It’s a historical boutique hotel with great A/C, comfortable beds, and a large modern bathroom. The spa area was small but nice with great service. Food and cocktails were very good. I liked the location as the people mover aka elevated train takes you to the heart of every downtown neighborhood like Greektown, Cadillac Center, etc. near many great restaurants and bars and close enough for the baseball stadium. Getting an Uber was usually less than 5 minutes and no issues. The building is extremely well preserved and overall a pleasant stay. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Outside noise levels to me were not bad as in some reviews but mostly due to the older windows. Breakfast is a cold bar and warm egg frittatas, really provided as a complimentary expanded coffee bar. I can see where guests, especially Europeans expect more. There is one of the better downtown breakfast spots a block away Dime Store/Dime Building.

The staff were lovely, the hotel was stunning, and the continental breakfast was nice and just enough for us. It's in a great location, and if coming back to Detroit, we would definitely choose to stay here again.
We were first given room 409 which was lovely, with a balcony, but beware the hotel is neighbours with an apartment block and the neighbour next to the headboard was blaring music like it was a night club from 6pm and we couldn't relax. Thankfully, the hotel kindly moved us to room 407 (another stunning room - but no balcony) - next door - and it was much better, but we could still hear the noisy neighbours' music. But it was far more manageable than when in room 409. The dress code stressed us out a bit, but when we got there, 90% of people were in trainers and hoodies, so it didn't seem like it was enforced. (I may be wrong, though)

Wonderful stay at the Detroit Club. The staff was welcoming and service was great. The hotel is gorgeous, from the art work to the furnishings, exploring the property was fun. Loved the basement spa and hot tub area. One of the best hot tubs I have ever used!! Great little gym with clean, updated equipment. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and I loved all the tile work. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean and soft. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The library was such a gorgeous bar with wonderful service.
-Wasn't greeted with champagne as advertised -No recycling, bad environmental stewardship. Only coffee available was keurig which is so bad for our planet :( -Breakfast was boring and the muffins were horrible -The bar is closed on Sundays, after a Lions game?? So disappointing. (It's closed Monday/Tuesday too, so don't expect food or drinks on those days.) -There is no parking and valet is $35 a night. -There are no room amenities... No water (except by purchase), no microwave and a super small fridge with items to purchase for crazy inflated prices. NO COFFEE MAKER?? Come on...

The building is beautiful, the bed was amazing! Every staff with whom we interacted was extremely friendly and helpful. It was within a nice walk to both the arena and stadium for our NHL and NFL games.
The breakfast offering was fair, nothing exceptional, and we needed to ask a number of times for items to be refilled. Based on the cost of the stay, this could have been given more attention. Also, we would have loved being told by staff about the free people-mover that was just across the street from the hotel.. we would have enjoyed taking advantage of it to get to our games.

It was impeccably clean and a very beautiful building. I liked the Library and the cigar lounge. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. The parking was much better than I anticipated and being right next to one of the People Mover terminals was great. Being so deep in the downtown area, it was very easy to get places. The included mini-bar was great, and we definitely took advantage of the bottled water. Having access to the salt water grotto was awesome, and relaxing in it was perfect to start a great afternoon (and the basement was stunning).
Our room was cold, and the thermostate didn't seem to work to change it. We managed, haha. We had some noisy neighbors the first night, but it was taken care of promptly. Besides that, there were no complaints!

Absolutely everything about this property wants to make us come back again for another visit. This was a trip for fun, so I didn't want to find another chain hotel that's nothing more that an identical looking room as the next chain hotel. The Detroit Club was like taking a portal back to the heyday of Detroit. The architecture was amazing as was how the rooms were unique. The onsite restaurant was 5-stars and capping the night off on the 3rd floor cigar lounge was the icing on the cake. I can't wait to visit again.
I honestly can't come up with anything I'd have changed on this visit. I hope it's the same quality the next time we go there. Thanks for the great experience.

My experience exceeded all expectations. I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the hotel staff, The hotel's grand architecture and elegant interior design immediately caught my attention. The attention to detail in preserving the historic charm of the building while incorporating modern amenities is commendable. The ambiance throughout the hotel exudes a sense of luxury and sophistication. My room was spacious, comfortable, and had tasteful decor created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The plush bed ensured a restful night's sleep, and the amenities provided added that extra touch of convenience and comfort. The location of The Detroit Club Hotel is also worth mentioning. Situated in the heart of downtown Detroit, it offered easy access to various attractions, restaurants, and entertainment.
It would’ve been nice to have an ironing board and iron, coffee service, and a desk in my room

The character of the hotel was fantastic. The staff were very friendly. The location was perfect (the People Mover stops right outside the hotel). The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable.
We were on a girls trip and really looking forward to soaking in the salt water grotto, but it was closed for maintenance, and that information wasn’t posted anywhere. Nor were we informed until I asked about the grotto.

Everything. Excellent good at the bar for dinner and breakfast.
We received so many emails and signed so many papers about the dress code. We hauled extra stuff in our backpacks just to comply. We even changed in the parking lot . THEN, no one in the club was in compliance. I certainly understand the idea and history behind the code, but it might be time to relax it a bit.

Quality fresh fruits at breafast
We were guests in this hotel two weeks before so I know there are more TV channels in other rooms. The room I was staying now did not offer TV channels I have had before and I couldn't watch Championship. Personel did nothing. Breakfast has very limited offer and rooms oriented to main street have poor sound protection so I wasn't able to sleep.
