Everything from check in to check out was phenomenal. Maria checked us in and she was so friendly and welcoming. There was a little misunderstanding with the booking (not Avila Lighthouse's fault) and she gave us a lovely bottle of wine to make up for it. We were also offered beach chairs and boogie boards if desired. The chairs actually came in handy on the beach, which is literally across the street. The room was large and super clean. Loved our balcony with a view of the ocean. If you can do it, pay the extra to get the ocean view. It is worth it. The continental breakfast was fresh and had a great selection of items. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and a decent size. The staff at breakfast and all over the property were cheerful and helpful. The hotel is right on the main strip, so plenty of shops and restaurants are walking distance. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed one night at Avila Lighthouse just for a quick getaway and to explore Avila Beach and we had a great time. The room was clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Water pressure and airconditioning were good. The pools and hot tub were clean. The breakfast was very good. I especially liked the honey dripping from the honey comb spread, nice touch. The location was perfect. It is located right at the beach and the shops and pier were all within walking distance. Our room was on the second floor facing the beach. And sitting in the patio early morning was very relaxing.

I thought the parking was part of the room rate. But we were still charged for $15 for our one night stay. Also, the restaurants closed at 9pm (It was a Monday night). So we had to do Doordash. They didn't room service for food.

We had a very large suite (104) that comfortably accommodated 3 adults and one child. We especially liked the easy access to the beach and the pool area. We also appreciated the family friendly atmosphere, the lawn games and availability of beach chairs. I also really liked the coastal cottage design of the hotel. Front desk personnel received us very warmly and were always very responsive to questions and/or needs. We certainly appreciarted that breakfast is included.

The breakfast room felt chaotic. The traffic flow really needs improvement. It does not work to have dish ware under the counter especially where the waffle machine and cereal are located. That area was always congested, people were having to reach in front of others and under to reach dishes and bowls, people would place their plates with food in front of the cereal while waiting for the waffle machine...also, the yogurt and fruit bar is not well placed, too close to the front door and the waffle machine, it was difficult to get around people in this area.

Hotel is steps from the beach, and walking distance to most restaurants, and knick-knack stores. Wine tasting rooms also within walking, but was really impressed with the hotels complimentary breakfast! My dog felt very comfortable throughout the property which was priceless!

Well, I don't think handicap parking on the property should cost$15 a night, or any spot if you're a paying guest. Maybe add an extra $15 towards price of each room, because I didn't feel that adding it to my card after I paid the total bill was transparent. Also, my disabled friend has never had to pay for a handicap spot. Our suite could have used some upgrades in the bathroom, and there should be instructions to working the air conditioner... But these aren't deal breakers because maintenance service was very helpful! I would go back....

We liked the room, the amenities, the friendly staff, and great view from our bedroom. Nice to hear the waves. Great to have a door to separate the living room from the bedroom. The music at the pool wasn't too loud. The property was well kept, the landscaping was nice. The staff did a good job caring for the property (pool especially) after hours. We also liked the breakfast, with a good variety.

The living room was dark and could use more lighting, but the bedroom was bright and airy. Didn't like the landscaper equipment starting so early, around 8am.

Exceptional property at a lovely, laid back beach town. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful that we encountered in California. We loved that we could borrow beach chairs and equipment and our kids loved the pool. It was the perfect place for some R&R on our road trip. The rooms were big and comfortable and I would highly recommend going for a sea view suite. The quality of the food at breakfast was also very high. The range on offer was a bit more limited than at some of the other hotels we stayed at but that was no problem for us.

Great location, friendly staff, very clean, nice facilities.

We rented a suite which was a waist of money for a couple, the suites are separated into two rooms, sitting area is dark and does not have a view of anything, maybe good for a family that needs separation. Bedroom area has the beach view so we never left the bedroom. Also, there are no dishes, paper towels, silverware or wine opener you would expect in a suite. Breakfast was also disappointing. Beach front is sort of false advertising as there is a very busy street between your room and the beach.

Loved the location, across from the beach. Very family friendly, nice pool and spa. Games around the courtyard for the kids or family to play. Nice breakfast selection included. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Restaurants all within walking distance. We will definitely return.

We really didn't have any negatives. Our beds were made without a top sheet for some reason but that was a quick fix to get the sheets from housekeeping.

Boutique hotel on the beach and literally steps away from downtown restaurants, playgrounds, and other amenities. Closed to hiking/biking trails. Large suites with nice vistas. Great onsite amenities: nice pool area, great breakfast, fire pits, onsite mini market (snacks, sodas, alcohol), onsite games: mini golf, large checkers, corn hole. Friendly hotel staff. Easy access to Pismo beach and Morro Bay. In summary: Our new favorite family hotel; We already booked our next stay!

Small pool towels, room was a bit dated. Mattress sofa bed wasn’t the best. But any of the above were minor things that didn’t really bother us much.

The location of the hotel is PERFCT if you looking for a beach holiday. The staff and amenities were great.

On more than one occasion we went to reception and there was nobody there - never experienced this in all our travels. On checkout we waited quite a while to be let into the lobby as all the doors were locked and nobody responded to the bell or knocking on window. We even called from the room. We did mention on checkin that we are doing a VERY early check out and it was "noted" .... Could you please ensure your reception staff are visible. There's NO reason guests should be left waiting.
