The front desk personnel were always very polite and friendly. They were always very easy to approach and was very helpful when I had questions about the surrounding area and places to get a bite to eat. Although we were there for 3 nights, we never used the household room staff. Whenever we ran into them, they were very friendly and always asked if we needed anything.

The room was very outdated and had problems with opening the door to the balcony. The curtains were old and worn. The carpet in the room seemed thick and worn down. There was a slightly musty odor in the room.

Great location. Fanastic deal--a Booking.com Junior Suite promo for 30% of the price of staying at the Captain Cook or the Hilton! The room was clean, comfortable and spacious but doesn't have a microwave or minifridge. We didn't even try the minimalist breakfast because of the poor reviews. The Pantry at the Captain Cook, less that 3 blocks away, has a great choice of breakfasts, not cheap but well worth the price, we thought. The Westmark is gave us the best bang for the buck, by far. Reserving the Junior Suite on booking.com was notably cheaper than booking on the hotel's website.

The reception staff & house keeping staff were courteous.

Sunday,06/07 was aweful.There was nothing left when we went there.They said Sunday, breakfast was very minimal, not the same menu as other days.They also closed early because of Sunday, but there is no notice to say Sunday, they close early.The notice showed as the same time for everyday. We practically did not have breakfast on Sunday,06/07.

Location was amazing

Could be a bit noisy in rooms when people next to you are loud and needs a bit of updating in bathrooms. Could use a second and or third toaster at breakfast so it’s not so backed up and could be set up opposite direction to alleviate congestion and allow people that just want coffee to grab it without trying to get around everyone that’s is waiting on toaster

Very comfortable large room. 2 luggage stands and two chairs

We arrived at 1am and were anxious to get to our room. Check was extremely slow, despite the fact that we had a non refundable reservation, as if we were not expected. The paperwork could have been prepared and keys ready. The staff was impersonal for a reception. An unfortunate first impression.

As a diabetic I would have preferred a diabetic inclusive breakfast menu such as high fibre cereal, whole grain bread for toast and coffee with refills.

Apart from breakfast the rest of the hotel stay was excellent. The hotel is a little old style, but it was quiet, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was by far the best value option in the city. Centrally located, clean and comfortable. The room was way larger than what get in newer hotels.

It is quite dated - true. Sound insulation could be better as well - the street and the family above us were both quite loud but we ended up sleeping very well in the end.

Great location. Room was a nice size and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. No need for a car, because you can walk all over downtown from this hotel. Front desk was extremely busy, but all staff was friendly. We were an hour early for check in, and they were unable to let us check in, but we went across the street to the Alaska Escape Room, spent a fun hour there, and then checked in without a problem. We asked for a late check out, but they had a cruise coming in and were only able to give us 30 minutes. They did keep our luggage for us for another few hours, so it was great. Room 1003 had a perfect view of Denali, since it was such a clear day.

If you spend more than a few days, you may want a refrigerator and microwave, and the rooms don't have that.

The location of this hotel was great - right smack dab in the middle of downtown. This hotel could definitely use some updating and renovation but it didn't take away from our stay. The A/C of our room worked great, the 2 queen beds were comfy as can be, and we all loved the fluffy pillows. It had a refrigerator and TV and hairdryer, and plenty of towels - all things we needed on our stay. The front staff was so kind and accommodating. I wouldn't mind staying here again for sure.

I hope they do invest in some updates/renovations in the future. But it was still a great stay.

The Westmark is very well located in downtown Anchorage, and most of the downtown area is easily walkable from the property. Service was excellent, Jannelle at the front desk was able to get us checked in early after our flight arrived super early and was a comforting presence throughout our stay. I wish every hotel I stayed at had someone like Jannelle at the front desk -- but everyone on the staff we encountered was helpful. Also, value for money is extremely good. Parking was convenient.

The property could stand to be refreshed. The wifi was extremely spotty -- which I knew going in -- but I didn't pay anything for it either.
