This is a good hotel for adventurous people who are willing to interact with a real New Orleans Uptown neighborhood that isn't touristy. Everything in the hotel worked and was clean. I liked the common spaces: the bar/lobby, the other sitting space, and the outside space with a big TV and hanging seats. I was intrigued that people from the neighborhood seemed to hang out there too.

I wouldn't stay here if I were looking for a corporate, upscale experience (some people want that). I wasn't sure about the neighborhood but the desk clerk told me they had private security that roams around nearby. The one thing that bothered me was the smell of the cleaning products, but maybe that's just me.

The property is very interesting. The cute bar also serves as hotel reception. The beds were very comfortable. They gave us two coupons to be used for two libations gratis at the bar. They have a cute outdoor area with tables and wicker swings. The shower had good pressure.

It’s in the middle of a somewhat rundown neighborhood. We kept our car parked on the street and pretty much scootered wherever we wanted to go. We went to the garden district, and the French Quarter. Most of the roads surrounding the property are pretty banged up so we tried to find smoother roads for our scootering purposes. The room was pretty small, so at least we were able to put stuff under the bed since it was a platform bed. We were there for three days and made do but we were on an 11 day road trip so we had a lot of stuff with us and didn’t want to leave everything in the car. They don’t have an elevator so we had to walk everything up the stairs, which was a little bit of a hassle, but again, we made do.

The property was amazing! The area had me a little skeptical at first. But after seeing the courtyard and the warm Welcome at the coffee shop, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. The redheaded gal was the best and super sweet. The hotel room was cute and cozy and the facilities and room were very well decorated.

I did not care for the firmness of the bed, I know it can be hard to please everyone but this was my honest opinion. The sheets did not appear to be cleaned very well as I saw a few hairs upon lifting the sheets . I know this can be from the washer/dryer so I proceeded.

This swanky little boutique-style hotel is located a stone's throw away from all of the action in New Orleans-and that's a good thing. Quiet, reserved, and most definitely relaxing, because the Marsh Hotel is situated away from the busy nightlife of the French Quarter (while still being a short, 10-12mins drive from it), I felt I could sleep better and enjoy some downtime. The option to check in and download your room key via an app had to be one of the greatest perks of the stay-because I travel with work and often don't arrive at my hotels for my time off until late, late in the evening (or in the earliest morning hours), I was still able to head straight to my room, no after hours hassle required. Love this. I did not need to interact with the front desk staff, but they were always friendly when we crossed paths. The beds are so comfortable, I extended my stay another evening, just so I would not have to leave that bed. There are so many wonderful things I could say about this space, but honestly, the cozy quiet was my favorite.

The neighborhood is quiet, and while that's an amazing perk in the long run, there were not many spots to walk to to grab a late night snack or drink. UberEats came to the rescue, and I promise, it did not damper my stay. At all!

The new coffee bar is a nice addition. Staff were super friendly. Lattes were delicious.. Good proximity to St. Charles. Great decor, comfortable bed. Super friendly and helpful staff at the bar. Easy walk to Fresh Market. The private first floor lounge is fantastic, and the outdoor seating area is charming. Very easy check in. Friendly easy vibe.

Noisy room on the first floor with bar noise and other guests. Rooms and bathrooms are well done, but are small. We were surprised that the rooms weren’t tended to daily. Neighborhood is definitely “up and coming.”

Surprisingly a very modern and upscale hotel. As you first walk in, there is a somewhat enclosed sitting area that is mostly covered for optimal shade. There are enough relaxing corners to choose from with hanging chairs and easy casual sitting groups. The hotel has 3 floors but no elevator so be aware of that when booking. The rooms are minimalist design so airy and free of clutter. The bathrooms are no nonsense as well. Contrary to the belief of many that we spoke to, the neighborhood may have some poor corners but for the most part, the small victorian style homes are slowly being renovated and restored with alot of love and patience. The hotel has a very nice cafe and bar that is frequented by the locals. A great atmosphere for good and lively conversation. The manager of the hotel, Joseph, is unbelievably friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a really good cup of coffee or espresso (and I mean European style) this is the cafe to visit but ask Joseph to make it. He seems to have the „Midas Touch“ with the fancy italian coffee machine. Thank you Joseph for sharing some of your time during breakfast. You made our stay that much better.

We had only one cell phone that was capable of working in the US. This hotel doesn’t have 24 hour or late check-in which is usually no problem for the locals. The check-in process was for us a major stress factor: download an app, put in security code and hope the security system can read my phone…. If we hadn’t had my cell phone (extra costs just to get it to work in America) we wouldn’t have been able to access our room.

We really enjoyed staying here. Joseph was so friendly and welcoming and told us how to reach the trolley which was our main source of transportation while in New Orleans. They offered every type of coffee at their cafe and also bar drinks and and food. If I lived in New Orleans this definitely would become my neighborhood cafe with places to sit also in a fun outdoors area.

There was no place for me to place my toiletry bag. If they had a shelf to the right of the sink, this would really help.

Nicely decorated and appointed room. Cafe/bar downstairs and lovely patio. Located in quiet garden/uptown district with easy access (2 blocks) to the streetcar which took you to downtown/french quarter.

Room was on the small side with very little closet space. It didn’t appear to have been hoovered/swept before our stay. Not sure how safe the neighbourhood is but it is well lit at night and whilst there were a few vagrants around we didn’t experience any problems.

Great location for the Mardi Gras parades. Good remodel but some things not done well. In our very small shower they had drilled holes into the tile to put a door and then realized it was too small of a space so they added a shower curtain. Likewise the wood floor they made a wrong cut and just installed it instead of taking it out and cutting another piece. These type of things are not what I was expect at this price point.

Too impersonal Check-in was done via a mobile key. Only a guy behind the bar. Never had any housekeeping in our 4 night stay. Understand it’s an expensive time in NOLA but you expect to get some service. There was a sign in our room that said you had to run the shower and the faucet to get hot water. Did this for 5 minutes and no hot water. The next day was better.

This hotel was extremely comfortable, clean, and the bed was better than my own at home. The check in experience was a breeze, and I was in my room in under 5 minutes. I felt the security of the hotel was tip top, and the cafe downstairs was adorable. But seriously, the best part of the stay was that bed. Turn the AC down and make it cold and find the "fireplace" screen on the TV-best sleep of your life.

"Didn't like" is a little too harsh-the only thing I was mildly disappointed in was the location-while it was away from the hustle of Bourbon Street (I LOVED that part!) it was a slightly long-ish walk to Magazine Street and some of the more locals' nightlife. This is easily remedied by having access to Uber :)
