The Lakeview rooms were amazing! We saw so many different types of birds, some frogs, and even a beaver! It was such a fun little stop off on our trip and a great place to stay for access to Indiana dunes! As an added bonus, the rooms were large and the breakfast was fantastic!

The common area in the hotel is a little outdated and the pool didn't have much depth variability. The entire pool was too deep for my 6-year-old to stand (she's a decent swimmer but gets tired), meaning an adult had to be in with her the whole time.

Brittney checked us in and she is delightful. Comfy bed and clean room with a great view. We were placed in a handicap accessible room which made me uncomfortable having in the event someone with a handicap needed a room. When i went to the desk with my concern we were offered another room with no concern. Breakfast was very nice with a nice variety. Restaurants just around the corner within walking distance.

The toilet paper holder. Anyone has to be a contortionist to do that reach around, grab and snatch. I simply took the roll off and set it on the shelf under the counter and it worked out just fine. No physical injuries.

The staff was really friendly. The facilities and my room were clean and smelled good. My husband and I had a king lake view room, and the view was beautiful. I liked that the bathroom was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion, and bodywash.

My only complaint was the bed and pillows. The bed was a little firm for me, and the pillows were somewhat flat. I usually bring my own pillow but forgot it. My husband said they were fine.

We were pleased with the breakfast. We slept in and went down to breakfast room about 8:30 and it was fully stocked!. Eggs and sausages were fresh and plentiful. The attendant was very helpful and taught my husband how to make a waffle. She was so sweet. Tables were clean. This Best Western had the best breakfast bar we have experienced in awhile.

We had a little trouble figuring out where it was. The Water Bird and the Best Western are so close together and look so much a like. I thought the Best Western entrance need some distinction.

I LOVED THIS HOTEL!! If you love the outdoors, get a room on the lake side. I'm sure they are more expensive, but they are worth it! As a nature lover I loved watching all of the wild life in the lake, day or night. It was very relaxing sitting on the small balcony enjoying the view. The rooms aren't fancy but they are nice. The staff were friendly. Nothing bad to say about my stay here.

The hallways are a little dated, but if you care about the hallways at your hotel, you have bigger issues.

The location is simply great on a lake and if you have a lakeside room it's perfect. And one of the closest if not the closest hotels to Indiana Dunes National Park. Quiet room and well equipped.

Only negative was they have lights that are motion detected in hallway and bathroom, good idea but ours kept coming on during the night when no one was moving about. Breakfast just ok, not great.

Big rooms with good working refrigerator and microwave. Nice swimming pool and decent gym. Good bed and shower. Friendly staff.

Breakfast very minimal and location not very inspiring.

Location was great--easy to get to Indiana Dunes State park; only about a 10 minute drive or so on 49. Room was spacious with microwave and fridge in the living room. Great lakeside view. Short walk to Chesterton

they need to replace the towels--very thin! And there is the sound of trains at all hours of the day, but muffled--not like it is right next to the inn.

I liked how you could see the housekeepers all the time. It made me happy to know that the rooms were in fact being cleaned.

There was a group of people who had a bunch of children around 12 years old that kept running around the halls on the last night of my stay and when asked who was running around claimed they had no clue.
