Breakfast was great -- your good old midwestern sort of eggs/toast/bacon/potatoes and juice -- and the host makes particularly delicious fried potato with rosemary... also it's a wooded area, easily accessible off the main highway but no issues with traffic noise at all. The place has "character" -- the hosts also have "character". We were quite happy two nights. Oh, I almost forgot about the Guinea hens running around in the yard and the woods. They are pretty cool. Never stayed anywhere ever at any accommodation that included Guinea hens in the package. The location was perfectly convenient to Columbus Indiana, which we visited for the architecture tours, the tourist trap townlet of Nashville, and the nearby state park. Mere minutes by car to all three, but definitely rural.

Espresso? Host's coffee was perfectly fine, and there's hoity-toity coffee in town!

The hospitality is second to none. You are immediately greeted by Jim, a very fun individual. You just feel welcome. There are local places that you get discounts if you say that you're staying here...but you might not want to leave the establishment. Cozy rooms, and just a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are just the right size. This place is a getaway. I didn't want to leave. He will tell you all the things you should try in proximity to the Lil Black Bear Inn though. The breakfast is outstanding. I can not recommend this place enough, on every level. A+++. You feel like you're staying with the hospitality of a good friend that's got a great personality.

Super clean... well..... everything! Very comfortable bed, serene setting with a view of the woods, and a nice hot breakfast each morning similar to what I would make at home on a Saturday. Very nice array of teas for me and hot coffee for my husband any time. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, as well. They left taffy in the room! Very nice touch.

Next time, we'll get a room that's a little bigger. It was cozy. :-) Also, parking and driving up and down the hilled driveway was a little tricky with a full-size truck, but not unmanageable.

The Inn is set in beautiful grounds with plenty of places to sit peacefully and relax. The hot tub is great as well. You can help yourself to coffee and a good selection of teas in the dining area all day, and there’s even cakes and fruit. The room was comfortable, with a good bed & shower and sliding doors to the terrace.

Nothing that I particularly did not like. Just good to know breakfast is at 1 set time (9 am) and the same fry up type breakfast for all. Which may not be to everyone’s tastes / less convenient for early departures.

We went there to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary, The host Jim made us feel very welcome. We were served a wonderful breakfast each of the two mornings we were there (same menu both mornings). The Morning Glory room was very comfortable and on the first floor. We were enthralled with the guinea fowl that were freely roaming around the property.

One suggestion would be to install a handicap handle/grip in the shower. There was nothing to hold onto when entering or leaving the tub/shower.

I had never stayed in a smaller more personal inn/bed and breakfast and had reservations about trying something new but it was so quaint and peaceful and a beautiful setting that felt like home. I was greeted by the owner who was so friendly & mad me feel I’d known him my entire life & that truly added to the appeal of the stay as most places you don’t really get that personal one on one experience. I would recommend anyone give it a try because it was absolutely amazing and I wish I’d been able to stay more than one night but had to get home to care for my father. What a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of daily life❤️

The only thing I didn’t like about the property was that I didn’t book it for a longer stay😏All jokes aside I had zero complaints and loved everything about it.

The breakfast was amazing. I went to culinary school in the 90s. So it’s very difficult for me to get excited about anyone else’s cooking. But their scrambled eggs were a revelation.

Caulking around spa in room and floor up to shower. And deck and stairs to the entrance. I do home maintenance for a living. So I pick places apart. Perhaps way more than others. So if that’s my biggest complaint. We’ll call that a champagne problem

The breakfast was fabulous, I’m still trying to perfect my own scrambled eggs to replicate their’s! It was also really convenient to wake up and have breakfast being made for me on the same property.

The only thing I’d say I didn’t like is that we didn’t book soon enough to choose our room, unfortunately. I would’ve loved to book the room with the jacuzzi for my husband and I to use on our honeymoon.

The room was very clean and comfortable when we arrived. The owner and his wife made a wonderful breakfast for all of the guests in the morning. They took in our dietary restrictions as well and made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was available for us to use as well. The inn is only about a 10 minute drive from the Brown County state park and about 13 minutes from Little Nashville, which is a super cute part of town.

There was only one bedside table, but we made it work. The walls seem a bit thin.

Everything… from our initial greeting, right out of the car… to the kindness of the owner, to the grounds, the room was cosy and comfortable! Breakfast was amazing… I just can’t give enough wonderful accolades! It was a fantastic stay! We will return!

Loved everything about it!
