If you want to experience some 19th century charm and have a location near the Capital Park I highly recommend staying here. It has the feel of a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. I parked nearby at the garage next to K street. I was attending a conference at a booked out Hyatt - so this was perfect as it was only a 5" minute walk away.

As with many California Cities, the downtown area also has homeless. I am fine with this but folks should also know. Also the hotel is a wedding venue, so if you don't like seeing people celebrating one of the most important days of their life, maybe not for you. I was in a 3rd floor room and heard nothing in my room from the party below. I plan to make this my go to hotel for Sacramento trips - I love the history, value, and convenience.

Historic elements preserved in moldings and other aspects. It had an elevator.. Bed very comfortable. Had fridge and coffee maker. Two man jacuzzi tub was a nice bonus. Large room and good air con. Location downtown was convenient pretty close to old town which is great. many blocks of historic building on the Sacramento river front. Near some very good restaurants. Worth a stay for several days.

Limited office hours makes it a bit of a bother for late checkin. Parking is either on the street with parking meters that seemed to only accept 4 hours at a time or a public parking garage about a block away

The location is VERY nice and the building itself is gorgeous! The room was clean and the bed was comfy too. The staff was friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. The neighborhood is very quiet even though its next to downtown. I was able to have a very nice and relaxing stay here!

My only issue here was the shower. The shower in my room had a hand held shower head but the little "hook" thing you're suppose to put hang it on was broken, so it was kind of in the way during my shower. Other than that, the chair in my room looked a little... dusty? hahah Nothing bad or anything, just looked like it could use a little cleaning is all

Property is nice, some things are a little old but overall was very satisfied.

A vending machine with water bottles and/or basic essentials would be nice, since their desk is open only for limited hours (like 8.00am to 4:30pm or something like that). On a side note, I was there for the CIM marathon. I asked for a late checkout of 2 extra hours on Sunday to be able to come back and shower, but they asked me $75 extra for that. Given the fact that the price was already high for a hotel with self check in / checkout, I felt being gouged just because was marathon weekend.

Absolutely stunning historic boutique hotel. The gorgeous furniture, the wooden fixtures and crown moldings, the interior design were a chefs kiss. The building kept its classic charm but was updated with modern amenities such as their contactless check in, heating system, keurigs, and more. The bathtubs were phenomenal.

I have no complaints

The property was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. I loved the AirBnB style of it. I would definitely stay here again.

I think that the refrigerator should be on a table or something rather than the floor. A microwave would be nice in the room.

The location was very good for what we needed. The building itself was beautiful and unique. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

We had some problems with internet connection and the lights in the room, but nothing too major. They were mostly minor inconveniences and did not really affect our stay. Other than that, everything else was great.

Loved the decor and the style of the hotel, confortable bed, loved the ease of self entry. Morning coffee and snacks were adequate. Delighted by my room, I had the best view (‘em 300)!

The heater only had cold air and I never could connect to the wifi. Was a bit pricey but it was close to the venue.

The Sterling was an excellent place for our quick night! The young woman running the show was very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. It is perfect walking distance to museums, foodie spots, bars and just being old downtown. Highly recommend! Even not as an event spot. It was just my partner and I for a quick stop through and it was perfect. :)

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly..hotel is great for a period facility..totally enjoyed our stay..WIFI is good in lobby but weak elsewhere..if you travel by motorcycle to the hotel like we did..forget trying to park at the suggested parking facility..motorcycles are forbidden..street parking for free is available for motorcycles on 13th and H street..

No complaints..was a fine stay..!
