Great location, easy virtual checkin process, convenient fitness room

Room wasn't cleaned two days and someone came as late as 4:30 PM another day, bathroom door did not fully shut (bare sanded edge left unpainted from a previous repair), online checkout process offered time slots but apparently doesn't appear to hotel staff who checked me out immediately upon receiving the response - which resulted in my being locked out of the room prematurely. Hot tub had a very strong chemical odor but still appeared unclean with brown and white foam on the surface of the water.

Great location, staff were all very helpful and super friendly. I do not think I've ever stayed at a hotel where the staff always greeted me and asked how my days was, etc. Even when there was a booking issue when I was checking-in, they made the effort to look into it and guaranteed the same rate that was booked originally. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view of the pool and mountains.

I found the walls in the room a bit thin (so I was able to hear conversations and/or TV/music next door). If they are able to make some sound proofing that would be great. I also thought that it was a bit odd there was not a phone in the room and you had to call/text/email the hotel on your own phone. I did not see the contact information in the room (but there was signage in the hallways), so I think having a sign in the room with that information would be a good idea.

My family enjoyed just about everything about The Dunes. The pool, jacuzzi and peaceful poolside area with the mountainous backdrop was a really welcome piece of our trip. Our room was clean and satisfactory, the location was right in line with what we sought and the staff was very nice and accommodating.

Not too many demerits, but we needed more and/or stronger lighting in our room. Also, the outdoor hallways are tight when the maid staff is working and their carts are out. Not much that can be done about that with the older structure of the remodeled hotel.

What a find! We might make this our go-to in Palm Springs. The rooms were comfortable, location convenient and a very fair price. Even the bath amenities were actually quite nice. The conditioner especially. Also generous with the towels (hate when they literally have like 2 hanging). The front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel does not offer breakfast. But they do have coffee and juice you can grab in the lobby. And there is a delicious diner that you can literally see from the hotel you can walk to. And of course, downtown is right there as well. Overall very happy with the stay.

It was in a great location,allowing us to walk the downtown area of Palm Springs, close enough yet far enough to not be right in the hustle. Walking distance to a few hiking trails. There is a grocery store across the street as well as a couple of great restaurants. Bus stops close by if you wanted to venture beyond dt. It was clean with comfy beds and good sized room. The staff are friendly, and interactive.

The pool area could use some more greenery however they had told us it was in the process as there had been upgrades done. Hot tub needs a little more upkeep The lighting in the bathroom area could be better as it was a little dark while getting ready.

Property and room was very clean and as expected from photos. The hot tub was awesome to end the day. Location was very convenient to everything and felt safe.

The door to our room was getting stuck and very loud. We did eventually realize that to quietly shut it, we had to lift it up as we closed it. The rooms also can get a bit noisy with the neighbors. we had someone above us walking in heels constantly at all hours, and there is no carpet in the rooms so it was quite loud. we also had one neighbor next to us leave their TV playing super loud music and it vibrated the wall / bed. I wish the rooms were a bit more sound proof.

Swimming pool and facilities were awesome. Had just come from the Hilton at Resorts World and the pool at The Dunes was way more comfortable (yes RWLV had seven pools, but no shelter). For example it was hot but even hotter in Las Vegas, the Dunes offered sun umbrellas to seek shelter it needed, they offer misters with cooling misty water, they offered things to lay on in the pool and there were outside games should you want to play. The Dunes pool experience is just nicer (not posh, just nice)

Everything was pretty good. If I was to grip a wee bit, there was a slight mustiness and I think there was some black mould on one wall (but I may be wrong). I did need to used my inhaler a few times during my stay which I generally don’t used on a regular basis unless something has triggered me.

The property was in a great location close to downtown Palm Springs so it was very easy to get to places. The staff were so welcoming & friendly and our room was fabulous! So spacious and it had everything we needed (including full length mirrors which is always a bonus in hotel rooms). The pool was a nice size (and nice temperature) with ample sunbeds. There’s complimentary coffee & fruit in the lobby each morning for breakfast. There’s also free parking if you come with a vehicle. It felt secure all around and you needed an access code to get to the pool as well so felt very safe.

The only negative was that the elevator wasn’t working the day that we left but we were notified about this and it cannot be helped really. Otherwise all great!

Liked having the juices available in the morning along with the coffee bar but a tea drinker myself. The room was very nice, liked having the fridge & hot water pot being a tea drinker. Happy to see lots of plugs for charging my devices. Enjoyed having Spectrum on the TV, gave a lot of options but no sleep timer. Overall I would stay again. Have bikes for getting around locally which is very cool. Didn’t take advantage of them during my stay.

Little trouble with parking on the weekend. Maybe work out a deal with the people/company that has the no parking will toe the car signs to allow parking in their spaces by issuing placards or paper signs for the dashboard so they know they are hotel guests & won’t tow. Also would have liked a safe in the room. Although no restaurant or bar there is a Grocery Outlet across the street & a couple restaurants next door. Maybe work out a 10% discount with them if your quests go there.

Watch those stairs rough concrete ...they will eat you heals $45.00 plus tax per fee per night...outrageous..stayed at another hotel first 10 days of 12 it was 20.00 a nite fee I would not stay here again...sorry Dunes Too many e mails for checking in They have a fast checking prior to arrival...do not use this..it's not secure and staff say there is issues Asked me 3 times for I'd and credit card photos Paid 25 early check in to a 90 percent empty hotel Arrived from other hotel at 12:30 could not check in till 1 room was ready but rules and the $25.00 just another way to Nicole and dime you.....seems front desk is there to upsell every bit they can I'll never stay in this renovated quality Inn again..nope
