I arrived at the Masterpiece Hotel around 7:30 PM on my motorcycle and appreciated the free parking available on site. The staff were friendly and check-in was smooth. The room was spacious and comfortable, which was great after a long day on the road.

The spa pool was unfortunately cold, which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to using it. Breakfast was very average—nothing exceptional, similar to many other places in California. I was also surprised to see a heavy use of single-use plastic items (cups, forks, spoons, and knives) instead of more sustainable options.

The hotel was fine and we had a large room with two beds, a dining table, microwave and fridge. Each day we had the buffet breakfast provided by the hotel which had a small range of items but included oatmeal and make your own waffles. Parking was good an the hotel is in a reasonable location, a short distance from the beach and shops.

We used the small spa but there were no changing facilities and the towel provided was no bigger than a hand towel. Some of our furniture in the room was poor quality and broken and the fridge was wet inside, dripping from the freezer compartment. One member of staff seemed very unhappy and overworked while the other was friendly and cheerful.

The Masterpiece Hotel is always such a fantastic place to stay! Our room was clean and cozy. Perfect for our mini vacation away from the kids! With that being said we HAVE stayed here before with our 3 kids and that stay was beautiful too!! We had an issue with our tv but the young lady from the front desk was so helpful and so personable. She chatted with us and just was downright amazing! I forgot her name but she was one of the best parts of our stay. The bed & pillows were super comfy. The room had PLENTY of electrical outlets for all our needs. We were even surprised to find a small fan in the closet which was very nice too! The bathtub was large enough for my shower chair as I have a disability. The hotel offer Dove hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner, and body wash! The breakfast in the morning was delicious. You could make your own waffles, get a bowl of cereal, eat some fresh fruit, coffee and juice. There were even muffins!! Oh and did I mention there were eggs too? Eggs! In the Great Egg Shortage of 2025!! We will definitely be back!

original room was totally excellent I had a walker due to a recent injury so we moved down to main level. This second room was too hot (could not turn off heat) bed was totally worn out and I felt like I was going to fall off the edge

I like to be very close to water and this hotel is not. however, since I could not walk far, it didn't matter this stay

Our room was wonderful: very spacious, comfortable and equipped with a microwave, coffeemaker, and mini-fridge. We didn't use the fireplace, but I would love that in colder weather. Included breakfast was terrific.

Though it wasn't a big deal to us, the hotel no longer serves wine and cheese in the afternoon as advertised. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful, but we had a couple of interactions with the front desk staff that left me wishing they'd take a field trip to some other hotels to learn what good hospitality looks like. (A simple smile goes a long, long way.) Looking out on the parking lot wasn't spectacular, but I could see a tiny sliver of Morro Rock from my balcony, and some gorgeous sunset views! The first night I didn't realize our heater was on; make sure to check it out so you don't lie awake all night sweating. (My fault!)

The room was clean. We stay here often. We enjoy the hot tub. We appreciated that you changed the the way you get in the rooms, especially the hot tub room. That was always a problem. Decent breakfast. We love staying here. We live in Paso and this is where we always stay for a get away.

The bed was a bit to firm. wish you had a charging plugs on both sides of the bed. The oatmeal one day was perfect and the second day it was watery. Other then those minor things there isn't any we don't like.

the accommodations are great, very comfortable bed, hot shower with good water pressure. large room with sofa. very clean, very tasty breakfast. a good advantage is the free parking, as we arrived by car. I had a great impression of the manager who welcomed us beyond check-in time as we arrived late because Highway 1 was closed at one point, and we had to return for much of the trip.She was very cordial. Thanks for this (unfortunatelly I did not ask her name).

I can't speak to the same cordiality as Jenny. At breakfast I was very curious to try the famous waffles (I had read about them before booking the hotel), however I had never used the machine (you make your own waffle), and when asking for help from Jenny who was at the reception she was really rude, helped with grudging, made me feel uncomfortable throughout breakfast. Jenny, your face when helping us ruined our experience, you don't need to treat people like that!

Great location near the stunning coast, 20 minute walk to Pacific Grove restaurants, very close to the Sunset Drive entrance to the beautiful 17 mile drive. Pacific Grove is quieter than Monterey but you're still very close to Cannery Row etc. Whale watching from Moss Landing was amazing. The Inn had a pleasant, safe and friendly atmosphere. Good coffee and breakfast snacks.

A bit overpriced for fairly simple accommodation but everywhere seems to have hiked up prices around the Monterey area in July.

The downstairs spa was wonderful! That was the main reason we chose this hotel. The continental breakfast was tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Our bed was not comfortable for us. We both have back issues, and we used the sofa bed and a lot of pillows. Then we slept well. I think it is just that our bodies are getting older.

Good breakfast. Nice art in the hallways.

Just a minor complaint the did not bother us but I did let the staff know when we checked out. Our small balcony had a pile of crushed cigarette butts and bird droppings. It was cold so we did not spend much time out there so no big deal. Just out of character given how well maintained and clean everything else was.
