You want to stay here! 1) Location is an easy 5 minute drive to beautiful white sandy Oval Beach on Lake Michigan (15$ to park. Arrive around 10 am if in high season to get a parking spot). I highly recommend the 1 mile nature dune walk from the beach. Steep stairs to walk, but appropriate for pre-elementary and older kids. 2) The owner works the front desk and is a man of integrity. Property cancelled my charge for a double booking a room at the site. The property is more of a 3 star, not 2 star quality-enjoy clean updated bathrooms, good ac, and a bed with only slight settling in the center. I will visit again in appreciation and support of this owner's honor. He provided a no hassle "do the right thing" resolution for me that cost him an unclaimed "no show" room the day before.

Complementary breakfast was fresh and had good scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, gravy, cereals, and fresh apples. Consider providing one non-sugar cereal like Cheerios for prediabetic and diabetic patrons.

The staff was fairly friendly, and helpful. The queen suite that we stayed in was relatively roomy and spotlessy clean. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel, at least at mid-week, was quiet; there was very little noise from the hallway.

The hallway carpet should be updated...and I didn't really like the pool area (compared to other hotels in the vicinity). The room bathrooms are outdated, sure, but are huge; and have long sink counter-tops, which is certainly appreciated. Overall a good stay!

I loved that the staff was so friendly and the hotel was kept very clean. I was skeptical as I usually only reserve 3.5 star hotels or higher for trips like this. It exceeded my expectations certainly.

I didn't like there was no soap in the bathroom for the sink. I also didn't like the coffee and cups were in the bathroom, but literally that's it. Everything else was very nice. Although having updated outlets on the lamps and closer to seating and sleeping areas would also be very beneficial.

Excellent location. Room was clean. Staff very accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Dollar General practically right next door for what you forgot or didn’t bring enough of.

For someone older like me the spa tub was a bit hard to get out of. The shower is in the spa tub. Bathroom not quite bright enough but I liked that it had the toilet paper holders where you could reach them. Some places put it behind you. It also had towel racks for your used and fresh towels. Some places don’t!

Room was spacious and stocked with towels, soaps, shampoo, coffees and condiments. Everything as expected. We didn’t make it to the complimentary breakfast (6 am-9:30 am), nor did we use the pool, so can’t comment on those things.

Pillows on the king bed were smaller and not high end, just adequate. Bed was very firm, which some may like but not for me.

It’s convenient to get to.

The lighting, above the sink, in the Bathroom is way too dim. There were no outlets next to the beds to plug in a phone cord or anything else. Another lamp, like the one on the desk would have remedied that. And, the toilet seat doesn’t fit the bowl. These are not serious issues to you, maybe, but it’s the little details that make a difference. Finally, I was unable to get the veterans discount because I didn’t call the property, directly. So, the price was a little higher than we can afford. But, by check-in it was too late to change. That’s what I was told by the desk clerk.

Although this is an older hotel, the room and lobby are very clean. The breakfast was included and it was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. The location is minutes from downtown Saugatauck. Good parking and an EV charger were there.

The facility was clean, but the bathroom (especially the tub/shower) need to be updated. Every employee we encountered was very pleasant. The breakfast was fine, and ending breakfast at 9:30 was not a problem for us, but I think that for most families with small children, breakfast should be extended til 10:00-10:30. The pool was open from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 pm, so plenty of time to use the pool!

I believe the facility should be more secure. I think guests should have to use a key card for entry into the building.

The staff was very attentive. We couldn't figure out how to control the air conditioner, and we called the desk. The attendant came right up and was very helpful. So polite. I would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

It was a very hotel, it went above our expectations. I will say, the price of the room was quite steep, more than we pay other places. I assume it is due to the area and location. I would say that we would be back, but the price will keep us away.
