Because I did appreciate our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Wells, I will attempt a second review, the first was eaten by my computer when I attempted to send it. For the past year we planned our 60th reunion. Chose this inn because of a recommendation from Vermont friends who often stay here. We were not disappointed. The Inn is well cared for and set up for a comfortable visit. The rooms were clean and airy. The pool relaxing after a perfectly grilled lunch at one of the restaurants suggested by Inn staff. I can't say enough about the friendliness and patience of ALL the staff we meet. They truly cared for 4 old, still unorganized, women. Their kindness allowed our gathering to be special... something we will talk about in the years to come. Oh, I forgot the well presented breakfast where we spend time talking and talking and eating.

Can't think of anything I didn't like. Again, the staff really make this inn a wonderful place to stay.

Room was very clean and decorated very nice and modern. Bathroom was very spacious and clean. Loved the black makeup cloths that are provided as well as the bath products. Bed was super comfortable and lots of pillows to choose from. Nice fridge and coffee maker with pods available. All day coffee available in lobby was delicious. As good as any coffee shop. Pool was clean and heated. Complimentary continental breakfast was good. Standard hotel breakfast with a few different options. Not gourmet, but fine. Great location to all in Wells and Ogunquit. Not far from beaches, shops or restaurants. Nice location. Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us a water view without us asking. All staff we interacted with was very friendly.

A/C was very cold in room but we were headed out so just raised the temp and it was fine when we got back for night. Would have liked a disposable shower cap for hair, but certainly not a deal breaker. Overall, little to complain about.

Staff was friendly, offered suggestions for restaurant alternatives which was great, room was clean smelled fresh when we walked in. Breakfast was your standard eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, all delicious! Close by to just about everything in the area including the beaches and being on the 3rd floor with a gorgeous day we could see the ocean in the distance it was so perfect!

Many places closed early or werent open just yet, when I say close early I mean like 8pm/9pm, would like to at least have things open until 10pm/11pm latest. But this is not the hotel this is the surrounding areas.

I have stayed many times at this hotel because I go frequently to Wells. Over the last 10 years I have stayed at 3 other hotels in Wells, two of which I stayed at when I had a dog, the third before this hotel was built. For a routine trip or just a place to stop for the night, this hotel is more than fine. The standard room is a standard Holiday Inn Express room, adequately spacious and clean. This last trip the shower door kept slowly sliding open (so the tracks couldn't have been perfectly flat) which was a first time at this location for me (I have had this issue one other time in my life at a non-Holiday Inn Express hotel elsewhere. The breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express fare: excellent variety and space to prepare food/sit, with trays of cheese omelettes, western omelettes, scrambled eggs clearly prepared in a machine somewhere for all HIE's but satisfying and all you can eat of course. I did not use the pool or any ancillary services

Really nothing other than my particular (isolated event) quirky shower door, and the toilet bowl was an elongated bowl but the seat was for a round bowl which caused no problem at all but clearly hadn't come together originally.

Breakfast was nice to have. Food tasted good. Staff very nice in kitchen area. Enough seating still at 9 am. Nice tv. Fridge, microwave in room. Bed was very comfortable with pillows. Millie at front desk nice. Kaylee too. Nice hot water. Great location close to everything. Everyone else pleasant enough.

Alot of slamming of doors on our floor. People fighting in hallway. Hard to control that behavior. Lobby near elevator ceiling had about 5 large water stains. Easy to replace. Not nice to see. Our bathroom faucet was disconnected from vanity, wiggled back and forth. Trickle of water out of faucet. Water saving I guess.

This hotel was close to the beaches, a small mall, and restaurants. It was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was great with a good selection and I loved the pancake machine! Zoe, the front desk hostess was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions to a local theater.

There is no on site restaurant nor lounge/ bar, although there is a breakfast place and tavern across from the hotel.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!! I WISH THERE WAS A TEN STAR RATING, BECAUSE I WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE IT A 10+ STARS!!!! IT'S EXTREMELY CLEAN, ROOMS ARE GREAT SIZE AND EXTREMELY CLEAN, BEDS ARE SUPER COMFORTABLE ALSO!!!! THE GENTLEMAN WE HAD AT THE FRONT DESK WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! HE WAS THE BEST!!!! IT'S A 5-10 MINUTE WALK TO WELLS BEACH DEPENDING ON HOW FAST YOU WALK😁, PLENTY OF OPTIONS FOR PLACES TO EAT WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE, AND OTHER GREAT STORES FOR NEEDS, IT IS MY NEW FAVORITE HOTEL AND WILL DEFINITELY BE STAYING HERE A LOT!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE!!!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT I PROMISE YOU!!!!!

The location of the hotel was fantastic. The continental breakfast was fantastic. We were so grateful it was offered. The room service was amazing and timely. The hotel and grounds were really clean.

(1) We were forced to leave the pool area when the roof over the pool began to leak and then pieces of the dry wall and ceiling tiles were falling into the pool while my children were swimming. It was far too warm in the pool area and the fans were incredibly loud. (2) There was not enough seating in the area for breakfast. The hight top tables are really difficult for families with small children and there was just not enough tables for the amount of people eating during the breakfast time.

I liked that it was new. Beds very comfortable. Carpeting new. Shower lovely. Shampoo dispenser. Breakfast was excellent. Given it was included. It was quite good.

I liked just about everything. Maybe your garden could have more of a secluded feel to it. We could see the electrical stuff. Lidl have been fenced off. Maybe shrubbery. But still excellent. Because you’re not on the beach I saw comparable pricing on the beach. At Atlantic motel down the street. So for same price I could have been right in the beach. Maybe moisturizer for skin would have been good. Ooh. We could hear the kids in the room Next door. I was surprised it was so audible. They were quite loud as well

Clean, bright facility. Good location. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.

The heat in my room was loud and unfortunately woke me up pretty much all night long. I tried adjusting it but was unsuccessful. Not sure if it was just my room or all the heaters.The pool looked fabulous, but the ceiling was under repair. Spoke to the management about the heat noise and they were above and beyond apologetic and refunded my nights stay. I wasn't looking for a refund as the hotel is really lovely. Mostly wanted to know if it was my rooms heater and was looking forward to a swim!
