when we arrived, no hello, just told us to enter the pin without even tellingvus the amount (which then turned out to be wrong). Have never felt so unwelcomed to a hotel as she made us feel. If not the supervisor have turned up, we would have rated it lower. She should definitly be replaced. The room was quite noisy because of the toilet flush and the cars driving by, but was okay for us.

Our accommodations were good, and the location was excellent. The desk staff were very accommodating. We left the next day for a hotel next to the airport as we were going to have an early flight. We got a taxi,and we’re ready to leave the Westmark Hotel ,and told the driver where we were going, and he said that hotel had burned to the ground the night before. We then went back in to get another night at the Westmark and The desk staff Valorie was extremely helpful, and asked the manager if we could get a room, and he said absolutely no. I thought that was a little strange because the usual policy is to hold at least one room back for emergencies. We then tried 7 other hotels, and they were all full. Our only option was to sleep on a park bench with the Native Americans who were homeless, and either drunk, or drugged up. My wife is 71, and I’m 77. Needless to say my wife was freaking out. If I were by myself I would have been fine being a 2 tour veteran of 🇻🇳 Vietnam I can still hold my own. After several hours walking up, and down the streets with our luggage we found a Bed & Breakfast that had 1 room left. If we hadn’t found a room we were ready to call the police, and see if they had any ideas. Bottom line it was a scary , and stressful situation especially for my wife. Hopefully you will make some positive policy changes so no guests have to endure what my wife, and I went through. Sincerely, Richard W Cartmill.

We LOVED our room! We were on a higher floor that looked out to the Harbor. It was overcast and rainy so a little cooler. Balcony door open to let the breeze in and watch the boats come in and airplanes landing on the bluff. There was a church across the street that had a clock that chimed on the quarter hours and I loved that. Great restaurants to walk to as well! My only negative is that I was traveling with a foot injury so I couldn't do as much walking as I wanted to and walk around the town to see the shops and sights.

-We were able to check in around 1pm. I was very grateful so we had a good rest between our two weeks traveling in campervan and the cruising to Vancouver on the next day. -Location is very handy. -Room is larger than I expected

The traffic noise was all day and night.

location is perfect, staff very cheerful and helpful. comfortable beds. coffee maker in room. nice balcony. good size. good services

property shows it’s age and is ready for some renovations/updates. old furniture and carpet but the mattresses seem newer. some minor maintenance things like rust, caulk, and leaking shower shampoo dispenser (massive amounts of shampoo into the tub).

Breakfast was good, front desk staff were amazing, especially Eddy the security guard Rooms were very large and bed was comfortable

Pretty big room, with decent space to work, and watch TV, super comfortable for two people. The bed was nice and pretty big and the balcony would have been great if not for the rainy weather! Overall a nice place
