This motel is perfectly located for entering the Sequoia Park. The park entrance is less than 10 miles away from it. The accommodation is in separate building, which is convenient - very private. It stands a large plot of land, where there is a makeshift zoo with lambs, goats and sheep, which is a nice curiosity. There is space for kids to run around w/o bumping into other people. There is also a good pool. Inside, there are 2 beds and a couch, which you can turn into another bed. The bathroom and the kitchen are pretty small, but still functional.

Kitchen equipment was clearly thrown together with little thought. For example, about 20% of kitchen space was occupied by a huge fridge, which is way too big for a stay of normal duration. There was a lot of pots in the kitchen, but no kettle (electric or usual), which is the number 1 appliance to have (one is much more likely to make tea or coffee than to boil potatoes). There were few cups, and all of them were different. Same for teaspoons. Not a real problem, but makes a very makeshift impression.

Very beautiful property with a little farm by the river, and amazing view from the office. Great location for visiting the national park. The room is very clean and comfortable bed. Good price for the night and Jackie at the office was wonderful to us. Thank you for helping us!

A few things that would make this particular room great. The television is extremely difficult to use , it is too complex for a nightly guest to manage. Also it lost its sound periodically. And the shower needs a caddy to hold soap and shampoo. To put everything on the floor in such a small space is difficult. The heat in the room should work and not rely on a space heater.

Great location, friendly and knowledgeable staff, next to the river and hikes, close to Sequoia NP, and perfect for my family and friends. Our location on the property was quiet and safe. Parking is in front of the room so we didn't have far to walk. There are friendly animals on the premises and places to explore with the family. This motel is very family friendly.

Unfortunately, our toilets and showers backed up due to the septic tank, but the staff took care of it while we were at Sequoia NP so all was well when we returned. The beds are spring so if aren't used to it, it was a little bouncy and slightly uncomfortable (for memory foam sleepers), but I was still able to sleep and loved the fact that we had a lot of pillows which helps for side sleepers like myself.

We only stayed at the lazy J for one night on our way up to Sequoia. I’ve booked because of the reviews seemed good, it seems like a good value, and great locations. And traveling with a toddler, when I saw there were animals on property, it was a no brainer! We arrived very late, but our key was waiting for us. We had a comfortable sleep and woke up at sunrise to enjoy the animals right behind our room and a short stroll to the river to start our sequoia getaway. Will definitely return!

This motel is perfect for adventurous travelers who love nature and animals. The price is right for budget travelers. The views are incredible. The animals are friendly. There are even very active hummingbird feeders on site!

The motel could stand to update its mattresses. Our king-sized mattress sagged quite a bit. As a personal preference, I would have also liked to have a bigger TV to watch movies at night because there's not a ton going on in town, but I don't think it ultimately takes away from the experience.

We had such a great stay here we extended by a night. It’s so convenient for Sequoia. The rooms are really comfortable, and so quiet, we also loved the pool. The Receptionist that booked us in was absolutely brilliant and so helpful and friendly. Watching the humming birds on the sugar feeders was unforgettable. Tony’s Taverna in the town also do a fab takeaway.

Was a little nervous about potentially encountering a rattle snake, luckily we didn’t!

What a beautiful property! The way it is arranged in separate duplex or single style of cabins was perfect! Everything was well maintained, and the owner was friendly and welcoming! Our family enjoyed the pool! The thoughtful arrangement of chair groupings made it the perfect place to play cards and spend time together. We also enjoyed the volleyball net and swings. After touring the park, it was great to have a way to relax! There was also a trail to the river. We enjoyed seeing the goats. Our room had a mini fridge, so it was perfect to keep our fruit/water cool. The owner has so many thoughtful touches - the welcome display in the evening was fun and the lights around the fence perimeter was thoughtful and perfect to help navigate the traffic. There is also ample parking! We will definitely recommend this property for so many reasons and the top of the list is being sooo close to access the park! Also convenient to restaurant options for dinner. Waking in the morning to the mountain view and being able to enjoy a cup of coffee from our porch was memorable!

This was a lovely place. Central green area with a pool, accommodation round the edge but well back. Semi-detached or detached rooms, couple of armchairs and table, outside seating on patio, microwave and fridge, laundry available, detailed info in room pack on local ammenities. Wild Turkey wandering around, Hummingbird feeders at reception, short walk down to the river (also good for birdwatching). Easy drive ip into Sequoia. Pleasant staff, quiet, peaceful and we really enjoyed our stay.

Only a tiny minor thing could be that we couldn't get the tv to come on despite the instructions in the room pack but who really needs a tv when you come to a place like that? If you do need the entertainment there is a large collection of dvds at reception.

good location Great property love being able to pull the car right up to the front door when on a road trip laundry facilities staff was great - very helpful and accommodating clean 2 chairs in the room and a couple of chairs outside! This is important to us as we do not find it comfortable to lounge on the bed.

The bed was squeaky - not horrible but not great only TV option was live TV.. again, not a huge thing but next time I would bring a computer so I could watch a little TV in the evenings.

The hotel area was lovely. There was a large open with a playground, pool and there were animals there which was lovely. The room was a great size with a full bathroom. It was definitely an older room but they had done the best with it. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a park out the front.

It was an older room, so things were a little tired. We also found earwigs in the bedding, which is perhaps unavoidable given the location, but it did impact our stay a little.
