The owners are considerably friendly and courteous. The Hotel has been restored and preserved in a manner that hearkens to a bygone era.

Depending on personal requirements the nearby train runs 2-4 times within 50 yards of the Hotel. This is probably a result of earlier decades when Railroad travel was common and neccessary. We found the train horn to be unnecessary in this particular location as there isn't any street cross traffic posible. However it would not be a dealbreaker! And we would certainly stay again.

The location was excellent, in proximity to Mammoth Caves National Park and at least one private cave, the main attractions of the area. The Victorian house was full of vintage furnishings and decorations, and the hosts strove to be helpful. Also, except for the trains which periodically pass, the spot was peacefully quiet. The breakfasts were tasty and ample.

The room was small, with no real surfaces on which to write or read and walls seeming a bit crowded with pictures. Other than the caves, there was little else nearby, for example dining, shopping, etc. While the hosts were accommodating to us, we think that having coffee, tea and a microwave oven available to all guests throughout normal waking hours would increase the guests' convenience. An intriguing library in the house caught our attention, but signs made it clear that the books were to be viewed on the shelves and not taken down and perused further.

The breakfast was great and the owner was super friendly. It was easy to park and convenient to bring things into our room since we had a room with a private entrance onto the porch. The room had everything we needed, including good pillows, a rare find in hotels these days. Location is great for going to Mammoth Cave National Park.

The biggest negative that people need to know about this place: It's literally 100 feet from a busy railroad track. Trains came rumbling past every 2-3 hours the entire night, blowing their horns and shaking the room. It's SO loud and totally impossible to sleep through!! Another unexpected thing: our room had a gas fireplace in it that would periodically turn itself on and off. We couldn't find a thermostat or any other way to control it. It's not a problem, just kind of odd to have a haunted fireplace in your room... Also, just be aware that since this is more of a B&B and not a big hotel, there are limited check-in hours (3-5pm) and no staff on duty overnight.

This is an exceptional historic property that was brought back from ruins and carefully rehabbed for use by modern travelers. The owners have had experience in doing this, and are providing a very comfortable and memorable stay. The queen bed was comfortable as were the bed linens. A bottle of water was provided for each of us and the bathroom was huge…with shampoo, shower gel and facial soap provided. We have always lived where the sound of a train was prevalent in our lives. This is right by an active rail line and the train runs through it. For us, it was very soothing. If that is not part of your life it could be a distraction. For us, it was delightful.

I did not like that we could not stay longer. It was a very interesting setting, and I would’ve loved to have more time to explore.

Loved the decor/antiques/history of the Inn. Bed was VERY comfortable, and one of the owners, Karin, was there when we checked in. She was very friendly and the room had everything we needed. I actually wish we could have stayed another night. We definitely plan on staying here again in the future!

Everything was great! The only thing to even mention is the location of the Inn to the train track. To be honest, I was tired and didn't wake up once. But, if you are a light sleeper, you may hear the train go by. But that is the only thing I can think of.

Neat, cozy place. Easy drive to the park. Relaxing to sit on the porch and watch the trains.

Coffee was not available until 8 am - for early birds that too late! So we drove to the nearest coffee shop each morning. There was no access to ice etc. after a certain time in the afternoon. There were lots of small decorative items on the dressers - while they added to the charm of the room, there was not a lot of space for travel stuff. Had to move them to a side table so nothing got broken.

We were able to get a last minute reservation after visiting Mammoth Cave Park. The Inn was beautiful and the owners were very welcoming. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and across the street were the ruins of a tavern from the 1800's. We love antiques and enjoyed exploring the Inn and all the period decor. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests before we checked out.

The only negative was that there were no restaurants close by. The owners told us where their favorite restaurant was in the next town over. It was only about a half hour drive and the scenery was beautiful, so it really wasn't an issue.

Very nice staff. I felt right at home, from the start! The location is perfect..away from noise/traffic, except the occasional train. Enjoyed looking at all the antiques, and reading some of Sherlock Holmes (found in my room’s bookshelf)! The porch was ideal to sit and chat/read. Breakfast was great and cozy.

There was a fair amount of dust on the blinds in the bathroom. I have allergies, so i felt like it contributed somewhat to aggravating those issues.

Bed & Breakfast Inn exceeded my expectations. The property was exceptionally clean, decorated to the 1900 century standards and Karin was so gracious and kind. This felt like home. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was truly a delight. Can I make this my home?

I canNOT say that there was one thing that I didn't like about this property. It was truly a "perfect" Bed & Breakfast dream.

The owners of this inn are very nice and accommodating. With the exception of the occasional train that goes by, it is very quiet and peaceful here. There is also so many antiques to look at in the inn always.

If you are a light sleeper, make sure you pack ear plugs to mute the sound of the trains that go by at night. They can be a little noisy and unexpected. Other than that, however, it's a very nice stay.
