Clean rooms, clean common areas. Clean bedding and towels. No offensive odors in rooms or hallways. The carpets are high traffic and have some stains but they are always clean...no debris...always vacuumed. The elevator is a tad stinky.The pool area is dated but the water is clean and the chairs are comfortable. The hot tub is hot and is comfortable to sit in. Our room was a double bed with a huge bathroom with extra railings and a bench that was installed in the tub for help with less mobile people...very helpful for us, thank you. The location is fantastic. The neighborhood is not scary like some people have said. It's in a working class neighborhood and the neighborhood is clean and you can see people take pride in their homes and yards. The staff is very friendly. The locals I encountered at close businesses to this motel were all friendly. The free breakfast is very nice as well with many options. Very close to great places to eat. Dairy Zone is fantastic. The Latin King is fantastic.

Some of the mounted hand sanitizers need to be fixed/batteries replaced. The elevator needs a good air out/cleaning to help with the odor. It would be helpful if the main entrance doors had handicap accessible buttons for opening. Behind our entertainment system in our room was kind of dusty...could use a dusting.

Breakfast day 1 was as expected. Breakfast day 2 was similar, though the juice machine was out of juice. The bathroom was very clean and tidy, and the temperature of the hotel was maintained at a comfortable level even without me needing to active my room's A/C unit.

The gap on the side of my hotel room door to the hallway was such that I could see into the hallway and individuals who wished could peer into my room due to the size of the gap. Some insulation to fill the void would be in order.

It needed some protein, bacon or sausage. I ate the waffle .

I had to book through third party as the Google sight did not give a local number. So I didn't get a refund for the last two nights. I feel that was wrong. The hotel could have worked that out with booking.com .

The location of the hotel was across the street from where we needed to be. It was nice having a hot tub and heated pool to relax in for the evenings.

The breakfast was not good. The biscuits and grits (if that's what it was) was reheated by the worker in the microwave. Hoping there would have been some scrambled eggs and maybe bacon or sausage. There was no milk, yogurt,or butter. Not much to choose from. Some of the hotel doors to the rooms do not reach the ground so while you are sleeping you have the hallway light coming through. Rooms smelled a bit musty. Hallways and elevator need a very good cleaning. (carpet washing)

Overall, my stay was pleasant and the accommodations were comfortable. However, the breakfast experience could be improved.

There were electrical issues affecting the waffle maker and microwave, which made it difficult to enjoy the full breakfast offering.

Sam the owner is a great host .front desk staff are amazing. We come to Iowa for TBA Classic every year and l9ve the vibe at Econolodge

The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. We were overbooked by Priceline so the hotel updated our room with no extra charge. We didn’t plan on having to stay in a hotel but it was a good experience in a pinch
