I had a great stay. Hotel was right off the freeway exit. I loved the pool, was in it at 9am everyday of my stay. Room was clean and roomy. Walked to the other hotel's nearby, There is stairs to walk down to the beach. They are located by the last hotel. Forgot it's name.

I wish the TV selection would of allowed me to add my net flex or prime.I didn't have the ability for the apps. They had pay per view, but at 21.99 I passed. I already had seen them. LOL. I had the patio ocean view room loved it. The sun hit perfectly great. Patio just needed an umbrella. Over all I would stay again.

Location is excellent I dint have a room with view but if you get one it is beautiful. Making a reservation through booking doesn’t help to get a good room in this hotel . I enjoyed the fire pits .

Excellent prime real estate location but the facility it is kind of old. We enjoyed the use of the fire pits the gas it is provided from 7 to 10 pm but it works longer time . We notice that some locals and people from other hotels are using the fire pits and there wasn’t any body from the hotel enforcing the rule that they were for the spyglass hotel guests use only. Many locals are using the hotel parking knowing that no body cares.

I loved the view and the genuine care and hospitality of the staff. This might become my standing 4th of July getaway.

The screen door to the balcony didn't fully latch, which would let gnats/flies in. Maintenance came up right away when I mentioned it and cobbled together a fix (it was 4th of July weekend and they were sold out, so I couldn't change rooms). He also said they're getting all new screen doors in the off-season, so at least they're aware of the issue. Room furnishings could be updated, but the rooms are very nice for the price point.

Our room was very comfortable with a balcony & full ocean view. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Lily provided a lot of good recommendations re: places to eat or buy food to bring back within walking distance. The pool & jacuzzi were clean, the temperatures very good. I remember staying here when I was very young, so we knew the hotel would be dated. Though there appeared to be some minor updates, it met our needs. There are supposed to be more renovations planned for Nov. We drove 10 min to Avila Beach resort for golf - great scenery, but it needs more signage to guide you to the next hole. Will definitely return, but would need a map. Lots of shops & places to eat by the beach.

We didn't like that we had to leave. We needed at least 3 more days to enjoy the scenery!

Room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

It is supposed to be a “smoke free property “ but on our 2nd day , smokers moved in below and we could not leave our slider door open to enjoy the ocean. It basically ruined our last day and night. I spoke to the woman whose partner was drunk and belligerent and that didn’t go well. We decided it wasn’t worth fighting with them and figured if we called the office they wouldn’t be able to deal with these people either. They pointed out there was so signs posted anywhere which was true. I only knew because I always check before I book.

The grounds were AMAZING... The view of the ocean and the walking path along the other hotels and to the beach was amazing... Very well kept and very nicely thought out... The rooms were perfect... Loved the bottom floor ocean view room with fireplace... That was the BEST!!! And the AMAZING flowers and plants it was REALLY peaceful and calm...

I didn't like that my room didn't have a tub. I would have loved to take a bath... And I didn't like that they allowed people to smoke in the fire pit area ... The smoke would blow to the rooms... Those are my ONLY complaints...

Location. This motel shares Location, view,and nice walkable path with 2 superior neighbor hotels and therefore it improves its old,unremodeleled appeal due to that fact.Also ocean view is good from the 1st or 2nd floor if you are lucky enough to book it and pay a little extra for that option.

Wallpaper is peeling off the wall and it looks like it has been been repaired too many times in the tub room. Some stains on the carpet. If replaced it wood be more pleasant to stay. Also,it would be nice if the restaurant reopened. We liked that restaurant in the past.

The location is perfect. The patio views and the fire pits are great! We love watching the sunset off the deck in the bar. November 3, 2024 the restaurant/bar is closing. In the future we will have to drive somewhere for dinner, so sad!

We visit 3 to 4 times a year, we’ve been doing this for years. We stayed in room 125, not our usual room. The door had large gaps and was hard to close. The weather was good so that wasn’t an issue, but we could hear everything outside in the parking lot. We never leave home without a sound machine, we did find a setting that allowed us to sleep.

What did we like about the Spyglass Inn? Pretty much everything! The view was stunning! High on top of a cliff looking down at the crashing waves of the ocean below. There is easy access if you walk down a little ways to actually get to the beach and the walk was beautiful! And you can just walk out of your room at least from the suites to a little grassy courtyard where they have chairs and a gas firepit. We also ate at the restaurant which was just steps from our door The spy glass inn restaurant and the food was really really good! And the happy hour super good prices amazing! This will be a new favorite of ours! We loved it! There were bunnies in the courtyard and bluebirds. And of course pelicans, cormorants and seagulls flying by and the multiple of other birds like sparrows, finches you name it. This is a gem in a paradise! Also service was fabulous very attentive and accommodating and friendly so we'll be back here again no doubt!❤️🤗 (It was hard to leave)

Mmm, What didn't we like? Can't think of anything because there was absolutely nothing to complain about 🤗

We got a second floor room with a balcony view of the ocean - it was beautiful. The room is way bigger than typical motel rooms. The check in staff was very helpful recommending a restaurant - Old Juan's Cantina is five miles away or so, but the Mexican food there is fantastic, and this is from a guy who cooks his own and is tough to get a good grade from. The location is very good if you're looking for a peaceful stay - on the far west end away from all the Pismo Beach off-road activity.

Things are a little tired looking; the place has the feel of a cleaned up and well-maintained motel built in 1963. The view makes up for it.
