The hotel was nice and in a good location in Taos. The breakfast was good with many choices. It is an older hotel but with a lot of character. Lots of nice indoor and outdoor spaces. They even had complimentary cookies and chips every afternoon!

Our only discomfort was being next to pet friendly rooms where we could hear dogs barking throughout the day and some at night. It would be nice to have the pet rooms all in one building so those of us not traveling with pets would not be near.

The rooms are clean and spacious and beds are comfortable. There's a great breakfast in the morning and staff are friendly. Location is fantastic to the plaza, restaurants, shops, and cafes in Taos and not far from the ski hill! Really enjoyed this spot and felt it was high-value for being one of the lower cost options in Taos that was walkable to the downtown. Would definitely stay again!

Hot tub closed at 9 which we didn't make before we finished dinner. We were sad to miss out after a day of skiing and seemed a bit early.

Loved the character of the facility, very SW native. The breakfast was wonderful with a beautiful covered patio looking out on to the grounds. Very convenient to all activities, walkable! Wonderful outdoor patio with andirondeck chairs and fireplace! Staff was amazing and friendly

Bathroom a bit small as well as room quite small. We also were surprised when a non reserved quest in front of us a booked the same room for a much lower rate. Since we did not book directly with the hotel but through booking.com we let it go. But it made me question the booking.com rates.

Our room was huge, cozy, and nicely appointed. The bedding was great quality and the beds very comfortable. The room had a microwave and fridge and everything we could have wanted. The grounds are well taken care of, and the entire place is clean. Unfortunately we were there for only one night and did not have time to enjoy the covered patio with BBQ grill and plenty of comfortable furniture or our room's balcony. The breakfast was delicious - I made a breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, and onions & peppers. There were plenty of choices, seating both indoors and in a heated sun porch, and attendants hustling about, keeping everything stocked and clean. We did enjoy the huge outdoor hot tub and fitness room, which is small, but much better than nothing. We appreciated the always available tea and coffee bar.

Nothing - I wish we could have stayed longer.

I absolutely loved the place. It is older so I worried about how well it may have been kept. I opened the door and loved the room. It felt roomy. It had old time styling of the area. I loved the breakfast dining area. It had a patio dining area but with vinyl strips at entry points to keep warmth in although there was snow out. The breakfast food reflected the New Mexico food styles. I loved their hot chocolate machine. The staff was helpful (needed a stick to knock ice blocks of the wheelwells). I would take this over every place we have stayed for years.

Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent, it was a 'real' breakfast with a variety of New Mexico dishes that were filling and nutritious, not like a typical hotel 'continental' breakfast. The room was spacious. While the hotel is older it has been maintained and was very clean. The beds were comfy.

It was a little difficult to get to the motel because the main avenue through Taos is under construction. This, however, is not an issue that can be controlled by the motel and should actually enhance the property in the long run. We did not notice any excessive noise from the construction during our brief stay.

This place is very cool, like a bougie retro motor lodge. The grounds are great for walking around or sitting and enjoying nature. We were happily surprised to find they had a laundry room, and it was very cheap, I think $1.50 each to wash and to dry.

Our room had doors at both ends of it, which had positives, being that the back door led out onto a shared balcony. But, the negative of that was, our next door neighbors the first morning were going in and out of their door for a shared breakfast on the balcony with others, and the door slammed VERY LOUDLY each and every time, for probably 20+ times, starting before 7 AM! I think the hotel could put something on the doors to stop them from slamming, and hope they do. The other minor negative was, when we checked out we only turned in one key without noticing, and no one told us! I found the other key in my purse the next day and mailed it back and it wasn't an issue, but it was quite stressful for me since you agree up front that a "lost" unreturned key will result in a penalty of $300.

The property is well kept and clean and has wonderful gardens and a very inviting ambience. Everything is decorated in New Mexican style, which makes it very charming. There is a wonderful breakfast (with a great variety of items) and a very nice pool (which is located in the middle of the parking lot but it’s surrounded by a wall and very private and nice). Guests can use a coin operated laundry facility.

The mattresses are a little too firm. Some areas of the property are aging and need a little TLC. The breakfast is bountiful but could include more items such as huevos rancheros or omelets plus whole wheat toast for those not interested in the amazing tamales or biscuit and gravy.

We had been on a week-long road trip and the breakfast served here was incredible. By far the best breakfast on our trip. Lots and lots of choices, but also homemade breakfast burritos! Wow. The ONLY reason I gave our stay a good rather than an excellent rating is that we were assigned a 2nd floor room with no elevator. My husband and I are both a bit movement-challenged so schlepping all of our stuff up a flight of stairs is not something we cherish doing. That being said our room was huge and very comfortable. If you don't mind climbing stairs, this place gets a better than excellent rating. I also liked that the rooms were not "cookie-cutter" average hotel rooms. They had a uniqueness to them.

No elevator, but there's no practical solution. If I had known, I would have requested a downstairs room when I booked.

The breakfast was phenomenal. The facilities were very clean, the staff friendly. I liked that they gave free bottle water, salsa and chips, and cookies.

The beds and pillows were uncomfortable for me and I did not sleep well. The pillows were squishy, and the mattresses seemed old. It may just be personal preference. The pool and hot tub were nice but need some work. The jets in the hot tub were not very powerful. Although I love dogs, it may be wise to have people with pets in a separate building. I didn't enjoy the barking. The AC in my room was a bit noisy and the hairdryer did not work properly, the button was stuck.
