The location, the view was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

The blinds needed to be replaced, they are difficult to operate and dirty, and we used them quite a bit, the window sills were dirty, and the windows hard to open and close. It seems that area wasn't noticed by the room attendants much, but definitely the guests notice because of the view and the number of people walking by. It would also be a nice touch to have staff bring coffee for the coffee maker and cups by at some point, we stayed 2 nights and had to go to the front desk for some early the next morning.

The location, the views and the access to the beach were perfect!

The spa and pool was closed and no business center.

We were very impressed with the Cottage by the Sea in Pismo Beach! The setting is beautiful. Behind the pool area is a very nice succulent garden with two large fire pits and sets of chairs in different locations overlooking the ocean and beautiful coastline!!!! There is a walkway- steps going down to the ocean that you pick up right behind the 3 hotels that are in a row facing the ocean. The location of the hotel is excellent- close to the other nearby cities. The two queen bed room was spacious-just as pictured on the website. The fireplace quickly warms the room and the microwave and mini refrigerator are very useful. The room was clean and neat. The towels were much improved compared to other hotel towels- a little softer and much larger bath towels.

The lights that light up the bathroom mirror need to be brighter for women putting on make-up. The toilet in the not yet upgraded rooms is way too low. A breakfast would be a great addition to this wonderful hotel.

Location was great. The inn was beach front, with a 5 minutes walk down to the beach. The beach is quite empty which was nice to take a stroll, relax, take pictures, let the kids play without worrying about many travelers nearby. Located by downtown where bars and food options are readily available.

Breakfast included would be a plus. Just some muffins or bagels or even coffee would put the cherry on top. The fire pit does close at 10pm, while the neighboring hotel's fire pits stayed on later. The kids took forever to get out there, and we only had 15 minutes to enjoy some smores since 1 of the fire pit was broken, and the other 2 were full.

Our family felt very comfortable and safe with our stay. The temperature in the room was perfect! We didn't even need to adjust the temperature unit. The complex as a whole felt very accessible to everything. The pool, parking, lobby, resting area with fire pits, the ocean, restaurants and other stores were very much close by!! The Location truly was excellent and very convenient for a family with kids or without kids. Our room did not have a view but the spectacular view was mere steps away. The pool, hot tub, fire pit with chairs and easy access to the beach made our stay such a memorable and relaxing one! Hope to come back soon!

The staff could have been more clear about food charges specifically the prices of drinks and smores bundle. I requested for more towels but was alone with my six yr old son who just got out of the shower (my daughters left to pick up snacks at a grocery store). After telling the staff member my situation, they still said it's better to come to lobby and pick up. I would have appreciated that they offer to bring the towels to me. As spacious and gorgeous our room was, we could hear every flush from upstairs and every door opening next door. Not sure if that could be or is worth mending. Perhaps a breakfast option like the hotels next door would make Cottage Inn more competitive with nearby hotels.

This is my favorite place to stay when we visit Pismo Beach. I love the oceanfront rooms with a patio so I can just walk out the patio door and the ocean is right there. We can watch the beautiful sunsets from the comfort of our room. I also love to sit around the firepits in the morning and before going in for the night. The pool and hot tub are always clean and inviting. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I had a problem with my booking this time that was no fault of the property. I was extremely upset about it and once the person helping us Janice heard my reasons she went above and beyond to resolve the issues and make our stay extremely comfortable and exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend Cottage Inn by the Sea to anyone wanting a great place to stay.

That we couldn't stay longer.

Everything! No, seriously. From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with the friendliest staff member! He gave us dinner recommendations, a full run down of the property and made us feel extremely welcomed. We went back up to the lobby later that night, to purchase some sodas and wine. The same gentleman helped us and was a ray of sunshine. Our room was clean, comfortable and roomy! There was a fireplace, which added to the ambiance. We had a patio room, that allowed us to walk out to the railing that overlook the ocean. There were fire pits outside, with multiple chairs and tables. It was the best little weekend getaway!

There wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t like!

The location was right above the cliffs and the ocean was below! Perfect beach excursion down the steps to the ocean front! However, the pathway to get to the beach from the cottage inn was a bit congested with the other guests from the hotels adjoining the same area.

I didn't agree with the refund policy at Cottage Inn by the Sea. We had to leave a day early and the hotel refused to refund my last day booked with them. I was out 166.00 and was told that it was my fault because I booked through Booking.com instead of their property website. I will not stay there again. I've never had issues with Booking com or their hotel partners. This was an unpleasant and unprofessional stance their management takes in retaliation to guests who use third party booking agencies to save money or earn points for their stays .

From the moment you pull in to this property it is stunningly beautiful! Exactly as pictured. The staff were friendly and helpful at check in. They were aware of our drive and made dinner recommendations that were within walking distance of the hotel. From there we ventured all the way to town and to the beach before walking back to the room beachside. It was a great walk! Perfect at sunset! Of course that meant walking up the steps to the property, which was a great workout! We enjoyed the hot tub and pool while chatting with guests. And then back to our room to fall asleep to the ocean waves! Glorious! In the morning we enjoyed our coffee and grab and go breakfast from our room, listening to the ocean and taking in the views. Our only wish was that we had stayed longer!

The pool gate wasn’t working. And the pool towels are smaller than the bath towels.

Location. Amenities. Extras in the room like a microwave, a fridge and a fireplace. Size of the room. Desk paper and pen. View.

I don't like the window covers. I wish antibacterial hand soap was placed in the bathroom. Firmer pillows. Complimentary robe would be nice. Parking should be free. Quick overview of all areas when cleaning...I found lash extensions around the bed. (Not mine, I don't use them). The drawers where you keep clothes by the TV are somewhat difficult to navigate. Better handles please .
