The location of this property is to our liking. It is just a couple of blocks from the harbour and a block or two off of the main street. The staff is always friendly. The lady that takes care of the breakfast room is super efficient and on top of everything.  it is also great that you have covered Parking.

We had never upgraded to a suite before. We enjoyed the extra room for our stay. The one thing I missed in this room was having a dresser because I always like to unpack my bag. The only place to do so was in the bathroom behind the door where there were Shelves. There was a double vanity area outside of the bathroom, which was nice to have except the lighting was so terribly bright and overwhelming, we tried not to use it. The lights need to be on a dimmer or smaller wattage.

The place looks nice, clean and modern. The 2nd and 3rd floor lobbies have a nice sitting area with a good view of Morro Rock. The rooms where clean and so was the bathroom. The place has an elevator and sun decks with nice views of the area. The place was really peaceful and quiet plus plenty of free parking on property.

Well the breakfast of could of been better with more food choices but the staff there where helpful and nice at least. The king size bed took some time to get used to because it's was a somewhat hard memory foam bed but with time I got accustomed to it.

The building, decor, atmosphere, rooms, location were great. Balconies and views were great.

Breakfast was very very disappointing. There really was not much: no scrambled eggs (just cold, hardboiled ones), no bacon/sausage etc, no yogurt, no bagels, not even cream cheese... I have no idea how they could find such bad oranges in California either, maybe supermarket scraps? At least they had a waffle maker and porridge, or I would have to get breakfast outside. Breakfast service was done by a single old lady and I felt bad for her but it was really not what such a nice hotel should offer. It would be far more honorable if they just offered coffee and snacks, but don't call this American breakfast.

Was greeted with a smile, clean/comfortable property. Rooms were very nice and clean. For the people that complain about water pressure ect, water pressure can always be better but you’re not at home! I was able to shower without a problem. A hotel stay is supposed to hold you up when you’re away from home! Hotel completely served its purpose. Location is a 2-3 minute walk to the water front. Great area with restaurants/bars within a few minutes walk or a very short drive.

That the front desk closed at 9pm and there’s nobody on site in case of issues needing immediate attention.

We love staying at LA Serena in due to the convenience of the location and affordable pricing. Great views, fairly quiet location (except for seal in the bay lol) we enjoyed the balcony and spacious room. Only wish there was more seating in the room

The only downsides to the hotel is the elevator was down (but we saw people use it) and had to take the stairs (which isn't a big problem, just a convenience thing) and breakfast kind of lacked. The last time we stayed 3 years ago there was more variety. We were fine with the waffles but had to go elsewhere for a full breakfast.

The hotel is very well located within walking distance of the seafront/bay and Morro rock. It has got free and secure parking. We stayed one night and slept really well. The beds and pillows are really comfy and this was our best night during our stay in California. Our room was next to the vending and ice machines but couldn't hear a thing. The room was clean with a fridge, microwave, coffee/tea machine. There is an extra sink outside the bathroom which is really convenient for family. Free breakfast was included, simple and nice with a choice of cereals, bread, cakes, fruits and waffles. We made some "homemade" waffles and that was delicious. Lovely and cute breakfast room simply decorated with Halloween stuff.

No staff was there when we wanted to check in. This wasn't a problem for us as we went for dinner during the 45mins window we had until someone was back.

Breakfast was Ok, ran out of muffins early, only white type bread even if one brown in color, but overall a reasonable choice of what to eat, fresh fruit, fruit juice, a bit heavy on starch, but satisfactory. Otherwise, very clean, freshly painted, lots of bird books and prints, visually very pleasant. Without the noise, would give a 10.

The problem is that requested and was guaranteed a quiet room. They hadn't reserved one, was put in a room just across from ice machine and 2 vending machined. Complained, put in an upgraded room looking at Bay, but under the breakfast room sun deck. In room around 5 pm, sounded like elephants and a basketball player. Complained, on 2nd request, reception got people to quiet down, but noise from deck from 7:30 to 9 at night. Very much not satisfactory.

The breakfast was toast, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, amd waffles. There were also some fruit, muffins, and little cinnamon rolls and juice. Coffee was good! Our room was clean, comfortable, and relatively quiet. Laundry facilities clean and easy to find. Small patio areas on 3rd floor and lounge areas on floors were lovely. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

Would love to have more protein offerings with breakfast.

The property was really nice! We loved our room. It was very spacious with a super comfy bed! Refrigerator and microwave are always a plus. Also loved the Dove brand toiletries in the room. We had a great view of the rock and fully enjoyed the breakfast room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved all the decor and the little library seating area on the 2nd floor.

The ONLY thing I didn't like was the size of the balcony in our room. I wish it was large enough to be able to sit out there.

Breakfast was minimal but enough to start our day. No eggs, bacon, sausage or even yogurt. I can’t eat carbs due to health reasons so it was a struggle but made it work. Waffles, toast, English muffins, oatmeal and hard boiled eggs was about it. Spiced apple juice, orange juice and coffee were good. We slept good for the most part.

We were woke up early morning from walking on the floor above is (3rd floor) and when we realized breakfast was on top floor we knew it was the staff. That was not real exciting to be woken up that early.
