An artist suggested this property in the heart of Taos. My default on the road is usually brand name motels to save money and get free parking. But with spring break and skiers, the big volume motel at the edge of town was booked. Thank god. Casa Benavides was very simply unbelievable. This was an upscale, intimate, art-breathing base camp that felt way off-the-map, but was smack in the center of the galleries and the soul of Taos. I don't normally write reviews, but this deserves a shout-out. The room was spacious, the bed was great, and the breakfasts lived up to their legendary status. I've traveled around the world. This ranks in my top three locations of all time.

We loved everything! The location is perfect! Right off the main drag in Taos, so we didn't have to drive anywhere. We walked. Room was cozy, breakfast was delicious, staff so helpful accommodating for our last minute weekend getaway.

Honestly, nothing! My only recommendation would be maybe have some games, puzzles, playing cards, etc. in the rooms. We didn't realize that Taos basically closes at 9 pm and it would have been fun to have these options in the room. They might be in the main lobby, but that was closed for the night. Not even a complaint, just a suggestion.

It was a fascinating property. Colorful murals on the walls in the breakfast room. Beautiful front desk area and sitting room/living room. Tasteful art. The young woman who served our breakfast was efficient and most pleasant. Location was perfect; i.e., close to plaza and all shops. Quiet!

Little bit of a housekeeping problem in the bathroom, but nothing serious. Didn't even report it. Probably just an oversight!

The hotel is in a good location and near various eateries. It has a nice theme and very homey. The breakfast was well; simply awesome! Very down to earth and authentic feel in the dining area and you have to try the oatmeal with yogurt. The oatmeal was really good and topped with peaches and he best tasting yogurt ever. Then we opted for the eggs smothered in red chile sauce. That was the highlight of staying there.

I don't really want to say that we didn't like something, but here are a few things to consider, however keep in mind that not all rooms are the same. We stayed in an upstairs room that was a bit tight. It was not an issue for us since we were there only for one night, but I don't think it would have suited us for more than three days. Our room also had a swamp cooler and at first we thought it might not cut it since other rooms had refrigerated air, but it actually worked out fine.

The location was perfect for us. Walking distance to the Harrow and the Plaza with many interesting shops nearby. The Room was comfortable and very nicely decorated and we had our car parked in front which was very handy. The breakfast room was beautiful and the breakfast choices were among the best we have ever had. Loved the fresh peaches and berries and choice of waffle or French toast in addition to egg dishes. The wait staff were first rate.

The young woman at the desk must have had a bad day because she was rude when I stopped by to ask about a restaurant recommendation. She thought I was trying to check in a bit early which I was not. Her mood brightened later in the day. It would be nice to have a second chair in the room rather than the large stuffed rocker.

Upon arrival, gentleman at front desk was very friendly. I appreciated that he provided us with 2 rooms that were next to each other as we were traveling with another couple. Room was spacious and clean. The hotel location was almost in center of town, but just enough away to not feel too crowded. The homemade breakfast was awesome and the breakfast room was beautiful with local art. I would highly recommend and would stay again if in the area.

I just loved everything about this place… the location, very beautiful, artful decor and an art collection that shined an important spotlight on indigenous people. The breakfast was a highlight of my trip…. The coffee was delicious… the gorgeous dining room and lovely staff. I am definitely going back. Bed and pillows very comfy- quaint room and patio…. Everything was SPECIAL.

Beautiful, spacious room. The dining room and lobby are full of art and the stuff is very friendly.i felt very comfortable staying here and the location is close enough to walk around Taos. The breakfast is one of the best I have had at a hotel and you can choose from around 5 different options.. the coffee is great too.

The location was excellent. We walked to restaurants,galleries,shops,museums. Even tours were close by. The breakfast was exceptional. Lots to chose from and the service was excellent. Everyone at the inn was so nice and helpful with any questions or information. A big thanks to everyone.

Breakfast was far beyond expectations. Rooms were very nice and location was great, a quick walk into town.

There seem to be communication issues with the hotel and Booking.com. Despite booking two rooms for a single night, we continued to get reservation confirmations from the hotel stating we were staying two nights. Despite calling the hotel and confirming a few weeks before our arrival that we in fact had only one night with two rooms booked in their system (hotel's), on arrival it was two rooms for two nights. While it was remedied by the desk clerk on check-in after we showed the booking.com confirmation of two rooms for one night, it was still incredibly frustrating. We had done our due diligence to ensure the hotel had the correct information and it still wasn't correct on arrival. It isn't clear if this was a mistake on booking.com's part or not.
