Upon entering the property you feel like you’re in another world. With beautiful landscaping & quiet nooks/areas just relax and decompress after driving all day. The inn complex & rooms are charming with a calming atmosphere. We were greeted with smell of cookies & hot apple cider. A wine tasting with appetizers. Complimentary and delicious!
We stayed 2 nights & when went to get our next days complimentary cold water bottles, we were denied. Even though, it is complimentary pet night( we stayed 2 nights) and the inn information book stated bottled water bottles complimentary/ night. The girls at desk refused & told us just go fill up our own bottles down in a water room somewhere down hall.? I was charged for each night ( not a packaged deal) a person would think they would receive the amenities & complimentary for each paid night.

I always like the location, room size, fireplace and free cookies.
The staff was cold. We have stayed here frequently, bu this last time, the staff was almost unfriendly. Can't say why. Our room was great (as always) but this time in the lower level where there was lots of hotel storage just in the halls- clothing racks, and luggage carriers, kitchenware. It felt like a basement rather than a hotel floor. The mornings we were there, they ran out of coffee in the lobby (they do NOT have makers in the rooms). Anyway, a step down from our previous experiences. We found another place to stay for the following night which was awesome.

I absolutely loved the charming, spacious rooms at the inn. Each room had a cozy, welcoming feel that immediately made me feel at home. The location was another huge plus — just a few blocks from Downtown San Luis Obispo, which made it easy to explore shops, restaurants, and local attractions without needing to drive. I truly felt that the inn offered great value for the price we paid, especially considering how much character and comfort it provided. While the property is a bit outdated, that only added to its unique charm. It felt like stepping into a beautifully preserved dollhouse, with quaint details and vintage touches that made the experience even more memorable. One small but thoughtful gesture that stood out to me was being offered a freshly baked sugar cookie upon check-in — such a sweet and personal touch that set a warm tone for our entire stay. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would happily stay there again.
I was disappointed that the rooms didn’t have a microwave and that the continental breakfast was limited to a muffin, yogurt, fruit, and a choice of coffee, tea, or cider. Many places are now upgrading their breakfast offerings with options like sausage, eggs, and waffle stations, making the traditional continental breakfast feel a bit outdated. I would personally prefer either paying less with no breakfast included or paying a little more for a better, more modern breakfast experience. I also wasn’t able to check-in early. We arrived around 2 hours before check-in, but no rooms were ready. One of the ways I measure my experience is by the ability to check in early. I’m even willing to pay extra for early check-in, but unfortunately, that wasn’t an option here.

Location close to the school. The cookies the wine the rooms are nice.
The staff (front desk)was quite rude and condescending. Seemed very overwhelmed and stressed and seemed unable to manage those feelings. The windows of my room were unlocked, and I didn’t realize until I went to bed at night and had left all my stuff in the room. Also, stayed in trellis area.. it was extremly loud from the freeway. I could hear every single car drive-by. I had to put my White Noise on really loud and wear earplugs. It was as if I was just standing outside on the side of the road that’s how loud it was. Maybe it’s time to invest in something or windows. Mentioned this to the front desk, who was very dismissive and extremely unhelpful.

We were very happy with the room in the Main part of the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linens were nice quality and clean. The bathroom was spacious, clean and newly remodeled. We didn't really have time to enjoy the facilities, so I cannot remark on them. The staff at the front desk was very friendly.
The staff at the front desk was very friendly. However, I asked about the Farmers Market in Morro Bay and I was told it was on Main Street off the Morro Bay exit. It would have been helpful to have been given a print-out of instructions. I suppose I could have requested them, but I did not. It also turns out, according to our Apple maps, that the Farmers Market was closed that day. Good thing we decided not to go. It would have been nice if the staff looked up the Farmers Market to find out if it was open or not and also to print out instructions voluntarily- to go the extra mile. It also would have been nice if they offered up other Farmers Market location suggestions.

Breakfast was good, friendly service. We chose to stay here bc our family was staying here for a wrestling tournament at the high school. So, the location was excellent! I did love your pillows for sleeping! We were a bit cold sleeping tho. Even with the heat on. It was a very stormy evening tho. Great shower tho!!
The toilet was very low! Hard to get up. Issues with water all over the counter from the sink. Was very crowded around the bed for walking. I’m not opposed to staying again, but I’d want to specifically see the room first. In fact, I’d probably ask for handicapped room.

The staff were amazingly sweet. My mother and I were lovingly gifted with souvenirs and amazing cookies!
The new owners pet much removed all the amazing and charming country decor that made Apple Farm what it was to so many families who loved going there, not just staying there. It was THE destination, if not a part of it. In modernizing the inn, the owners unwittingly took away its biggest charm. Now, it’s a very nice place to stay in SLO -don’t get me wrong. It simply has less chances of distinguishing itself from all the rest of great places to stay in the city.

The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Staff was very nice and parking is free. There is a watermill adjacent to the hotel which adds to the 'old farm' setting...We had some pastries and a coffee in the morning there, which enhanced our experience.
Our room was one level below reception, which gave us the feeling that we are located in the basement. The room was actually on the first floor, on the other side of the building, with a view towards a very small internal court, with not much privacy. The restaurant it's crowded in the morning, with long waiting lines, as this is the only breakfast place around. Food quality is average.

The property is very well cared for and maintained. Seems that a lot of work and love go into it. Everything was very clean. Our room was very cute. Very nicely appointed modern bathroom. Love the idea of the Apple cider to go with the name.
Just one inconvenience that is no doubt personal to us. We are from the northern Midwest—it seemed those from SLO were ‘freezing’. We were comfortable. The heat in our small room was set on 80 and running full blast. It took our breath as we entered and we had difficulty getting it to cool down enough to sleep even with windows open. So we had a rather restless sleepless night.

The king room was much larger than I expected. We had a corner room with a bay window, plenty of room to relax and enjoy the fireplace and the wine from the tasting room. I appreciated that they gave free breakfast bags on MLK day since the restaurant was closed. The property overall had a very pleasant atmosphere with a unique aesthetic. Overall it just gave the weekend lovely energy that would not have been there had we stayed at someplace more generic like La Quinta or similar.
For some reason that we couldn't figure out, the room had a musty smell when we came back after the first day out. There wasn't anything of ours that was wet, so either the bathroom couldn't air out adequately (the cloth shower curtains stayed wet), or maybe there was mildew in the AC unit. Not a huge problem though.
