The room cleanliness

I was first assigned to a room on the 2nd floor, but requested for a change because the entire floor was smelling of smoke. It looks like guests have been smoking on the floor and the scent is very strong there. This has to be addressed. My second room , 101 also had a problem. The water in the bathroom does not flow well and leaked into the bathroom the first day. I had to be extra careful when taking my bath waiting minutes for the water to slowly leak out before rinsing myself.

Location is great. The room was clean when I checked in. Staff were very helpful and responsive to my requests.

Breakfast had a few healthy options and fruits (apples) and no variety. During my second day, they had was yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, an assortment of bread, but no rice, potatoes or bacon (which they had the previous day). Coffee wasn't great

The staff were really flexible and helpful. For example reception person walked me to my room twice when I had no sense of direction. Another reception person spent 15 minutes on the phone with my sister directing her to the motel as she was so lost!

I would have liked a restaurant for evening meals or for the little shop to be better stocked. I felt that there was an air of ' fortress mentality' about some of the management routines. There is probably good reason for this, but it was nevertheless sad.

The room was clean and quiet. Though near to SJC, I never heard a plane. Breakfast was actually quite good, with hot scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, fresh fruits and some pastries. (Also included were all the “usual” continental breakfast items most places claim to be their “included breakfast”. (Bagels, juices, cereals.)

The sink was cracked, and water leaked underneath on to the towels and hairdryer shelf. Toilet needs extra attention under the rim. The parking lot is good, but a single-vehicle access thru the gate was partially blocked by delivery vehicles.

Accommodations

The location was less than desirable. There were people loitering in the parking lot drinking alcohol and homeless everywhere outside the gates of the facility. It felt like I was in a foreign embassy, secure inside but not so much outside.

This is my go-to hotel whenever my wife and I are in town visiting her family. I love everything about this place! It's a great value for the money. They have a pool/hot tub. The free breakfast is very good, with plenty of choices. The location is very convenient to the airport, as well as the downtown area. Light rail is just a short walk to First St. and there is even a nice little Mexican eatery practically across the street called La Victoria. The staff is so very friendly and helpful! We upgraded to a suite this visit, and it was awesome! The suite has a kitchenette with a sink, cabinets, a small refrigerator, a microwave and a two conventional burners for cooking. I recommend Country Inn & Suites to anyone visiting San Jose wholeheartedly!

I didn't like having to leave and go back home!

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Making reservations is easy and conveniently located near the airport and main freeways. The room perfectly meets our needs, and the staff is always friendly. This is our go-to when ever we need to come to San Jose.

I loved how clean the rooms were. It was more spacious than I anticipated for a two queen bedroom. The front desk staff was also very helpful and kind, even when we arrived a bit earlier than expected. I would definitely book here again. One of the best hotels I've stayed at!

Perhaps needed to know when cleaning hours were. We took off the Do Not Disturb sign after we left at 12:00, but when we came in the evening, nothing was done. I believe we were told to call, so I believe this is on our end.

The staff was friendly, very clean facility, staff for breakfast were very observant in keeping it clean and stocked.

Our room was smaller than most hotel rooms but it was clean and comfortable enough, my husband didn’t like that only one side had a nightstand, other side very close to the window wall and air conditioner.

Breakfast..need a microwave in the kitchen, food does not stay hot.

I traveled 12 hrs to get to your establishment at 1am to be told we have no reservations.After 30 additional time she finally called someone and they showed her where to find the reservation on her computor..She did not give karen adams who paid for the room her va state license.It was found when we checked out.Unacceptable guest services..
