Loved the hotel itself and the location. The neighborhood is absolutely stunning and close to major spots in downtown. The hotel has so much character with being a historic site - I actually loved that we got a room key instead of a card. The room was spacious, clean and very cozy. It was also quiet, which was great on a relaxing getaway.
Given the size of the room, it would've been nice to have a mini fridge for drinks and snacks that we had picked up. We had a few perishable items that had to be thrown out. We also struggled a bit with the consistency of the shower temperature - at times it was scolding hot no matter how low we turned it.

The Inn was an historic building in a quieter, more natural part of the city but close to many great restaurants, walking trails, shopping, etc. The staff was very helpful with suggestions. The old bar was very cool and large selection of whisky if you like that. The restaurant was very good with view of the Mississippi.
The Inn is a little dated with the bathroom, plumbing and HVAC. We could never get our room cool. Also the "breakfast" included very sweet muffins, yogurt, oranges, and ok coffee. I liked having bottles of water available, at least during breakfast.

We had dinner reservations at the on site restaurant and it was an excellent experience with beautiful views of the river, Riverplace and St Anthony Main. The interesting history of Nicollet Island and the Inn are well described in materials available in the room. Continental breakfast was simple but included tasty pastries and was available on each floor to enjoy the room in the morning.
Our stay was during a below zero winter cold streak so adjusting the room temp would have been nice with the large windows in the room. To adjust the temp you have to call the front desk. Historic building I get it, but that's just not typical.

The light breakfast was okay and worked for us as early risers. The first night, we were on Room 312, a bad room. The temporary air conditioning fix was a large portable vented out the only window with cardboard and duct tape. Because it stayed warm outside, we had to run the AC all night. It was so noisy, we slept little. We were fortunate that your Friday morning deskperson was able to move us across the hall to Room 310 for our remaining six nights. We enjoyed the Aquacentennial fireworks show from our room. It was spectacular.
It would be nice to have screens on the windows and an AC shutoff so we could have bug free fresh air at night for sleeping. The morning showers would frequently and suddenly turn scalding hot and return to normal after 30 seconds or more.

I really liked the hospitality of the staff. The decoration of the bedroom was also good. They cleaned my room regularly. Both the bathroom and bedroom were very clean and equipped with necessary stuffs. If I were to visit Minneapolis again, I would be happy to stay at the same hotel (Nicollet Island Inn) again.
Everything was excellent except the air conditioner. I could not controll the air conditioner from my room. Eventhough it was winter, sometimes the airconditioner cooled the room instead of heating; I had to call the front desk everytime this happens. The lighting in the bedroom cold have been better.

Beautiful property and beautiful building. Good food places 5-10 minutes away (listed in a helpful guest book) we went to the Aster Café which was a quick walk and Pizza Lucé which was a quick drive downtown. The staff were nice and there was complimentary coffee each morning. Quiet, not many other guests that we saw while staying there. They were very accommodating with the additional requests prior to our stay and check-in/check-out was quick and easy. The room had a physical key rather than a card like most modern hotels and I loved it. However, that means there's only one key.
The windows in the room didn't open and it got quite hot at night. It would be nice to have a microwave. Also, do not disturb signs would be nice to be able to put on the door? It would also be nice if the in-house restaurant had more options for dietary restrictions. Most things were red meat and sea-food.

Great location! Walking distance to many award winning restaurants and the hotel has a very good restaurant as well. Enjoyed cocktails in the lounge, too. Very comfortable, pleasant lounge. Hotel provided coffee and breakfast muffins on each floor, a nice touch being able to get coffee without on/off elevator. Free parking was easy and plentiful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with views of the river.
No complaints. Everything was excellent.

The inn is beautiful and we loved the histric character and ismall size. We didn't have breakfast at the inn but had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant were lovely. Beautiful view, attentive staff - we felt well-taken-care-of. Our room was wonderful - loved those huge shuttered windows that opened to a romantic river view. Inviting linens and nice toiletries. We had a great walk in the morning along the river. The location was also so convenient to our event- a 3 minute wait for an Uber and a ten-minute ride there.
Only would have been better if we could have stayed longer.

I love the location of this hotel. There is a indoor bar with a view of the Mississippi River and beautiful restaurant in the hotel. Their is also a charming outdoor patio they you can be served at. The beds are excellent. The staff is always gracious, and don't be surprised if the owner drops by your table to say hello.
I can say that there is not one thing that I don't like about this hotel.

On top of its vintage charm, I found the services were generous and the staff were all very nice. I arrived early due to my air travel schedule, expecting to spend time somewhere else until I could check in. When I got there, my room was ready and they let me in my room with no problem. The staff asked me if I would like a cup of coffee, so I asked for tea and water, which she got me with no charge! Its famous restaurant was playing one of the jazz classics which was perfect with the hotel atmosphere. The room was so quiet and peaceful. Its neighborhood felt safe to walk around and there are many nice restaurants within walking distance. It’s only 10 minutes away by car from UMN where I went to see my son. I am glad I chose this hotel rather than those by UMN. If you appreciate a vintage style and want a quiet special time, I would recommend this place. The price was reasonable even during the high season.
My only complaint was that the air conditioner didn’t warm up my room well. I had to put on a bathrobe over my pj to sleep.
